  2. No he's absolutely correct on the John McGinn story. We had the chance to sign him very early in the window but Mowbray told him he was coming in as back up to what we already had (Smallwood & Evans). He did end up signing for Villa in that window, in mid August. We ended up with Reed on loan instead, who was miles better than those pair but as you say spent most of his time out wide. A very strange manager/character Mowbray, I personally dont particularly like or dislike him, but his constant sniping at the fans when in one of his many death spirals with "not 1995 anymore" ""I'm a development coach" " I dont work on set pieces" "I dont look at league tables" etc always left a bad taste in my mouth. Also the constant complaining that he was away from home all the time like he was doing us a huge favour, he took the job! Then ended up at Birmingham and West Brom years later that were even further away. Also encouraging his own staff leaving the club for Sunderland because "they are a huge tank coming past our knackered little car". People are too gushy over a 3rd division promotion when it comes to Mowbray for me. He did an ok job for around 24-30 months, then massively outstayed his welcome.
  3. Does that mean he'll be training by himself? I'll get my coat.
  4. It absolutely does. Zero ambition for Tony. Happy with mid table.
  5. They can want him all they like. He's only a loan.
  6. It was sarcasm. I'm delighted.
  7. Amateurs tend to do things with care and respect. They also tend to put in a lot of effort. Rovers certainly couldn't be described as either amateur or professional. I would describe them as corporate.
  8. You have let the side down 😉 But it is ok, we can rely upon Elliott Jackson giving us a blow by blow account of events, with full and understanding view on the picture........... oh, nevermind, I see where I have gone wrong there

  11. That seems to me a huge difference. I would love the Venkys to be gone as the club will continue to decline if they stay. But they do meet their financial obligations to both the authorities and employees of the club. Lots of clubs (and other organisations) don't invest and many treat their employees badly - Man Utd, P&O, etc. So although we, as fans of the club, know what is going on, the wider football fan base doesn't see the problem in the same way as they view the Sheffield Weds situation. Did we display much support for Big Club, Coventry, etc. when they had their ownership issues?
  12. I wasn’t awake early enough to know what/if anything happened but the judge is definitely there this time.
  13. Norwich selling arguably their best player to Ipswich. Yank owners.
  14. Some of what I have read makes it seem like the "family" club is being totally destroyed to be more like boot camp? There's good and bad in that but reading the names Garner, Faz, Sir Rog makes me feel perhaps more bad than good
  15. Of course you're always gonna get people that don't have any backroom knowledge, ones that simple arent interested in that and people that are new, which is what I think half our fan base has now become
  16. Legends are ex-players like Alan Shearer,.MGP, Brad Freidal, Bryan Douglas, Tony Parkes, Ronnie Clayton, Tim Sherwood, Colin Hendry, Mark Atkins, Mike Newell
  17. Have you listen to Elliott Jackson's podcast on this? On Elliott Jackson podcast, he said Ismael and Gestede were big fans on Baradji and even after medical problems they want him.

  19. Ipswich didnt really see him play though, no slight on him, it seemingly was an opportunistic temporary deal to bolster the squad but Morsy and Luongo at the time were outstanding. Plus they are about to sign their second midfielder of the summer for £10m. They are fishing above that.
  20. Fickle? You're not kidding, he's gone from captain of the rubber dinghy men to irreplaceable.
  21. None of that warrants hatred, 4 years on, especially when much of those things are speculation on your part. McGinn went to Villa the summer we wanted him. I think you are confusing that with Reed who he played wide. Perhaps the wrong decision, but something that should warrant frustration at the time, no more. My recommendation would be not to watch that podcast, purely for your own health.
  22. I wonder why? At the time there were rumours that there was a midfielder lined up to join us, but he was discouraged because Mowbray said he'd have to wait in line behind Evans and Smallwood and learn how they played etc. There were also rumours that that midfielders name was John Mcginn. How ridiculous does that sound now? But that's how ridiculous things were under Mowbray, ditto him giving Ben Gladwin a new deal purely so he could recuperate from injury, ditto him stockpiling players to the extent he had 14 midfielders to choose from at one point. You could go on and on.
