  1. Past hour
  2. I don't think he's anywhere near good enough or important enough to do so. Apart from being a friend of Adam Wharton and them coming through the academy together he didn't/doesn't offer much more than that. Still young and definitely a player in there somewhere. Just can't stay fit enough to show us. Id favour a loan to see if he can get a decent run of games, because he's nowhere near the first team.
  3. I don't think he's suited to those 3 roles either, doesn't have the attributes to come from deeper. He's more of a poacher. He's suited to playing in a front 2, with a player who causes more trouble with pace or physicality, but the game isn't really played like that anymore.
  4. I think there is more to the Leonard situation than meets the eye. Some sort of a fall out, possibly him saying it as it is with the shenanigans.
  5. How anyone on a Rovers message board could say anything other than Burnley is beyond me, but the red scum are a close second.
  6. And this is why he is gonna have to be good. If he isn't it really opens him up to these jokes.
  7. Today
  8. Those are generally below reports, too. Brittain reported at about 3.5 mill. Travis, the LT claimed about 3 million (not clear how much is inclusive of add ons, though I'd guess at least 2 million guaranteed). JRC was widely reported as 1 mill, not even seen the figure transfermarkt are using anywhere.
  9. Yesterday
  10. Mowbray got a lot of credit there for walking before he could be sacked. I think I even used it myself as a positive for when he was employed here. Then he clung like a bad smell til the end of his contract, when he really shouldโ€™ve left about a year earlier. Then again he wasnโ€™t the problem for us. Never was. Just a symptom.
  11. The incomings are actually more than what some are calculating... We got a million from Chelsea for the young kid. 280k for Dolan. 300k for Telalovic sell on. 750k-1 mill for JRC plus the up to 3.5 million (give or take) fee's for Trav & Brittain, 1 mill for Buckley and a possible fee for Pears... Could take us to comfortably over 10 million in sales. As usual, we are well in the green. They should be forking out for a decent winger the tight fuckers.
  12. What a difference from the first game of the season vs Swansea in (I think) 2021-22. I really thought Buckley (in the โ€˜Rothwellโ€™ role) and Dolan (up front) were going to develop into PL quality players, they were both superb that day.
  13. I happen to think he's a tidy player - albeit suited to the 3 behind the #9 because he's not big / fast enough to lead the line. That said, they know more than us with regards to his medicals - a recurring back injury at 21 is quite scary. Maybe they just don't think he's worth the risk?
  14. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hyam move on this week. A CB in the last year of his contract at 29 with, I'm sure, no desire to renew it. Prior to this year we'd just let him run that down and move on, but Gestede / Ismael are being quite ruthless in that department this summer and selling those players. I also wouldn't be surprised if they're in the market for another RB now they've had a proper look at Miller and decide to shift him to CB.
  15. Also factor in the wages for ACD, Sanderson, Woodrow, Beck and Dennis
  16. He's such a poor athlete. He's clearly quite technically gifted (and yes he plays with no urgency), but good lord he looks like he's running in treacle.
  17. It's looking like Gestede just blurted out something stupid on a podcast because right now it's like for like replacements. One in, one out, with the one in being much cheaper.
  18. Add Pears to that list too. Let's say Brittain was ยฃ3m. Travis will be ยฃ1.5m (+ whatever add ons). We've been told Buckley is circa ยฃ1m. JRC is down as ยฃ800k on Transfermarkt. That's ยฃ6.3m, with whatever we get for Pears and Leonard on top. Factor in the wage savings of Brittain, Travis, Weimann, Batth, Dolan and you're looking at quite a lot of money to play with (by our standards under these owners).
  19. I thought we were told that the transfer budget had been set and that future sales would not change it?
  20. Yeah that's a disgusting way to treat your players - especially Academy graduates!
  21. Brittain ยฃ3m. Travis ยฃ3m. Buckley and JRC an extra ยฃ1m each.
  22. Dolan had at least proven himself to be a good Championship player. Buckley hasnt done that. The type of player whose style makes him look graceful and elegant, but when you watch him for a bit, you realise hes not very good.
  23. I'm sure the club advised of a cยฃ5m budget this summer - and we've spent just under that, so far. Maybe Travis leaving has finally freed up a bit of additional funds.
  24. Maybe go with what the Espanyol fans say as the season goes on, they've no axe to grind.
  25. John Buckley's agent should, in my opinion, be sounding out a move like that. He maybe could do something in a slower and more technical league. Albeit, it would seem that technically he has regressed, on the occasions he appears. Personally, I feel at one stage he was near Adam Wharton's level of technicality, though not, it has proven, the mental side.
  26. Not to be petty, but I could screenshot the comments about Gallagher's debut at Stoke. Prime Duncan Ferguson. But we knew the truth. Happy to be proved wrong. I'm rooting for him, honest. But I find this love-in a bit odd. Can totally get it with Adam W and others. But Dolan. Hmmm, suspicious that some are desperate to be proved 'right'.
  27. One of them is rumoured to be the subject of interest and from what i've seen of Derby fans reaction they'd drive him there. Pears might be seen as an upgrade to them, they seem to think Travis is Tugay they're a pretty desperate bunch at the min.
