Toth (6) - couldn't do much about any of the goals. Ribeiro (6) - did ok. doesn't offer much in possession. McLoughlin (4) - stupid challenge for the red. Ended up on the wrong side after long ball from keeper and flick-on to send Sargent clear on goal. Hyam (5) - struggled with Sargent's movement in and around the box. Alebiosu (6) - made some decent forward runs, couldn't find any with his crosses. Tronstad (5) - struggled with the intensity of the game, especially in the first half. Tavares (5) - had a couple of misplaced passes. Never really got going. Hedges (6) - looks sharper than in previous games and even displayed a bit of pace over longer distances. bit unlucky not to get an assist. Kargbo (5) - has plenty of pace but lacks game intelligence. wasted a double-chance in second half. first touch and movement was at times poor. needs to improve. Cantwell (6) - didn't have much to work with in first half as Rovers were put under pressure. bit more involved in the second. Ohashi (5) - doesn't provide a focal point on top. Drifted around to make connections but was rarely a threat inside the penalty box. Match review: thought Norwich dominated the proceedings in the first half with better passing, tempo and movement. Sargent was rather wasteful in front of goal and could've gotten a hat-trick during first 45 minutes. We managed however to get some momentum 70 minutes in and had a good spell for 10-15 minutes which culminated in a missed chance for Hedges. Game over once Sargent fired in his second with barely no time left. Morishita looked interesting when entering the second half, displayed some nice touches.

Nah, better that they've got nothing to do with it. I wouldn't want to give them the opportunity to claim any responsibility for something that took care and effort.

To be honest, in 3 of the last 4 seasons, we have had seasons whereby 3 different managers have done excellent jobs to get us league finishes well above what resources we had at our disposal. The first, we sold Armstrong and reinvested nothing. The second, we spent a whole £4m and then had a disastrous January. And the third, we sold Szmodics, spent a small amount then had another terrible January and then fucked Eustace about before his inferior replacement oversaw a damaging run of constant losses. All 3 seasons had similar patterns of brilliant starts and the wheels coming off. The source of which goes back to India, Venkys are the common denominator, this sort of shit has gone on for 15 years. I am sure youd put the source down to Mowbray, Broughton and then either the court case or Waggott.

So for the first time in history (and probably the last) Pasha was right if he managed to get a bit extra in terms of add ons out of McAnthony and Posh? I feel ill just typing that!

Any idea what our wage bill is now with these new lads? I wonder if the tsf fees are spread a bit or include add ons ? No way will we be spending £2m on a striker when we “could avoid spending anything” as a club (not as a fan obvs). But I mean they could argue we don’t need a striker as we have Leonard so is this new kid on lower wages than Leonard?

Slightly off topic but I don’t understand at all why they bought the club and lied to fans and are £200M deep and just happy to cut costs and sit in mediocrity forever and rot. What’s the point? Just sell it as fans (maybe it’s just me) becoming incredibly bored of the constant fooling fans and what we’ve become.

Cutting the wage bill seems to be the plan but contradicts what Gestede said a few months ago? Sure he will put the record straight soon….. He said some players (with just a year left) would sign extensions - imagine he was more put on the spot as clearly has not been the case. How many first team players have signed a contract extension over the past year or so - just Riberio?

We havent spent anything either in real terms. The Clubs that havent bought anyone probably havent sold anyone either. We've had a huge turnover of players but have managed to shift the vast majority of the higher earners so I would imagine we've vastly reduced the wage bill which was probably the only real goal for this window.

Freebies cost more in wages - especially established Championship freebies. Loans cost a loan fee then you pay their wages for a year. Yes, they're hoping to a) survive and b) unearth a few players they can sell on for a big profit so they can keep the cycle / gravy train going for as long as possible.

Will still be magically £20M wage bill in the accounts tho

Yeh I thought so too but then why buy players? Like why do they spend money ? It seems to make no sense- we could easily bob around with freebies or loans or just renew a contract here or there but to buy a few players for over a £1m each doesn’t seem to fit the notion unless they want us to survive and potentially make money off these players? Like are they hoping we unearth some one who will be sold for a few mill?

Who the fuck are Derby Rovers? If the season carries on as shit as it's started then the only entertainment we've got to look forward to is you tying yourself in knots to justify your pathetic support for anything and everything the club does, regardless of what their actions will yield.

The ambition is to bob around in mid-table Championship obscurity for the lowest possible cost.
