  1. Past hour
  2. Then we reject the bid for not being what we wanted. But we couldn't because we was desperate. The argument was that we got a poor deal due to the circumstances. The counter argument seems to rely on the idea that even if we weren't so desperate, the deal was likely to not be any more beneficial to us long term, just structured differently.
  3. Cryptic, but even so, makes absolutely no difference to us unfortunately. Might be used to further justify us getting a poor fee though.
  4. It's always an gamble...what if ACD turned out good...had a really good game home to Luton but didn't move on that performance
  5. That's more like the realistic scenario. Even if (and I certainly doubt it) that we got remotely close to £30 million, there's no way would the future sell on be as high as 15%.
  6. Today
  7. Don't remember Dolan ever playing left back.
  8. But those big clubs could have bought him in the January for the price Palace did and loaned him back to us like we asked Palace to do. I know football is mad these days and clubs do stupid things but surely if the big clubs your Liverpools your city's Arsenal's etc wanted him they would have come in when they knew we needed money instead of waiting till summer where we might have been in a better position to hold out for more. I think there was something putting them off with him and plus we were struggling last season and even with Wharton I honestly don't think results would been much different so just another few months trodding along with out of form our poor players alongside him. I accept more clubs than just Palace would bid for him in the summer which would have pushed his price up a little but not some of the figures being spoken about Rovers fan or not surely he would have had to have pushed for a move away in the summer especially when Szmodic was sold and we spend peanuts on unknown replacements .We should have been having a push and building around himself and Szmodic .The Whartons are rovers fans they are probably as fed up of the ownership as the majority of us are so for me he would have wanted to move up a level by summer anyway
  9. Otis Redding - These Arms Of Mine
  10. How do you think RF99? Because I seen him at Ewood Park I'm amazing we still debating the fee 18 months on from selling him.
  11. Think you're missing the point
  12. Make it the East End and you’ve got a deal. 😂
  13. Nah, surely that'd be on par with winning the Auto Windscreens Trophy, or whatever it's called now? A major domestic trophy would be the top division, FA Cup or League Cup, in my opinion.
  14. They won the Full Members Cup I'd say that was Major
  15. I was surprised when I heard this. Probably take success for granted, seeing Rovers' rich history across the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. But blew my mind a little than a fairly prominent club like Palace had never won a proper trophy in their history until today.
  16. One of our own, pleased for the lad.
  17. How do you know that Dan Ashworth came to numerous games? The move for him was a good one. The move for us wasnt, we were so desperate to get him out the door that rather than waiting until the summer, we subsequently got a lower fee than a club would that wasnt as desperate, that allowed him to develop and showcase his ability for longer and that was willing to wait until the much more active summer window would have done. Theres no way that especially considering the desperation to sell, that the fee could possibly have been as high as it would be had we been in a stronger negotiating position. I am amazed that so many people still try to justify it.
  18. I'm not missing the point. I was obviously against the sale and its a joke he had to go so early due to us needing the money but I think for the lads own career he would have had to move up the following summer anyway...yeah we probably would have got a couple of million more but not fees like £30 million that's been suggested and it would have been clubs like Palace evertons etc buying him a mid table club.
  19. First-Team Player Care Officer and Team Operations Manager are full time roles and Receptionist & Facilities Coordinator is 20 hours job
  20. Gutted for Adam that he didn't get to take part in the celebrations on the pitch, but huge congratulations to him and Palace. Always good to see someone different lift a trophy, and Palace have never won anything major. They deserve it.
  21. Delighted for Wharton and Palace winning the FA cup and they deserved it. Dean Henderson was outstanding
  22. Wasn't it the case that Murray wanting to see the season out at Eastbourne before leaving to come here.
  23. i hope this palace victory brings an end to the mania that possesion is everything, hopefully a new era of tactics has risen with the main focus being scoring goals despite not having much of the ball, palace played a retro game of long balls down the flanks and mateta running the channels, like football used to be
  24. Firstly, different positions and Huijsen is highly regarded and other PL teams wanted him like Chelsea and Liverpool but Madrid is probably a dream move for him. He has shown his worth and is international player. His release clause was £50m and that fee was needed to get him. Wharton is building his PL career and a move to Palace 18 months probably was the right move for his development given he would be PL regular and show his talent where his talent is being seen. Dan Ashworth visited Ewood Park a number of times and I guess he was scouting Adam Wharton.
  25. Yeah, confirmed concussion checks.
