Genuinely don't see any problems tonight, even with Ismael I was confident of a win. We are poor, but this lot are the worst championship side in many a year. Of course I really hope we win to get us out of the bottom 3 but not sure I can do with the no doubt constant crowing from the club about it for the rest of the week.

Duffy’s a prickly character by some accounts. Left his club in Ireland after winning the championship after some sort of bust up. I don’t think he’s what we need right now and would his name be touted if he wasn’t an ex Rovers favourite? Eustace went to Derby about the same time last season and got them out of relegation trouble. We need a pragmatic hard headed manger like him

Local or not, Gerrard wouldn't come here under any circumstances. Genuinely no clue who they will get. No doubt there will be plenty clamouring for Johnson when we win tonight.

It really isnt weird though. Deadline day was right after an important home match and before an even more important home match against Sheff Weds where only a win is good enough. It was necessary to do something.

Duffer is/was my favourite player along with Ripley. Don't want to see him anywhere near this club again under the current circumstances.

The only thing I want is a manager than is die hard and gets the players to go to war every match. There are enough battlers in the squad to ensure this. I also want a manager that has a bit of tactical nous and wants to stretch the opposition to give more freedom going forward. and I DONT want a manager who plays from side to side and tries to get a hopeless cross in.

I wouldn't under estimate Sheff Wed, who have give one or two top teams a scare.

Did anyone else experience issues trying to order their 'Waterlogged abandomement' tickets? I've still only been able to order one of the 4 bought for the original game... There may be a queue when the ticket office opens at 10am...

Big Sam or Mowbray until the end of the season for me then reassess. I'd go Damien Duff at the start of next season, probably wouldn't be against giving Phil Jones a shot either. (😬)

I don't know the actual number but when I looked at the seating plan to buy ours there were only the two end blocks available and one of them has rows with only a few seats in each.

Cifuentes is a good shout and could be a quick fix, having kept QRP up a couple of seasons ago. I think QPR had lost something like 10 of the 14 first matches of the season when he came in. Even finished a place above Eustace. But he'll probably get better offers somewhere else...

We need a leader of men. We don’t have the quality in the squad to get out of it based purely on football ability. We need a manager who can get players to give that extra 10%. It needs to be a motivator who can build an ‘us against them’ philosophy. That’s the only way we get out of this mess. Trying to play pretty football in a relegation dog fight will only end one way. Im hoping Val wasn’t popular with the players and some see it as a new start. I know he bombed at his last club but would Will Still be worth a look. I’m not 100% convinced but he’s done well in his previous positions.

If it's not only for the season, then taking on the job of getting us back out of League One isn't such a bad proposition for the likes of Cifuentes etc. I hope whoever comes in decides his own captain and insists that we sign Tronstad to a new contract 🙂

Another predictably awful window. The only thing to change at Ewood these days are the excuses.

I don't think the likes of Martin would touch us even if we wanted him. It will end up being someone who would do well to get a job in League One, just because for someone whose can realistically compete for a decent Championship job will see taking us on as too risky for their career. A bad few months with us could knock them down a division in their next job. Its different in the summer if you have a window and a full pre seaso. But here anyone decent knows they will be hostage to the clown show. Not having any credible football people at all (such as Waggott like him or loathe him ) a manager has to ask himself will he risk their future success for Gestede and Suhail... Rowett has such a bad recent cv he might go for us in a desperate move.

This really feels like an inflection point as whatever happened with VI it's clear that there isn't a plan in place on who to replace him with. The bloke was a bang average manager but he was about the standard we should expect given the abilities of Pasha & Gestede at running a football club. I can't believe it's taken this long but it really feels like Blackburn Rovers are very close to imploding as I think the next appointment will be an Owen Coyle/Steve Kean type and we will plummet into League One.

Don't disagree with any of that, Venkys have been completely disinterested for years But I was referring specifically to the steepened rate of decline over the past 2 years. I don't think they are any less disinterested than they have been, they have just now completely turned the taps off too, so we cant even get lucky and employ a Manager/Head Coach/Director of Football/CEO/etc who is even vaguely competent

They won't get someone in who's already in a job but there are still plenty to choose from. I would get Cifuentes in things were looking a little better, but we need a 'quickfix' for the season so I'm not too sure. I hope we stay clear of Rowett and especially Russell Martin.
