  2. Using funds in January, FFP/PSR cycles mean that less money is available for clubs to spend in mid season as they have already done the bulk of their spending during the summer Which is why you do not sell in January unless you are offered silly money
  3. I know what the EFL and Sky deal is. Long midweek away means fans can't make them so having them on TV does make sense. Clubs could offer cheaper ticket prices for home midweek games and tbh, I enjoyed watching the game live inside a stadium but unfortunately I go to midweek away games due to work reasons. Alot of fans are in similar position to myself. I understand some fans are inconvenient by changing of kick off times.
  4. derby ar`nt very good and don`t look like scoring, wieman has been shockingly bad
  5. Spurs could have done the Wharton deal in January instead of Palace tho? What was stopping them?
  6. Or Spurs may have spent that Β£30M on Wharton rather than Gray
  7. Keep the faith?
  8. Not really. Both Tronstad and Mclouglin would be a good captains,
  9. Someone else said something on here recently that made me sad when I thought about it - None of our legends or cult heroes from the last 3 decades have done anything to speak up about the plight of the club and it is disappointing. Our fans were absolutely savaged by the media during the Kean era and we've become an afterthought and a backwater since we dropped out the prem, no one cares about what has happened. I think the closest thing to any sort of dissent maybe occasionally comes from Chris Sutton, but we're only his 4th or 5th favourite team after Forest, Norwich and Celtic so he's not that bothered.
  10. He's at Ewood watching the game saw someone post it on X. Does this result keep our record up of every Rovers side at every level losing all there games so far this season?
  11. More interest I agree with but I honestly think it would have been clubs like Palace and other mid to lower teams bidding for him and iv said we would have got a bit more but not the 30 mill + that some on here seem convinced by I think there was something about him that was putting the big boys off...there was an article about Newcastles interest but they didn't follow through with there interest as they had doubts over him.
  12. I didn't response cos at that stage, no I hadn't, I have read them now twice. Plus 40 mins into the podcast with Glen and Kidder noise. Listen to the rest tonight
  13. It says more about our dearth of options than any insight from Chadster.
  14. Can we start some conspiracy theories about why Rudy Gestede will only sign players over 6 ft 2 please? Some ancient French/Benin tradition with a questionable link to witchcraft or something?
  15. Just read it's 3 goals and 3 assists in 4 matches this season for Twine. Be interesting to see how Derby react to this. Were we any good at coming back from a goal down under Eustace? I can't remember. The time since he has left has been so traumatic I can't really remember πŸ˜„
  16. The "overachieving" against clubs with more "financial muscle" from him looks like the usual spiel. It doesn't help, as many will run with it. However, I think he has put his real feelings across here in a subtle way here: "In order to be successful, you need to keep hold of these (Szmodics) type of players" "I pray they get back to some stability and get a benefactor who wants to spend some money and give them a chance to get back to the promised lands in the Premier League". I think he knows these bastards don't want to spend. They don't give us a chance to go up, but he can't be as blunt as that.
  17. He played last week for them. Maybe he is with the first team at Hull or maybe he is close to loan move
  18. As I said above, it’s because they fire-sold him at a relatively short notice in January. At that moment in time only Palace were looking, so we had no negotiating power and had to sell him. As much as Prem clubs can throw money around, most won’t throw Β£30mill around unplanned, and some would already have spent. Plus look at the trouble the likes of Newcastle and Villa are having with PSR. Everyone knew you would have more interest, more bidders and thus a higher fee in July. But we don’t think more than the next bill we have to pay in front.
  19. News for anyone who has had their head up their arse for the last 14 sad years.... Venkys don't re-invest money made on player sales in replacements. Doesn't matter if Adam Wharton had been sold for Β£150 million - none of it would have been ploughed back into playing staff. VENKY FIFA PLAYING MORONIC WADFANKERS OUT!
  20. Remember when Chaddy said Todd Cantwell would be a good alternative as captain and he got ridiculed? well he is our new captain
  21. I could see the talent, and i disagreed with us selling him in that window. My point is though why did none of the big boys not come in at that price?A world class talent and they let Palace have him for the 18 million? And again rated so highly outside of our vlub but wasnt making the under 21 squads. Why?
  22. So like Suhail, you couldn't see the talent in him either, and wouldn't have waited (at least) 12 months?
  23. Promoted we hadn't won in a game In ages and we where on a downward spiral.Wharton was not having a great season like the rest of them.Moments of great quality yes but not consistent. He wasn't playing like he did v Blackpool every week Yes we would have got a bit more but it would not have been a lot more
  24. Won't be the end of venkys, I always believed it would be the end of us as a second division club. Looks like it could happen a year ahead of schedule to be fair.
