  1. Past hour
  2. Me too, it was the first game after the big freeze in 1963. Fred Pickering had got married that Saturday morning and both teams gave him a guard of honour when they came out. They really gifted Fred a goal later on. We’d been on the attack and it broke down with the Utd goalie getting the ball in his hands. He threw it out to Albert Quixall about 30 yards from goal. As he did that Fred was crouching down tying his boot lace. Quixall got the ball under control but he was quickly closed down, so he turned around and passed the ball back to the keeper, just as Fred stood back up ! The ball went straight to him and he just turned and banged the ball past the keeper into the back of the net. Matt Woods, Denis Law, Fred Else and John Bray in the photo.
  3. Much appreciated - thanks for supporting the site 🙂
  4. We tried to start something a few years ago using material supplied by Harry Berry but changes in personnel in BRFCS Towers slowed it down then a software upgrade killed it off completely. We have the technical capability to resurrect it…just needs contributors… Rob Sawyer has been on our podcast. His mum was a Rovers fan from Blackburn. We’re his 2nd team. He wrote a book on Keith Newton a while back.
  5. S-S-S-Suhail the Snake! Anyone know where to buy a mongoose?
  6. Today
  7. Always miffed at him for that and not playing the Wharton brothers. At least they would have been fired up for it.
  8. They have a huge Boro fan running their Club....
  9. Looks good? That he wont be fit until at best late November, but more likely well beyond that? Joke of a signing. Ismael has sold Carter down the river in the press today too. Yes his injuries do make him a waste of time but to be questioning him in that manner, the "open and honest" gang will love him but its really poor man management to say that in public. How about looking back at ourselves who have left us with only him as a right footed centre back.
  10. Not saying their new badge is better but a simple gold trim for the anniversary season is an obvious choice
  11. That is the best ever write up of an early Rovers player I have seen.Pics of his medals and caps included. With our great history why is there not a similar Rovers dedicated site?..quite embarrassing really. An idea for the mods on here to expand on maybe?
  12. What can be done when you actually give a fuck.
  13. I bought one of the shirts this week, it came yesterday and I'm really happy with it. The sizing is spot on and the material feels really nice. Thanks very much guys for organising everything around the shirts. 👌
  14. Not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but Kargbo was also suspended, also an update on Baradji "It's the same as last time, those who have played with the national team have played a lot but have no injuries. We had two players suspended (Kargbo and Gudjohnsen) so they came back earlier than normal which is good for us. "A couple will be back today and tomorrow so everyone will be available for the final session on Friday. "Some players have come back from an injury and got some minutes like Adam Forshaw, he played 45 minutes against Burnley which is good. “It’s good to have him back, but he is focused on himself and trying to get that stability now to train with consistency to be able to help us on and off the pitch. "Moussa Baradji is making progress as well. My expectation is he will be fit after the next international break. Hopefully, we will get the schedule right. It looks good at the minute, we assess week by week, and this is my expectation. "If you believe in a player, you see the quality, it's a question of time. In the long run, everyone will enjoy him. The fans and the club will enjoy him but he needs time to come back, adapt to the Championship and compete. "We will need everyone and it's our job to prepare him. For the others, we need to assess them still until the last minute."
  15. Boro celebrating their 150th next year, they’ve made a permanent change to the badge and introduced a version of it for the anniversary season https://www.mfc.co.uk/news/2025/october/16/middlesbrough-fc-s-new-crest/
  16. He's a northern lad, isn't he? Surely he can't live that far from the training ground. Maybe the type of car he's driving? His diet / lifestyle? Hard to read any specifics from VI's comments, there.
  17. He named inferior players, one who isnt playing that much. Unless the reason was injury, he should be in the squad. Managers can make incorrect decisions. Obviously it didnt matter in this instance, we had 2 easy games.
  18. Surely that would depend on the reasons first?
  19. Whatever his reason, it was wrong.
  20. May as well do it now. Personally I think the game is shit and boring with more than 3 substitutions. 'Competitive' games now are essentially just glorified friendlies.
  21. Its a fair point but Anderson impress Tuchel in the under 21 tournament. Guehi is a top centre back. Would like to ask Tuchel why he isn't picking Wharton in the squad?
  22. Denis Law scores past Fred Else in the First Division clash between Rovers and Man United at Ewood in March 1963 Riverside absolutely packed Rovers 2 United 2 I woz there. 62 years ago but still remember the game.
  23. Nobody who has any shred of intelligence comes out with this stuff. Just brainless venky bots.
  24. Would that really suit Kane who need pace and runners around him? Who are your wing backs?
  25. But Wharton isn't being picked, because there's so many good players ahead of him. To get past them he's going to have to move on to a bigger stage
  26. Guehi is a regular playing for the same team and Anderson isnt at a bigger club so im not sure it is that.
  27. For me Wharton, Rice and Anderson would be a great midfield three.. Rapid wingers, Kane up top with Palmer/Bellingham behind.. I'd play 3-5-2 to accommodate.
