  1. Past hour
  2. That's a fair point i think it's reasonable to assume that if they did decide to part with it they'd turn to the usual people to handle a source and sale project. Which is probably as terrifying as them continuing to own it.
  3. Yeah, can't go 10 steps in Chorley without passing some micro-bar 😁 wish it was like that when I was drinking there in my teens/20s! (granted you'd also pass a barbers and charity shop at the same time). (having said that, when we used to draw the large followings in the old days, they just stuffed themselves into Spoons). Like you say, I also noticed the club itself has started hosting a lot of away fans going to Rovers, PNE etc. They've had 1000 or so from Boro, Villa and some other clubs over the last year.
  4. The Chorley pub scene on Saturdays is booming now and this plays a part even Chorley FC cater for away coaches going to Ewood. Meanwhile Blackburn town centre has the Postal Order and er.....
  5. I fear I may start having to talk to my wife again 😁😁
  6. Chorley FC are excellent at providing facilities for large followings visiting Rovers. They had up to 1,000 visiting fans on a regular basis. They put on a band and a raffle as well. Many fans also visit the many pubs and real ale / craft ale houses in Chorley where the pub and restaurant scene is vibrant at the expense of Blackburn.
  7. Yes, I also believe that is something the new WATR Board are looking at. There has been keen interest in buying Rovers, information was passed to the club and SW confirmed to us that he was also contacted by a potential buyer. The point of the post above re Preston is to show that there are buyers out there and to try and put to bed the idea that no one would want to buy us. The stumbling block of course is that the owners, and their silent partners, do not appear to want to sell.
  8. Yep, a lot of away fans (coaches) tend to stop in Chorley beforehand for drinking then head straight to Ewood / Fernhurst. Very rare to see away fans sample the delights of Blackburn town centre.
  9. The Animals - It’s My Life
  10. Yup virtually all the worthwhile assets have been cashed, squad wage bill lowered, most of the money gone to running costs with a fraction re-invested in cheap punts. Now it'll be back to as you were with annual losses covered for a few years, a few more outgoings to contribute then no real spending again for a few years until the next crisis looms prompting more cuts and fire sales. Round and round we go. Meanwhile Suhail and gang will earn another million or so sat not taking accountability for anything.
  11. That's something I've been thinking about recently and I'm not sure that matters are as straightforward as that statement assumes. We were all convinced that there was a 'power behind the throne' with Venkys purchase. 'They' haven't gone away just dropped out of sight. Meaning that they'll still be involved in lining up the next bunch of schmucks when the time to change ownership comes around. The rumours from the start were that Venkys were innocent naive patsies with a darker power pulling the levers in the background, if true 'they' won't be going away anytime soon. So a change of ownership is to be wished for? Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose! I think things are far more broken than we assume.
  12. I hope O'Riordan kicks on in this loan spell. I saw on Facebook that he has had a good start to this loan spell, so could he (finally) be a Wharton / Carter who comes back ready?
  13. Today
  14. What will you do with your spare time now @wilsdenrover? 😁 I am genuinely thankful for your efforts on this whole thing, really appreciated, especially as you took the time to explain things out to halfwits like me!
  15. Ocean Colour Scene - Charlie Brown Says
  16. Darwen is decent if if you keep ypur eyes front. 🥊🥊 Miss old blackburn nightlife and the town on a Saturday in general. Used to go into town every Saturday for odd bits and bobs and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Town on a Saturday morning was a social time aswell people in shops you knew (auntie 'x' because it was ypur mums friend) Happy people with a buzz about the place and the number one rule GO IN TOWN EARLY BECAUSE ROVERS ARE PLAYING TODAY. was on everyone's lips. Now you wait a matter of 5 mins to get through Ewood on a match day.
  17. The window would have gone exactly the same whether they had to pay a bond or not.
  18. @Mike Graham you ever tried to engage new owners yourself? That might come across as pedantic in text but it’s a genuine question.
  19. Can we get local media on this - they will undoubtedly have no idea....
  20. Will you please stop being so logical.
  21. Tranmere play Nottingham Forest U21s this evening in the EFL Trophy It is possible that Jack Barrett may make his debut for them, game is on Sky Sports +, kick off at 7pm score/update
  22. As much as it might stick in our throat PKE would be a good sensible investment for the right people, maybe even a Rusian roulette hedge fund like the other lot. Small well maintained up to date stadium, no expensive academy or training complex to fund, probably minimal external debt, enough crowd potential to fill their shoe box, modestly famous ancient name to trade on. And owners who wouldn't want 100 million back.
  23. If we can afford to pay more be critical of the fact we’re not willing to. If we can’t afford to pay more be critical of what’s lead to this. Neither position, in my opinion, is defendable.
  24. seconded, a wonderful job indeed Wilsden 🙂
  25. Also some seem to like to throw the entire club wage bill or annual losses into the first team squad wage bill instead of the other way around.
