Excellent result and away performance. Arguably more pleasing than Hull in a way as there was no jeopardy at 3 up against a side ravaged with illness. We managed today really professionally and comfortably. Wharton was man of the match, absolutely brilliant. Both him and Carter did very well considering their lack of fitness. Tronstad was also excellent until he went off, getting back to his best. Alebiosu again was very good too down the right. Morishita certainly had an impact on his debut and looks a talent. Not convinced he is a wide player though, there are a number in the squad who I think would be better suited to a back 3, but selling Hyam with no replacement (and pretending it was the plan all along) robs us of that as a serious regular option. Gudjohnsen showed some really nice signs off the bench. Obviously until we see what hes like in terms of when we need a goal, then the jury is out, but he did well today and I liked the look of him. Kargbo as he often does didnt offer that same intelligent play. Miller did well coming on in a back 3 and that position suited him. Tavares was poor again and with the Tronstad potential injury and bizarre Baradji situation that position is a concern.

Going to keep it short... Wharton was absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. Cantwell class. Carter also class. I'm going to say it.... Ryan Alebiosu is better player than Brittain. Quicker, stronger, better defender and a better crosser aswell. What a player.

Had to laugh at the Watford commentary after all that's been said. "Blackburn look like what they are, an experienced Championship side"

Great 3 points and great performance. Don’t think we have played badly in any game I’ve seen us in yet and with more luck have more points in the bag. Early days but you can see which of the new signings look the part and which don’t. Promising signs from Gudjohnsen in his cameo.

That was a huge 3 points ahead of what looks like a really difficult game next week against Ipswich. They brought off the bench Sami, Jack Clarke, the lad they got from Norwich for £10m and the Norwegian lad they paid £17.5m for. Even in the championship it's becoming a 2 tiered league, we can't compete with the likes of these , Birmingham and Wrexham , as sad as that is

Boom Boom! Yes we did. Fair play, I definitely wasn't expecting that. Glad to hear Wharton apparently played well, I've always had him down as our best CB when fit. Keeping him and Carter fit and Gudjonssen being half decent will be crucial to our season Id say.

Delighted with the 3 points, expected us to screw this one up, Watford away was always tough. Surprisingly they hardly threaten today. Positives : Wharton & Carter defensive partnership off to a good start. Wharton my motm. Morishita's winner on his debut, should had scored two after that screamer hit bar. Alebiosu looked good, adapting well to the Championship. Trondstad solid in the holding midfield, Mr reliable in midfield. Negatives : Ohashi looked too weak to lead the frontline, can't hold up the ball, and not quick enough. Matter of time Gudjohnson will be main centre forward. Tavares, one good pass from him, the rest was awful. Looked a long way from Championship standard. Subs : Gudjohnson looked promising

Im pleased for Weimann. Couldn't really care less how Derby do either way.

Wharton mom. Mori, Yuki, Cantwell all good control, intelligent, showed with the goal. Ryan works well for the team, should have been sent off. Gud looks promising. Game management v.good. After first 10, Watford were dire. We have enough to do ok.

Will be nice for Ismael to get one over on his old employers!

It felt like an early season must not lose game, and we delivered the goods.

I'll bite in that i didn't think he anything like as bad as the comments on here suggest (today only). Will really struggle against teams that don't give him any space/time and needs Tronstad (or similar) next to him but i would rather him than Buckley (given our other CM signing is expected to be the replacement for Travis)

Only plus from Tavares was he actually lasted the full 90. Probably because he was a passenger most of the game. Early days though.

Wharton was my MoM, he did exactly what we needed and was dominant and aggressive. I like the new lads, the Viking isn’t easily knocked off the ball (unlike Ohashi), Miller is gonna be a fan favourite and Morishita finished well. Tavares was the only disappointment I think.

Like most here I think tavares have been poor the first few matches and it has been hard to see What he is offering. That said, today he got better as the game progressed. He looks too casual at times. But I think he covers quite a lot of ground, has a good pass on him and good ball control. Hopefully will Get better if he stays in the side.
