  1. Past hour
  2. Brittain looks like he's gone then. Travis next? Wouldn't surprise me if the replacement is already here (Alebiosu). Gestede is surely delighted to have Montgomery as backup to increase those Academy playing minutes from last season: - Transfer fees received doesn't get reinvested into the squad as per Gestede's previous comments (i.e. transfer budget is not impacted by player sales) - Venky's have probably not put a single penny into the transfer budget. Pasha makes sure it stays that way to collect his yearly bonus (maybe he gets a bit more now that Waggott is gone?) - We are reliant on slashing wages and selling players first before we can add anyone to the squad. All the outgoings (ending of loans and contracts) are the reason why we were able to pay a fee for the likes of Tavares, De Neve, McLoughlin and Alebiosu. - Contracts are not sorted/extended because any salary increase will have a negative impact on whatever transfer budget we're currently operating with - Owners know their business model would be laughed at if the club somehow miraculously were to get promoted to the PL. Why? Because the sheer thought of having to spend in excess of 100 million pounds just to be competitive (like Sunderland or Nottingham) would send them into a panic mode They have no interest in the club. They're not willing to spend. They have no ambition. They have no knowledge. They won't sell the club at a fair price. And to top it all off: club has an internal debt of roughly 120 million pounds towards the owners that they will never be able to repay regardless of how many assets they sell.
  3. It may have been missed but il ask again doesn’t anybody on here know how long it takes for minutes to be agreed glen Mullen said he was at the meeting with pasha in attendance and questioned him on loads of things I’m wondering what these were and the responses etc Glenn has been a big critic of the regime so I doubt he sugar coated the questions
  4. I don't blame people for wishing we were run like 99% of the rest of the football league, tbf. They'll be more than happy with the new lad, Duru and Kristi.
  5. Don't know how many times it needs repeating. Ditto if one of Travis or Tronstad leave.
  6. We wouldn't match other teams for wages.
  7. Absolutely, there isnt a chance this lot would have even thought of that though. Can play centre back very well too. This isn't true, they paid the younger lads to protect the asset.
  8. Just stumbled across this article in the Guardian. Don't have any memory of this game - was away at Uni at the time. I must have watched it on TV I guess. I do remember the Oxford match as was part of that rivalry we had with them that season. Blackburn v Manchester United: the Cup tie that made Mick Rathbone famous | Manchester United | The Guardian
  9. That would be fine except RG has admitted incoming fees make no difference to the transfer budget.
  10. Every Wednesday player is a free transfer, contracts expired due to non payment
  11. Go get Yan Valery at Wednesday as Brittain's replacement. 26, 6ft+, athletic, few goals and assists, Premiership and Championship experience, Wednesday need money desperately. Bank Β£2.5m, spend Β£1m.
  12. Fuck me. So our list of potential replacements is/was: Drameh X Al Sahafi X Right Winger - None identified X Baradji X Alleyne X Centre Back cover - None identified X Encouraging stuff
  13. I'm sure JE has been onto Brittain and given him the big sell on Derby, no doubts there. But if he really wanted that move, and JE's got the backing of Derby's owners, why haven't they been back in for him? Not much point in waiting 3 weeks for Boro to get back in there.
  14. What's the point? Get a good player, have a really good season, get close to the play offs. Then we just sell and don't even bother trying to improve. Pathetic.
  15. Well highlighted. The club is an embarrassment quite frankly.
  16. I know nothing whatsoever about it but Im guessing he would prefer to go to Derby and team up with Eustace again, but Boro are offering more or what Rovers want so he might be forced to go there.
  17. Some of us knew that the club's priority this summer was to (a) slash the wage bill further and (b) sell a few assets for decent cash to pay the bills. We've done the first, and now with a month to go are on to the second. The only other question now is whether they succumb to temptation and cash in on Trav/Tron as well. Probably another Β£5 million to liquidate there if they really want it.
  18. Not if Derby don't stump up a deal acceptable to Rovers. Would be amazed if Brittain and Eustace haven't had a tete-a-tete! Don't think it's a case of 'holding out' - can't do anything unless a club comes up with a deal Rovers prepared to accept.
  19. For the club to turn this window around, we need to make both RW and CM signings permanent (with substantial fees) and contract renewals for either Travis and Tronstad...Wake me up please.
  20. Officially it is to make the accounts more accurate. Of course the reduction of profit/creation of a loss could prove to be handy…
  21. To be fair, how many players have we signed over the years that we've been "linked" with.
  22. It's all not pursuing a deal. Haven't made an offer. That typifies rovers
