  1. Past hour
  2. Have they? Or is it Pasha? And so long as the Vs aren't unduly pestered they are happy.
  3. Carter gets injured - miller can play cb (whether you agree or disagree he has played there for hibs) Alebiosu injured - TGH / Montgomery midfield will be covered by tronstad Tavares Montgomery Baradji forshaw (when returning from injury) Lack of depth isn’t classed by numbers it’s classed by quality something Iv stated we don’t have which is my concern but taking quality off the table there is enough numbers there as Iv stated it’s not the way I would have went about it I’d have liked a direct hyam replacement but over 25 players in the squad is enough to cover the team until Jan again it’s the quality in question
  4. Its based on European numbering As the vast majority of the top coaches & managers from the past 20 odd years are European, the labelling has stuck, and now, given the amount of time it has been, younger English coaches have grown up with the European numbering, If we had a spate of Brazilian managers in the country, then it would change and people would end up calling left backs, "6s", "3s" would be centre backs, and a 5 would be the holding midfielder

  6. Its being done because of cost cutting. We have historically had squads that have been unable to sustain performance over a season due to a lack of depth. Versatility is a useful tool but you cant compromise on numbers. Say if Carter and Alebiosu get injured. You then need a natural right back at centre back, a midfielder at right back and then you are potentially short in midfield. 23 registered players, including one injured for an unknown period. Adam Forshaw who shouldnt be starting games and is injured. Other players with bad injury history. Makhtar Gueye. Its a long old season, now that versatility is a tool we can use, when you get months into the season and youve got more injuries, its very thin and you have 2 spare spaces.
  7. If the midfielder who is also the right back cover has to play right back due to the right back being injured, and then the midfield cover needs to play centre back due to suspension of a central defender, who will then cover in midfield? Aynsley Pears? 🙂
  8. Disagree….its not the approach I would have taken or wanted but of course you can sign a player who can cover 2 positions versatile players are common and do cover other positions instead of direct replacements. It’s not something new and certainly not just rovers who do it again though the problem I’m having is more the ability of players rather than the amount of them. As Iv said before 23 registered plus academy players is enough or should be enough
  9. Shocking isn't it. £18.75 for 2 adults, 2 children. Get Ewood full, all 4 sides.
  10. Seing the Gestede interview he doesn’t come across very well imo. He seems quite defensive at times. I don’t know if its because English is not his first language or if it is because he has some arrogance about him. To me it’s pretty obvious that Venkys have set a wage limit in place. I think the reason for Travis, Hyam etc. leaving is as simple as money. Simple as that. They can get more money elsewhere. And ofcourse they can see that the club is cutting wages. Most times in football the winners are the ones who pay to get the best players. Rudy calls it risk assessment. BBC calls it a gamble but it would be fair to say that there is a lot of insecurity about how strong our squad really is. Can you really fault the likes of Hyam for wanting to go a highly ambitious (and annoying) club like Wrexham. A club filled with ambition and excitement as opposed to Rovers. A club in a constant decline. Oh and his wages will be higher as well. I repeat what I said the other day: Venkys are the main culprits.
  11. It is now less than 2 months to the 150th birthday of probably the most momentous moment in the history of the town of Blackburn. We were originally promised a year of celebration of our World famous club. Sadly we haven’t a clue what will be happening to celebrate OUR Club. All we have had so far is: - the promise of a anniversary book (the Club announced this about 4 weeks back but have been quiet on the subject ever since; I wonder why🧐). - an anniversary logo that could have been better designed by a 5 year old in an infant schools art class. - a celebration game against Derby Rovers at prices to put off most casual fans. - some nice flat caps handed out pre match to stars of the past. Is anyone aware of any other formal Rovers 150 Anniversary activities?
  12. It's no rumour it's fact the only thing for debate is if they'll cash in during the Jan window. They won't offer him anything remotely good enough to tempt him to stay but for benefit of the lemmings they'll spout the usual... 'offered contract, didn't want to stay'.... 'Did all we could'.. This Outer Mongolian Defensive mid from the Belgium second tier really wants to be here and we want players who are onboard with the project so say bye bye Sonny !
  13. Spin is easy isn't it? When you have enough people, enough of them are going to be gullible enough to swallow your shit, especially if that's what they want to believe. Which they do, because there is no getting away from Venkys so they'd rather convince themselves everything is fine.
  14. My point is that versatility is good but not instead of signing players for each position. You cant sign one player to cover 2 positions INSTEAD of signing 2 players. It wouldnt take a "massive influx" of injuries for us to be badly short. We have had bigger squads in recent years and have still not had enough to avoid a massive second half of the season dip.
  15. I would replace "some distrust", with "complete distrust".
  16. Diaz returns to being Brereton on the international stage.
  17. Don't know just modern football
  18. Chelsea have been charged by the FA for 74 offences of alleged breaches of FA agent regulations and third party investment in players. From the article the paragraph below caught my eye. My initial reaction is to draw comparisons with what we know about our owners dealings. Purely hypothetical on my part but it could explain why they don't want any potential buyer poring over their own dealings. Sky Sports News' chief correspondent, Kaveh Solhekol, said due diligence carried out by Chelsea's owners, BlueCo, during the takeover process "is believed to have uncovered payments connected to transfers to offshore companies and players' families and representatives.
  19. More than that really when you factor in Goddard, Michelski, Montgomery, Tyjon etc who don't need to be registered. Gestede himself also mentioned Atcheson in his interview. Completely agree its the lack of quality that will do us this season.
  20. But why would they play there at the same time? I don’t get that argument obviously if there’s a massive influx of injuries which could happen anytime to any team then of course I think have 23 players for 11 positions is fine what I’m concerned about is the quality of the player
  21. What was wrong with the old system?
  22. I like how Miller is now a centre back and was always Hyams replacement they just thought he would have left sooner. Even though he was clearly Brittain's replacement earlier in the window.
  23. It's the new system. Number 6 is now a holding midfielder
