  1. Past hour
  2. Covers all the topics that the regime and the local media have done their best to avoid and the head-in-sand brigade pretend aren't there. Brilliant stuff again
  3. JDT brought 2 guys in with him (Remy Reijnierse & Ben Rosen), Eustace also brought 2 (Matt Gardiner & Keith Downing), Ismael has so far only brought in 1 (Dean Whitehead). So stands to reason (which is always dangerous when it comes to Rovers these days) there is a space. It was rumoured he wanted Murray as part of his backroom team when he signed, but Venkys/Waggott/Pasha refused to sanction his pay off.,.. from Eastbourne in the National League South! Which I assume was about the price of a fish supper Sounds like Murray has worked his notice, so I am adding 1+ 1 together
  4. Its really difficult to compare against other players as you are never comparing like for like. I still dont get this obsession about England under 21 caps. Its better looking at the variables internally to determine whether it was likely that we got a fair value. We was desperate so that massively weakens our negotiating power. We sold as early as we could so that limits his value. We sold in January where teams are far less likely to spend big. Common sense really.
  5. Can't possibly have anymore space for another first team coach
  6. Value and worth is only based on what the market says it is, is he twice as ‘good’? Course not, but alas assets of distressed sellers just aren’t worth as much.
  7. Wharton was the stand out young player in the Championship and in his first season we just missed out on the playoffs and he played very well too. Do you really think Huijsen is worth over twice as much?
  8. Is he worth over twice as much?
  9. Today
  10. Maybe back JDT and try and get in the PL ourselves then, then we’d have been getting 50 mil… oh silly me, we don’t have that kind of billionaire owners of a Championship football club
  11. Hmmm, maybe you don’t sell to them then?
  12. It depends who’s doing the recognising. Even as a kid at Rovers he was at a Tugay level of passing. That was pretty obvious.
  13. who says that a club paying a higher fee would have agree 15% sell on?
  14. That’s not what I called him, but how we could do with him now.
  15. most likely luck more than judgement but i think we`de have been in oblivion if it had`nt been for last 3 decent managers (mowbray, jdt and eustace) not sure who picked them but all of them in their own way have saved us from a complete nosedive through the leagues imo it`s damning indicement of how generally badly the club is run as 2 of them have both walked away and the other one did`nt even get the sentiment of being offered a new deal, despite him being here for 5 years, whether ismael continues to keep us in the division i do not know,i suspect however he`ll do the same as his predecesors and walk away as well, anyone with any idea of progression is in the wrong job here
  16. The problem is it’s the fans that missed out. Only seeing one of our own and a generational talent playing for the team he supports, for a very short time. Not only that, the lad didn’t want the move and had the courtesy to sign a contract, to ensure that the club got at least a half decent fee.
  17. Imagine he will be at Rovers as a coach in a few weeks (Ismael connection from their time at Barnsley & West Brom)
  18. The best 'deal' would have been to have backed our manager 12 months prior when the PL was achievable, and again the following summer, and again the following January, whilst Wharton was here. Had we done any of those things there's a decent chance we'd have got to the PL, kept Wharton and now be naming our price for him like Palace can. None of the above is far fetched or ludicrous stuff. It was there to be done and our owners flushed it down the toilet because they don't care. So I'm glad they've missed out on millions on Adam, it's the least they deserve for their behaviour.
  19. Of course, it would never have been a sky high fee in January 2024, nobody said it should’ve been. He was still not a household name at this level, oh and we were a distressed seller with cash flow problems, so how could we have got anymore there and then. Obviously a normal club with billionaire owners wouldn’t have been conducting a fire sale in the first place and would have instead been selling post he had developed further and become the league’s hot prospect on their terms at some time down the line, not the buyers.
  20. Just looking through the booklet that was anonymously printed back in 2016. Nothing changes.
  21. I think physical toughness is a much more important attribute down here (general weakness in our squad for a long time now, as it happens) and there’s more emphasis on “protecting the players” in the top division. It basically nullifies his main weakness and turns it into a potentially exploitable benefit (being physically overwhelmed while shielding the ball to win free kicks in wide positions). He’s got a lot to learn and his pace without the ball is questionable but I can absolutely see him becoming a Premier League player.
  22. We already are with the three idiots running the club so it isn't surprising!
  23. jason roberts,or jigsaw as we used to call him🙂
