  1. Past hour
  2. We might as well plant hedges down the side of the pitch, as field this fella in his present low impact incarnation. Not sure why VI doesn't clock how ineffective and therefore damaging to our prospects it is to insist on playing individuals whose contribution is nothing other than to frustrate and undermine our attacking capability. If anyone was to be let go from the current squad, it should be the Welsh wunderboy, Hyam Wedges. Anyway, back to the game. Brum likely to be fired up in front of their maurauding hordes and benefitting from the momentum of a record-breaking promotion from the porridge for breakfast league. The nasal sound of 7.5K brummie drongoes shouting, "Coom on yow Blues' (how ironic at Ewood!) echoing deeply around the sparsely populated and relatively empty concourses on three of four sides of the ground... chastening stuff! Broomay Drongoes on fire - Rovers 0 Burmingerum 4 Rovers somehow stem the tide in a hapless borefest - Rovers 0 Drongoes 0 Well there's a surprise - Rovers 3 Nasal Twats sent packing 0 My money isn't on the need for tampons up the nose, by the way. However, COYB! VENKY MORONS SAY HELLO BUT WAVE GOODBYE! PASHA / RUDY / PRESS CONFERENCE SABOTAGING KNOBHEADS OUT!
  3. So there's no point being a fan? Fair conclusion?
  4. did we ever put a bid for either player, yes we were linked to them but we did sign Taveras around the same time, so I think he was the pick of Ismael, Gestede and Owen.
  5. From a regulatory point of few it says to ask ‘relevant questions’. I think asking if the captain is available for selection (and if not, why) would be relevant but ‘digging any deeper’ might not be. But, as you say, VI (or the press officer if we have one of those) could have covered this without the club’s preemption.
  6. It won't. We'll plod on at whatever level we're at, at minimum funding. There is no hope or future.
  7. It's laughable isn't it. Seemingly, the club can't even comply with simple governance. Just WTF does our Company Secretary do down in Brighton (filing changes to directors at Companies House typically falls on the Company Secretary)?
  8. With Travis and Hyam likely out the door, it doesn’t bode well for them as there’s only Tronstad and Cantwell so far with any reasonable sell on value left to move on to keep the lights on. Carter arguably could be included but is injured so often that I can’t see a decent fee there any more. Should none of our cheap punts work, this time next year looks like it will be a horrible time
  9. There's no way Hedges doesn't play.
  10. There is no plan. Apart from cutting costs.
  11. I don’t think he qualifies now but not because he played last week. Having taken another look at the regs I’m even more certain of that: His current club is now in a lower band - the fact his last match (if he hadn’t played) would’ve been in a higher band doesn’t change the one his club are now in. I could be wrong - where I’m definitely right is with thinking things would be far simpler if the regulations made absolutely clear when the change of league quality takes place (re relegation/promotion). In terms of the exceptions panel, whether they’d agree that relegation counts as an ‘exceptional circumstance’ is anyone’s guess.
  12. Excitement for this one is at a low. Think we will likely set up not to get beat and be very defensive and create nothing going forward and play the game like we’re playing them away Predicting a 2-0 win for Brum, a half effort performance from Tronstad, Tavares to get an early yellow and be dulled, Kargbo and Gueye introduced at 60mins, then a selection of kids at 80mins - snooze fest toth Pickering miller mcloughlin Ribiero Tavares Tronstad alebiosu cantwell de neve ohashi
  13. There's an "end of days" feeling about Rovers now. How long can Venkys put off the final countdown? How will it end? How many relegations before they've had enough? Can they close the team down completely? They were ruthless with the Women's team after all. How do we think it will end?
  14. If Liverpool need a striker then Rovers must be in ICU on life support with our strike force!?!? Ekitike looked the real deal to me - an all round striker with football intelligence. Think he's only 22 (same age as Leonard) but will get even better and better and develop into one of the top 3 strikers in world football.
  15. Don't worry about anyone going. Jackson said there club have extensive lists for replacement players should any of the "1 year contract" players leave. I'm sure the lists will be of excellent, championship level quality.
  16. Did Paul Round not pass some 6 months ago?
  17. He could have got injured in training, or whilst doing the washing up 😉 But yes, if he is missing, odds are it is because he is off (or threw a wobbly due to the ridiculous contract offer that was made to him)
  18. I know. They are shit scared of probing Travis questions though and it's blindingly obvious, hence the gagging order.
  19. Rovers’ directors ‘as seen by’ the EFL: https://www.efl.com/governance/owners-and-directors-test-public-register-of-directors/
  20. Each to our own… I’ll enjoy a couple of pints up the Black Bull pre though.
  21. I dunno I do still get the buzz but I let the disappointment wait until im sat in a plastic blue seat. COYB🔵⚪️🌹
  22. If we were paying average wages at this level, we would be in the middle of the list below Even if you omit the parachute payment teams, we were comfortably in the "below average" bracket then, and have had huge cuts since this point, whilst the lowest payers (Plymouth & Rotherham) have been replaced by ambitious high payers such as Wrexham. Of the other teams who have been promoted since these figures. Derby are now obviously willing to pay more than Rovers as seen by Batth, Weimann, Travis etc. Oxford & Portsmouth are now outbidding us on fees and wages, as shown when they brought in De Keersmaecker & Kosznovszky. Charlton signed Kaminski, which likely puts their top wage bracket above what Rovers are currently willing to pay also https://www.matchdayfinance.com/post/championship-financial-results-season-2023-24
  23. Our overall salary costs in 23/24 were 31.69% below the Championship average. If we use the median instead of the mean (to strip out the parachute clubs etc) our costs were 15.61% below the average. Clearly some of the difference could be number of employees/other employees but a large part of this will be attributable to the players’ wages.
  24. Today
  25. If they just ran out those 4, they might beat us.
