I'm not taking a lot blow. That behaviour speaks for itself. You rarely post here anymore and came right back to comment after Saturday, judging by that comment seemingly to raise a reaction.

One point you dont seem keen to acknowledge. All Championship clubs make losses and their owners all offset those losses, without the fanfare. Its not just a Rovers thing. In fact, I have read that even in the Premier League, only West Ham made a profit last year, as their stadium is funded by the government. Football clubs make losses. Yet are all owned by people who offset them. The chances of any new owners being unwilling to do that, knowing that they would have to is low and would be temporary as the club would be taken away from them. There are clearly people out there with the funds and willingness to buy Championship football clubs knowing that they are loss making. Why are you so skeptical that it would happen here?

The January 2026 Transfer Window

Once the window closes the Venky supporters will be out in force pointing to Jorgensen and the 'bids' for the Barnsley lads as evidence of Venkys' amazing support for the club. Of course in reality whatever we've paid for Jorgensen comes out of the money we got from Wrexham for Hyam on deadline day, then there's the next instalment of Adam Wharton's Palace money coming in the next week or so, and we won't be buying the Barnsley lad anyway, so you don't get credit for trying and failing. -

There game in hand is away at Charlton, which i don't think has a date put in yet. Could be huge when that comes around. -
Perhaps a financial expert on this matter can fill us in, but doesn't the club lose around £10m-£15m per season just by standing still? That would require a sale of Sammie and a bit every season to keep the club running. Not realistic because we aren't going to product that every season in my view. So somebody has to plug that gap. And my point is that new owners would have to do the same.

I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes and how far exact the two clubs are apart in terms of valuation. Pretty sure it’s not £5m excl. add-ons though. -

Bristol City are flush with funds after receiving a £10m sell-on for Seymenyo. -
Perhaps it tells more of a sad story that for a long time I felt I could never post my opinion on here. They are my exact thoughts, and I've said nothing out of turn, not resorted to petulant insults or other things that dismiss debate out of hand. So I really think you're taking a low blow with that and trying to turn it into something that it's not.

How about people make a pact to act decent despite the difference in opinions. Presuming we are all adults here, it's the right thing to do going forward.
-
Not all the money they’re putting in is theirs. What happened to the Wharton money, the Sammi money, the Raya money ?

An eloquent post.

They formed because they felt that BRFCS wouldn’t let them have what they defined as free speech & post whatever they wanted & they grew tired of the bans when they overstepped what we considered to be acceptable. As a consequence this site is now persona non grata over there & anyone quoting it, referencing it or sharing it is seriously frowned upon. We are all Rovers supporters though and it serves to indicate that there is a broad breadth of opinion over what the club should aspire to & the role of a supporter. It’s analogous to the growth of the increasingly binary mindset across society at large IMO.

There's no sign that Hedges will sign a contract extension and he certainly won't after relegation when the wage will be further reduced.

I'm just answering the question posed: "Is everybody on the other forum pro-Venky's?"
-
And that’s where we disagree, as I outlined to you last week here. Maybe you mistook it for one of them posts on here that was more interested in “killing off debate” .
-
*FYI nobody on this board has said folk are pro-Venky’s if they still went yesterday.

