  1. Past hour
  2. The thing is, there was a big gap between him failing a medical and then us revisiting the deal, and also a further gap between him signing and us knowing what was going on. If they were so intent on signing him, could this recuperation not have started far sooner? Ismael said he might be back after the next international break but maybe even the one after that. Basically he cant put a timescale on it. Ill be amazed if we see him before Christmas. An utterly pointless signing and within a squad lacking quality in depth. Although according to one or two, its a very clever bit of business.
  3. Baradji out "medium term" according to VI. Laughable transfer. Call it sensible to loan him instead of buying all you want but I'll be surprised if he plays 10 games this season. Some replacement for Trav.
  4. Mowbrays very system of developing players involves playing them out of position and moving them around trying to make systems fit them and vice versa. After watching his methods for 5 years it was very obvious. AA, Dack, Buckley, Giles, Gallagher to name just a few, sometimes it worked sometimes not and was often detrimental to the team itself. He even said he wasn't that bothered about results or league position as long as he felt individuals were developing and presumably increasing in value by gaining appearances and proving flexibility. He did bring in some big fees and should have had a few more big sales if it wasn't for various factors. End of the day that was his remit from the owners, not promotion but i guess at Sunderland and Brum that was on the agenda unlike the mid table target here.
  5. It was all compounded by the lateness of the decision which left us with no chance of bringing in a replacement. Craziness and completely unjustifiable.
  6. If it 'works' and by that i mean we avoid anything catastrophic for a couple of seasons - unlike the last 2 times they conducted massive player and personnel overhauls to bring money in and get costs down - then Gestede and Ismael will be deemed very good at their jobs. In Pune at least and whatever place the middleman COO calls home. So much so that they'll probably go and do it all again.
  7. I think it is clear that the sole objective and barometer of success for the summer transfer window was to successfully offload certain players - those with cash value, expiring contracts and larger wages. The timing, impact, effect of those departures totally immaterial and of no concern to the owners or their henchmen. We are now a club that measures success based on how much (if anything) it can bring in from selling important players and whether it can cut costs further. That's it. Quite clear from the interviews with Gestede and Ismael that there is no footballing objective here - no pressure on either to deliver certain results, league position, points, improvement. If we limp our way to 21st they will be more than happy ahead of another summer and year in the job.
  8. A contract for a player like that coming in on a pay as you play set up can never be straightforwards. Be very interesting to see a breakdown of the particular deal 🤔
  9. And they are busy trying to sell it as a reasonable decision! Also, we have history of selling two centre halves and relegation..... Gestede is a gobshyte...I just can't listen to him without needing to find a hole to be sick in...
  10. What a bit of business that was. Replacement for Travis. Henriksson also out with a broken hand.
  11. Baradji ‘medium-term’ injury according to VI. This one has dark agents written all over it.
  12. We are moving ever closer to a new online store on here with some exciting possibilities 👌
  13. Brilliantly put and very heartfelt.
  14. Today
  15. The pot calling the kettle black
  16. I have said before, it needs to be an unofficial fans takeover day and the closer it gets to the fixture, the more obvious it is, that is the only way, it will get the recognition it deserves. I recently bought two retro shirts off this sire, one for me and one for my son. Get something designed around the 150 and let's push that to deal, instead of this flimsy T Shirts that look like they will fall apart after one wash.
  17. My mates son played with him at Barrow and the same goes, although he was the richest apparently.
  18. Gally on the right wing.
  19. Definitely could see a Bullseye kit being an absolute classic still remembered in 50 years. If the club doesnt make one BRFCS should! Could use one of those concept kit manufacturers.
  20. Condolences. That was a lovely write-up.
  21. This new “ strategy”from the people making all the decisions will boil down to results on the field. If they fail they will get so much abuse and they’ll all deserve it. I don’t think there is one single person at the top of this club with a modicum of success at doing what they’re being asked to do. Rovers are in a really bad position. The people the fans want to be here are being willingly shipped out while those with nothing of substance to offer are immovable. It can’t last and succeed.
  22. I had a friend who played for Aberdeen youth team at the same time as myles anderson and said he was comfortably the worst player in the squad.
  23. But they are owned by one of the top 10 wealthiest groups of people in the Championship. Who've shown they can easily underwrite enough losses to make the club compete with those outside the parachute money but from bigger catchment area's. However their reluctance to employ higher calibre people and install enough ambition and foresight in running the club means crowds remain lower as do income streams outside of player sales. Coupled with long periods of lack of backing leading to further financial problems, off field issues and good players not wanting to stay means they constantly lose ground on similar competitors and renders the whole 'owned by billionaires' model rather pointless.
  24. If they were serious tickets would be on sale now for the Derby game with every tom, dick and harry associated with the club being sent promotional material, adverts, offers to try and get them back in for such a special occasion. This includes everyone on the database, lapsed season ticket holders, and the general local population of East Lancashire - posters, digital adverts, etc. What we will get is tickets being put on sale 3 weeks before the game at Category A prices with standard 'efforts' made on twitter and Facebook and that's your lot. That they are seemingly expecting to be able to rinse people for hospitality for a 12:30 game against Derby County, suffering the humiliation of our former management team, captain and numerous other players turning up, tells it's own story.
  25. Sorry to hear about your sad loss SC and hope you can treasure the memories you had and that gives you a degree of comfort.
  26. Everything appears so low Key about this Celebration...almost as if being done deliberately. Surely, that could never be?🤔
  27. Let’s not forget that in the past, things were a little bit strange when it came to transfers, in the early years of Venkys ownership. The one constant in all that time has been Pasha, so is this the reason we have seen so many transfers, this season. There is still something strange going on and the bullshit that has come out over the last few days, heightens my suspicions. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2030832/Nick-Harris-Agent-paid-1-65m-deal-player-cost-400-000.html
