  1. Past hour
  2. "Cannot be sustained under current financial framework" aka our billionaire owners can't afford to increase the budget for the women's squad from £100-150k to £400-600k by their own estimates. Utterly pathetic by the club, especially when they bigged up the Lionesses who came through our ranks.
  3. After the JDT farce season they managed to counter a mass drop off with a £30 discount. This time they've stopped it from being out right disaster with earlier sales and a cheaper change of stand option. Lets not mess about they are doing these things out of desperation nothing else, the pair of clowns are just covering their backsides but at some point it will catch up with them. How many others would lose a thousand ST's after finishing 7th ? The lack of trust in those running Ewood is killing the club slowly but surely.
  4. I wouldn't trust ANY govt to hold bonds or guarantees of tens of millions regardless of what it's for.
  5. Is that quote from May 2012 or May 2017?
  6. apparently the bond that venkys have to pay to send money here has been halved, waggots claim that there was no restriction was clearly a lie and he should be sacked
  7. We're the laughing stock of UK football
  8. "The growing financial and operational constraints tied to tier two status, including the requirement to move to a fully professional model, have reached a point where they can no longer be sustained under the club's current financial framework. The optics on this are very bad. In total contrast to the rest of Women and Girls football. A multi million pound operation, but can't find a way to fund this.
  9. Good. The headline on a couple of sites about this being about the owners refusing to fund is refreshing and encouraging. These are billionaires, with nothing stopping them from covering relatively small costs. If they can't or won't do that, they have no chance at all of keeping this business going eventually. I'm glad they are being shamed in this way and suspect it is our best chance of being rid of them. Obviously awful for all those caught in the crossfire though and make no mistake - this is all on the Raos.
  10. Today
  11. I just made the mistake of reading some of the comments on the Facebook post. Is it just me, failing to see that this is an inevitable and sound business decision with only positive implications for the men's team? Im really sorry that I'm not quite getting it.
  12. I can only conclude this was always a calculated misdirection based on the literal meaning. Of course they don't refuse to sign a cheque, because they realistically would never be asked to.
  13. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6366991/2025/05/20/blackburn-rovers-women-team-relegated/ Getting worldwide attention
  14. you can only keep treading water, football wise, for so long, eventually the descent down the leagues will happen,it`s only the good luck of appointing 3 decent managers that`s kept us in the division, two of whom legged it when they saw the medium term situation before them
  15. Can I just check, do Venkys still 'never refuse to sign a cheque' or have we given up on that one at last?
  16. It’s so easy to go down divisions in sport, yet brutally hard to go back upwards. Rovers Women’s team have gone back a generation today. No matter what you think of women’s football, it’s a bad look and a narrow minded, short term decision. Another tremendously embarrassing day for our once proud football club.
  17. Get back from Ewood on Saturday night 1979:
  18. Halfway up the PL when they took over. As others have said they’ve either cut, or tried to cut every asset of the club. Someone tell me what hasn’t been cut? No money available for anything. No ambition. No honesty about anything whatsoever. There’s only one possible worse situation that I can think of. Liquidation.
  19. Managed to get a dig at the fans in there… ‘Regrettably, despite all Rovers Women’s league fixtures being played at Ewood Park last season for the first time, there was no noticeable upturn in home attendances, resulting in the absence of the substantial matchday commercial revenue and sponsorships required to support continued investment at Tier 2’
  20. The 'current model' being bleed the club dry of all assets, cut costs and reinvest nothing. Absolutely shameful.
  21. But, but it’s the fans fault, not the lying bastards who run and own the club. That has never been the case. You are mistaken about that.🤔
  22. Great post! This all begs the ultimate question ‘why bother owning a football club in the first place?’. Roundly hated by all and disinterested in football/the club/the town. It makes no sense.
  23. Never refuse to sign a cheque. Venkys out.