No hatred from me at all. My crime in the last 24 hours is analysing and critiquing why I don't think the boycott worked. Some posters at least debate the point, but the majority, including one of the organisers, seem to respond petulantly or with a stab that it's people like me that drives supporters apart. Huge shame if people really think an opposing opinion is the problem at Rovers, that it must be trolling, that the club's better off with me, etc. That's why there is no debate. Many simply can't accept that some disagree with the boycott and, frankly, from what I've seen in terms of responses, resort to insults. That's what drive fans apart. Nobody on the other forum is pro-Venky's. Although I don't see why anything needs justifying. I, and others, have said countless times that the Venky's have made disastrous decisions, that they were naive and manipulated early on by weasels and snakes, that this is all of their own making, etc. Currently, yes, there are still operational decisions and misalignments within the club, and the only thing turning me from a full-on boycott is that the Venky's still put money into the club when it needs to pay its bills. Would I like owners that are more hands-on? Yes! But perhaps the financial aspect is even more important. It's a business with financial obligations, and the current owners can't be accused of not sticking to those, even if it is of their own making. Because if they don't pay for their mess, then somebody else is likely going to have to. And I don't see who on Earth could sustain that, or volunteer to do so - at least not somebody with the right intentions. That does not mean "we should be thankful" to the Venky's. I wish people would stop bloody saying that nonsense. Nobody has ever thought "thank you, Venky's!", and nobody ever will. It's just a petulant remark that has zero founding to it. It is simply a recognition that that's what they at least continue to. If we could get new owners that both show more care and closeness to the club, and have the same, if not more, wealth than the Venky's to be prepared to cover obligations and then some, then great. Count me in! But, as yet, I am really reluctant to believe that will just happen if the Venky's ever decide to sell. So, is that a pro-Venky's stance? If I'm not sold on the idea of a boycott (and I'm not the only one), must I therefore be in support of the current owners? Absolutely not. And this is where so many people fall over themselves to pigeon hole supporters into a category. I am not claiming to have solutions. I'm not sure what the answer is. But for those coming up with answers, please stop getting precious if people criticise it. Perhaps taking things on board, including the opinions of those who don't agree with you and give reasons why, instead of saying "I'm disappointed, you're not the type of supporter that's good for us". Horrible reaction to fair criticism in my view, particularly if you're looking to get everybody onboard with your mission.

Barnsley with the help of nIxon are using us as leverage to get more money out of Bristol City, where he'll inevitably end up. The nickoteens and happy clappers will wail 'what do we expect they get 20k every week'. Bookmark it. -

Granted that Birmingham fans didn't rate him and he obviously had a horrorshow in his league debut for us, but a) he was decent in the FA Cup vs Hull (I thought the only positive from that game was our defensive showing!), b) maybe they made a mistake, but if a well-run club like Brighton thought he was worth £9m+ only a year ago, surely there's a player in there... Were Derby fans surprised that Brighton signed him/paid that much? May be harsh on Pratt, whose been a nice surprise, but may make sense if they're finding him a L1/L2 loan. I've also been pleased to see Atcheson generally do ok in his first appearances, but he's still only 19 and you could tell he was knackered by the end of the Ipswich and Swansea games (couldn't understand why VI didn't think to sub him after ~75min in both games...) -

Can't knock a target man for struggling in Spain, and has had a few prolific seasons. If Feyernoord saw something useful, and the player wants to make a claim for a world cup year - there's worse punts -

'Investment signing' Money tends to suddenly become available for one they think they can polish and flog on flog double. Regardless of where or where not they might blend into the team, this is why we have the managers we do. -
To be fair, Van Dijk is now 34. In yesteryear, that would be approaching retirement age. My guess is that Robertson is the huge miss, amongst others. From the outside, he seemed to be a leader in the backline.

Seems to be entirely speculative, but this article suggests Rovers as a landing spot for Canadian national team striker Cyle Larin: https://www.footballtransfers.com/nl/transfernieuws/nl-eredivisie/2026/01/cyle-larin-neemt-afscheid-van-feyenoord-turkije-lonkt-als-volgende-stap https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyle_Larin Not getting enough minutes on his Feyenoord loan, so looking for a new spot to fight to keep his place in the Canadian national team for the World Cup. His club career has had ups-and-downs, and he's gradually been surpassed as a starter for the national team (was neck-and-neck with Jonathan David for most national team goals until fairly recently. Plenty of goals against CONCACAF minnows, but also huge goals vs USA and Mexico), but I think he'd still be quite effective at this level. Good physical target man, generally works hard, decent (if inconsistent) poacher, and ok with link up play. The game can kind of 'pass him by' if it's not a tactical 'fit'. Still on a La Liga contract with Mallorca (where he hasn't quite 'gelled'), so would require some negotiation on the salary contribution. Otherwise, linked to FC Twente or moving back to Super Lig. If you want to go over 295 pages on his career from Canadian soccer nerds...: https://www.canadiansoccernews.com/topic/75160-cyle-larin/page/295/ Anyway, take all of the above with a grain of salt, but I take my opportunities to expound about a Rovers link to a Canadian soccer (sore-y) player haha
