  1. Past hour
  2. I suspect Michalski might be in the Tyjon boat of needing to integrate them into the first team now to maximise value and persuade them to resign. Could be difference between the 1 mil Arsenal are supposedly offering and a few million in a couple of years if we can get them to sign without an Ash Phillips clause.
  3. Arguably, Patrik Andersson would probably be the best we've had, based purely on what he achieved after his spell with us.
  4. Marcus Olsson Marcus Antonsson Yasir Ayari. He should played more here. He had quality
  5. I would've go that far. Not saying the Swedish players we've had have all been terrible. But if I was to name a 50 strong squad of my all time favourite players, I very much doubt there'd be a swede anywhere near it.
  6. Well be was better than Martin Dahlin in blue and white put it that way.
  7. https://x.com/JPercyTelegraph?s=09 Michalski is very highly rated and has played some England games for their younger age groups. So I'm happy to have second choice but if Pears does go then we need another keeper. Clearly Michalski has impressed Ismael and the staff for him being ahead of Pears Every club does it. That's good to hear. I've never seen play but I'm happy how we had Brittain's replacement in the building and agreed before Brittain left. After listening to his interview he seems very focus and driven. Looking forward to seeing him play
  8. I've (amazingly) managed to avoid all cricket scores/threads through this series and have watched the highlights every evening for every test without knowing the score. What a fantastic series and what an advertisement for the 5 day game.
  9. Call me old fashioned, I've waited for Adam Armstrong's direct replacement for a long time!
  10. You never know, mate... Whilst I loved Brittain- what a tidy footballer, great feet.. However wasn't the most athletic... there should be plenty of guile and aggression next season.. Think it's imperative we keep Travis (which we won't!)
  11. He didn't want to sell him, he said they offered him a deal but he wouldn't sign it and wanted to go. Regarding Miller, I'll have to watch him a few times at least before making a judgement.
  12. looking back there has been some pretty hard aussie footballers that have played in england doug hodgson, sheff utd centre back, used to play aussie rules and brought some of it to bramall lane our own lucas neill was never afraid of the odd over the ball tackle!!! kevin muscat, who was clearly not right in the brain dept i know ryan nelson was a kiwi but he was`nt to be messed with either
  13. It won't take a great deal to be as good an actual defender as Brittain imo but we've lost a great attacking threat and very good all round footballer....another. So now it's all about how Ismael makes best use of what he has i don't want to see another Mowbray effort trying to turn average full backs with no pace into flying wingbacks and getting targeted and caught out way too often.
  14. I agree with that. However, our next rumoured incoming is Swedish, and we've had far less success with players from that part of the world.
  15. Has anybody clicked the link to read the article..
  16. Do you think Ismael will last to see Feb 2026 ? Cos I don't !!
  17. Completely agree, if Rovers did similar to teams like Boro, and reinvested circa 70% of fees received, they would be in a much healthier position both on the pitch, and financially As it is, we would probably be thinking all of our Christmases have come at once if 17% was reinvested
  18. Well itโ€™s actually the model that we are aiming for (unless we get promoted) The problem with the model is the owners/pasha donโ€™t want to re-invest correctly/significantly enough for it to work long term
  19. we are not allowed to push on,jdt and eustace wer`nt having any of it,it only worked with mowbray because he was content with the plan of no ambition,i can see val getting ****** off, especially if we are well up the table come christmas and they ruin the january transfer window as usual
  20. Championship winner: Soton Runner-up: Ipswich Semi-finalists: Sheffield United, Norwich, Leicester, WBA Relegated: Wednesday, Oxford, Hull Rovers finish: 16th First manager to go: Jakirovic, Hull PL winners: City Wild card: A former Rover comes out as a Trump supporter, dividing the fan base.
  21. Thatโ€™s the issue though, the second any of our players become half decent theyโ€™re gone. Itโ€™s a vicious circle that we just arenโ€™t going to get out of any time soon.
  22. And I wish Root wouldnโ€™t do it . โ€ฆ that shot has got him out a few times. Heโ€™s such a good player he doesnโ€™t need to invent non cricket shots. Watched the โ€œhighlightsโ€ on the news. Wtf was Smith doing walking down the pitch to the pace bowler? Idiotic Bazball mentality in the context of the game when all that was required was nurdling ones and twos.
  23. Absolutely bizarre to think that out of the team that did so well for the vast majority of last season, we've lost the manager, three out of four of the back line (Beck, Batth and Brittain) Dolan and Weimann who was a useful squad player. With no doubt more to follow. Clubs generally tend to implode when they've been relegated and get picked off. Not when they've had a generally successful season. This lot dont give a rat's arse do they. We're now unwilling to pay the going rate for decent Championship players which will only end one way. Then, when we get relegated to League 1and revenue falls off a cliff due to reduced gate receipts and loss of the Championship TV deal, how long before we're then unwilling to pay the going rate for the better players in League 1? Rinse and repeat. Happy times.
  24. Depends what sort of wage he is on, If "some European semi pro side" cannot afford to match them, then he might fancy sitting things out, in which case we would need to pay his contract up * Sending him away on loan would not remove him from the esc calculation, he would need to be off the books completely
  25. Looks like a physically strong fella good height too, fingers crossed for him does genuinely seem like a good lad too
