  1. Past hour
  2. Its been written by Michael Hodkinson Rev,Rovers fan who did the 'NO NAY NEVER' Book. The bit from the Rao's is them gushing to say how proud they are to be connected with our Club, yadda, yadda yadda...quite gut wrenching tbh. As you can imagine from around 2010 the Book err thins out a bit!
  3. Id say the top picture is clearly wrong and the ground was lower down in what appears to be another empty plot to the bottom right. The plot in the yellow box has a slope of around 45 degrees!
  4. You would think this is an ideal starting case for the new EFL legislator.
  5. Am I right in thinking the book is part of a generic series written by a Company who produce anniversary books for Clubs? If so it would have been far better to have been written by an eminent Club historian like Harry Berry or Mike Jackman.
  6. Comments on the above O2G? Id say its clear that for some time the FF has been a vehicle for more harm than good even before the recent controversy about the minutes. However now if minutes are now also being regularly censored and/or doctored as a matter of course then everyone should simply refuse to attend and go public with the reason why.
  7. I want a thread on the factual errors/inaccuracies…👀
  8. England losing 2-0.Tyjon still on the bench
  9. Still a small number of these beauties in stock - PM me for details…especially if you are a Medium (38”) 😉 ⚪️🔵
  10. Take a look again at the four timeline pics in the link below, clearly shows where the ground was, there can be no doubt. http://englandfootballonline.com/TeamStadia/England/EngLeamington.html
  11. Maybe it's just me but we always seem to play these midweek away and lose. But confidence will be high after a great away performance where we have generally looked better than we do at home. Bristol 2-2 Rovers
  12. You probably won't have had a chance to read it yet SG but Im guessing the 2 pages is like a "tribute" to the Rao's and not the summary of their 15 years of ownership? I wonder what the over-riding perspective on that is in the book? Is it fairly critical or neutral?
  13. A Tuesday night away game at a ground we rarely win at. Yeah, not much confidence in this one.
  14. Gradually becoming one of our star players with Cantwell and Abeiosu. Does anyone know when his contract is up as be a shame to lose him next summer if going into his last 12 months?
  15. Arthur Lee & Love - Five String Serenade the Mazzy Star cover is great too..
  16. There are some footballers out there, not necessarily at Rovers, who honestly seem to be having a laugh throughout their careers. They're constantly injured or look uninterested, yet somehow they're fit enough to fly out for international duty, play a full 90 minutes, and then come back acting like they couldn't care less. As for Ryan Alebiosu, it's a completely different story. Even though his absence would leave us with a major issue, I’d be genuinely thrilled for him. He’s given us more than we could have asked for when he first signed, and he absolutely deserves every bit of success that comes his way due to how brilliant he's been. If he gets the call-up, I’ll be cheering him on and hoping he absolutely smashes it.
  17. Today
  18. Just got my Anniversary Book. Good content but the two pages dedicated to the Rao's can go and get fooked, puts a real downer on it...the full page picture of the Brothers Grimm stood laughing cuts deep like a knife for me personally.
  19. Great find. More evidence the ground started at one end just the other side of Granville Rd by Leamington Rd Church. At the other end there's no earthly way it could have stretched any further than where St. Silas's Rd is now.
  20. Probably great news for us generating a transfer fee too. But he's our best player, and a really difficult role to replace as it's so demanding physically and technically, so would be a massive miss for us.
  21. No worries, Miller can move over to wing back and Carter can step in.... oh never mind, I see the flaw in my thinking
  22. Two games tonight for our loanees Edmondson - score/update Pratt - score/update - his loan was today extended until 3rd January
  23. That would be a big problem.
  24. Someone else mentioned that there was a Rover St named after the ground after it wascobbled over which was later renamed Wellfield Rd as it still is today. Wellfield Rd is a very flat bit but Im guessing it would be slightly further over towards East Lancs Cricket Club than where the pitch was or at least would have marked the boundary of the ground on that side.
