  1. Past hour
  2. I like how Miller is now a centre back and was always Hyams replacement they just thought he would have left sooner. Even though he was clearly Brittain's replacement earlier in the window.
  3. It's the new system. Number 6 is now a holding midfielder
  4. I think Anderson does have that defence splitting pass in him but he doesn't do it as well as Wharton
  5. I reckon Ismael will come good again given time, remember last season, was it 8 games without a win when he first joined, and 9 unbeaten at the end of the season (including friendlies). My only worry is selling Hyam, when we could have had him for another season. Let's hope we can get it together in defence.
  6. I can answer all of them, not in terms of what I really believe, but in terms of spin and lies, that some of the more gullible amongst the fan base will swallow. Why do the senior players who have left prefer to be at another club rather than at Blackburn Rovers? They either decided not to renew their contracts and we did not want to risk losing them for nothing, as in the past, or in some cases they wanted to be closer to home. The players who we have been brought in are cheaper options but are they better than the ones they are replacing? Only time will tell. we had a budget to work to and believe we have worked to that and strengthened the team, at the same time. The Championship is now stronger and more competitive so why are the club reducing wages, which we all know usually relates to success on the pitch? We also believe we are stronger and more versatile than last year and expect once the new players have bedded, in they will show their quality. Why no mention of appointing a new CEO for a multi million pound organisation? We will appoint one in good time, but in the meantime, we have an adequate and capable COO instead. Why do the fans want you out Rudy? Have you asked them? It is only a small number and the rest are giving the regime and the players their full backing. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. It is rumoured Tronstad will join the Ewood exodus next Summer. It's a massive rebuilding job at Ewood, with all the outgoings.
  8. So reading between the lines of the Gestede interview. A few questions: Why do the senior players who have left prefer to be at another club rather than at Blackburn Rovers? The players who we have been brought in are cheaper options but are they better than the ones they are replacing? The Championship is now stronger and more competitive so why are the club reducing wages, which we all know usually relates to success on the pitch? Why no mention of appointing a new CEO for a multi million pound organisation? Why do the fans want you out Rudy? Have you asked them? Until the club engages with the fans to explain fully the reasons behind the constant change behind the scenes and issues that may be present Iโ€™m afraid there will be some distrust of what is being communicated
  9. Hi guys , i hope its ok to post this here, a short video from a neutral on Venkys . Appreciate your time and would love to get Rovers fans opinions in the video comments, youtube link below Venkys dreadful owners of Blackburn football club
  10. Today
  11. They signed Miller in advance because they knew they were nudging Hyam towards the door they'll have known there was genuine interest. He was never going to sign a poxy contract and they'll have expected that but in the event he didn't go then you have a fresh player who can cover 2 positions. Some will say hey that's great planning but others will see through it for what it is, a cheap replacement and another likely downgrade.
  12. But versatility doesnt compensate for having less numbers. One of 4 centre backs is actually a right back and cant play both at the same time. TGH cant play right back and in midfield at the same time. Neither can Montgomery although I suspect he cant do either to a satisfactory level at this stage. Even before quality, we dont have enough numbers. Before also considering injury records.
  13. Have to agree on this one yes But Iv been stating this from the start Val is their perfect yes man heโ€™s come in goalposts have moved (as in previous seasons) and heโ€™s just falling in line - canโ€™t complain but itโ€™s all out there now they are happy they see the current squad given time be better than last seasons so they canโ€™t hide behind any failures going forward
  14. I find it mental the audacity he has to say Miller was signed as a CB. The literal announcement was that he's a RB Brittains replacement. His interview he even states he loves to get up and down the pitch. So who's lying? Has Miller been sold a lie that he would play RB. Or was his whole announcement interview a lie and Gestede told him he'd be a CB for the club?
  15. Can only go by the here and now tgh and miller the likely moving pieces arenโ€™t injuredโ€ฆyet
  16. Plenty of people will buy it and those in power have summed up their total lack of brain power to a tee. It just makes it all the more unbearable for those of us capable of forming the most basic thoughts and being able to see what is right in front of our faces. Hey ho, at the end of the day I don't care anymore. The lemons have got exactly what they wanted. I'll take interest again once this cancer has been removed but until then I will continue to not give a single fuck.
  17. Course not, and thatโ€™s exactly what they want. Same will be for the rest of the club when the academy, the training ground, the Riverside โ€˜isnโ€™t viable for a League 2 club with small crowds and incomeโ€™. The womenโ€™s team is the canary in the coal mine.
  18. Quality and fitness. There's no point having versatility in the treatment room. JRC was often highlighted as someone who provided versatility in the squad but you could only have him in 5 game bursts before getting injured.
  19. What a desperately unlucky club we are. I suppose that's what happens when you are owned by billionaires and located in a total backwater like Blackburn (less than an hours drive from Cheshire/Manchester and same commute as players for Liverpool/Man City/Man Utd). I mean in the space of 6 months we've lost our manager to Derby because he wanted to be nearer to home so much so that he cut short a 3 year contract and dropped a chance at PL promotion to join a club at high risk of relegation to League One. We've lost our mainstay CB to Wrexham on deadline day because he wanted to move on elsewhere (despite publicly stating the opposite earlier in the summer) We've lost our mainstay CM captain who had been with the club since being a teenager because he 'wanted a change' and move down the country to a Derby side unlikely to be any more than mid-table this season. We've lost Batth who played every time he was available last season, who had zero qualms about joining Sunderland, Norwich and Rovers quite recently, apparently because he wanted to be closer to home at Derby. We've lost Weimann for the same reasons despite him having about 5 years down in Bristol. We're now publicly preparing for Tronstad's departure because he wants to go back to Scandinavia (despite him publicly stating earlier this year that he was very happy here and would love to stay). Awful back luck really. Shame. Also quite odd how this misfortune doesn't seem to occur at any other club in such significant, large numbers, even clubs that haven't got billionaire owners and those based in far flung locations like Norwich or the NE. Ever so slightly convenient that it is absolutely nothing at all to do with any of Venkys, their henchman, Gestede, Ismael or anyone else working for the Club. No sir, nothing to see here. If ever you want to know what idiots they take us for just think about the above. Their assessment of supporter intelligence is such that they think people will buy all this. Sadly some will, and those people deserve what is coming.
  20. I actually donโ€™t think heโ€™s wrong on โ€˜numbersโ€™ itโ€™s the quality or lack of that I fear rb - alebiosu / miller / tgh / Montgomery cm - tronstad / Tavares / Montgomery / tgh / Baradji / forshaw cb - carter / Wharton / miller / McLaughlin so numbers wise with versatility we are ok but the elephant in the room is the quality in the numbers and to date (early days) itโ€™s not been great
  21. It's another rebuilding job, and getting the newcomers to click as a team. We could do with another Jack Walker to build a strength in depth squad.
  22. He'd be out of his depth in a puddle, never mind his current job.
  23. It was a big mistake selling Dominic Hyam on the last day of the transfer window. He would have stayed for the season, but we would have had nothing for him on a free. Let's hope we've players in the squad to fill his boots.
