  1. Past hour
  2. sammie needs to play on the centre backs shoulder,he is`nt a hold up man, give him plenty of through balls and runs at the defender and he`s great.not sure we are set up that way.though id`e love to have him back here, though our pittance wage structure means it`s never going to happen
  3. It's all about styles of play and he just doesn't fit theirs but he still makes a nuisance of himself but he was never really a poacher. Here due to the defensive nature and hitting on the break he often had acres of space to attack. Now there he's trying to be first to the knockdowns and half chances in the box and he's being outmuscled.
  4. Maybe, maybe not but after the inconsistencies over the two penalties in the first two games we were due a decision. πŸ˜‚ I thought the referee was poor yesterday. His recognition of foul play was erratic for both teams. His performance was summed up when he got in the way of play twice in about thirty seconds.
  5. Ironically I think #5, the lad that should have been sent off when giving away the free kick, was just about playing him on.
  6. Another conspiracy that turned out to probably not be one so we better enjoy Cantwell whilst he's here because once he's sold/gone there'll be no more 20 grand a week signings of his ilk.
  7. Not that this would happen either way but I could definitely see Szmodics dropping out of their team soon enough. He’s had his year.
  8. Good job the officials did miss his touch as I think he was offside.
  9. You might get your wish.
  10. Even if you take Transfermarkt at face value, we've only spent Β£4.8m on transfers this summer. When Travis and Buckley go (and probably Pears too - thank god) we'll be well in the black on transfer fees. You're right though - their reluctance to loan anyone is because that's like renting a house, you're just throwing away money. They want assets they can flip. I think it's pretty clear the wage budget has shrunk significantly and we'll be there or there abouts in washing our face with the transfer fees (unless they go out and buy someone exceptional between now and the window closing!).
  11. Let's put a cheeky bid in to loan Sammie back from Ipswich πŸ˜‰
  12. If we are taking the higher end estimates of what players have been bought & sold for, eg, Β£3.5M for Brittain, Β£3M for Travis, Β£1M for JRC, Β£1M Buckley, Β£2M Tavares, Β£1M Henrikson, Β£1M Miller, Β£500K McLaughlin,Β£500K Alebiosu, Β£750K De Neve,, then we have probably spent ust over 50% of incoming money from sales
  13. And you wish relegation upon anyone who sacks an underperforming manager. I never said that he should be sacked now. But if they continue to underperform, then just blindly giving him the season is absolutely ridiculous. Obviously its not your club because you wanted Ismael out after 7 games.
  14. Its certainly not a perfect indicator as to how a player will do but its your best bet as to how the player has done to date. I have been criticised in the past for using it as a barometer. Reaction to Alebiousu from St Mirren fans was that he was excellent for them in his short time. Hull fans rated McLoughlin in the main. Kortrijk fans didnt rate De Neve at all and its hard to argue based on the very limited we have seen of all 3 that the first 2 wont be more successful than the latter. Hendriksson is perhaps an example of context too. GAIS fans loved him partly because of his personality but also he like basically all of our signings had been playing in a lesser league. He has looked off the pace so far but its very early days so hopefully he can adjust. I didnt really see any reaction to Baradji and Tavares but the news wasnt really picked up internationally and im guessing that neither club they came from is well supported.
  15. Dunno about that. Hedges had a great game yesterday but he's a poor player overall. He could easily be allowed to leave because he's simply not good enough.
  16. Well deserved MOTM award for Todd Cantwell
  17. This clip is so good. Yuki is miffed that the scoreboard hasn't accredited him with the second goal. He tells everyone exactly that including the fourth official and one of the substitutes actually pats Yuki on the part of his body that out the ball in. πŸ˜‚
  18. Are we? After selling Travis/ Brittain/ JRC etc? (Genuine question - I dont know)
  19. Yep. Arguably the priority position, seems really highly rated, and a relatively high value deal by our standards. What could possibly go wrong? (Apart from Suhail pulling the plug mid flight/us sending in the paperwork late/us mis spelling on the paperwork or us forgetting to press "send".)
  20. If you think that my issue with the accuracy of the account then you clearly havent been reading. Its someone inside the club hency why everything has been right. If you think that someone high up in the club posting transfer information through an ANONYMOUS faceless twitter account, whilst replying and dismissing supposed "doom merchants" and happily trying to paint leaving players in a bad light and the club in a good light. Is good communication, or is acceptable, or is professional. Then you really will swallow any old shit the club comes out with. You clearly are reluctant to criticise the club. Hence why you have read the minutes and havent said a word about what you thought.
  21. The Canaries come to Ewood with the Rovers fans hoping to see the first win at home this season…a Cantwell-inspired Rovers? πŸ€” Here’s the recent results between the two sides.
  22. I think your points above is probably what has happened. I agree with many of them. A lot more to this Travis story then we actually know. I agree that neither have been treated badly. Buckley need to move on when he went to Sheffield Wednesday. He needed first team football for the last 2 years. He was never suited to Eustace or Ismael style of play. Maybe so.
  23. Everton's new stadium is fantastic and what a stadium
  24. We do seem to be spending a bit on transfers but keeping wages low. On the surface of it seems like we are equally financially unsustainable as before, we have just spent the money we can't afford on the fee rather than wage? I guess built into the financial model is a % of these signings will be hits and sold for at least 2x what we paid? And presumably quite quickly - like next summer? Would quite like to have a look at that spreadsheet whereever it is. I guess on Pasha and Rudi's laptops? If we do well with only one signing with any championship experience (McLoughlin) that will be interesting, and confound a lot of conventional ideas about what you need to succeed in this division.
