  1. Past hour
  2. I'd argue he's as good as initial Brittain in his first season, in fact probably better but no way is he an upgrade on the peak Brittain who just left. If he can develop the same there's another good sale price in the making and that's all they care about to be honest.
  3. Thing is it's results that win you points and it all starts from defence as Eustace demonstrated and you can get away with low XG if you can defend the point or the goal you do get. That's gone out of the window again because mainly we've lost the 3 best defenders and just tried to plug the holes with no investment. We've been there before as well.
  4. Toth Alebiosu Miller Wharton Ribeiro Tronstad TGH Morishita Cantwell Hedges Ohashi Rovers 2-1
  5. 7/1 is a crazy price. We've scored 6 goals so far, with no sign of that improving by any decent measure any time soon. A paper thin squad, toxic behind the scenes and a clown for a manager. Id expect that price to shorten quite a bit leading up to Christmas.
  6. With or without injuries, that starting 11 and squad in general is league one (at best). I'd argue some of the dross we put out there isn't even that level, Kargbo can't actually play football, he's fucking abysmal. Don't even get me started on the likes of Tavares. Incredible how that guys a professional footballer.
  7. I presumed that Miroshita had picked up an injury yesterday to go off yesterday. He hadnt really got involved again but you can at least give him the ball without it bouncing off him like basically every other player bar Cantwell. Apaprently it was just a tactical decision to bring on Kargbo. A real masterstroke of a decision from our poor manager.
  8. It feels exactly like that season we nearly went down in terms of accumulating crap within a shallow squad. That season, we often had the likes of Ennis, Telalovic, Markanday etc on really poor benches and often didnt use all of our subs, or when we did they offered nothing. Now, its De Neve, Henriksson, Tavares, the invisible Baradji not even on the bench. Kargbo coming on and being appalling. Our starting 11 is poor but a subs bench has never been more important. Swansea really changed the game with their subs, used proactively and with one scoring the winner. That season, we had a few things in our favour compared to now. We had a buffer of points from under Tomasson, I think we were around 8th going into December. We obviously also had Szmodics scoring loads. And we didnt have the crap manager we have now.
  9. Sorry, I transposed the numbers, you are quite correct
  10. There is little doubt about that and I think his excuses and games of passing the buck, are simply to try to keep some fans onside and ensure, he at least has some people feeling sorry for him, even though the numbers seem to be dwindling.
  11. Correct. He could have walked 10mins after Hyam was sold and no one would have blamed him. Reality is, he is a poor manager and it's unlikely his next job will be anywhere decent, he's a busted flush at this level. So he'll be happy to collect his wages for 3 more years.
  12. Good player and the pick of (a very poor) the summer, that said he isn't an upgrade on Brittain.
  13. I don't disagree with you tbh, and as i said, i'm really not a fan of a back 3. I'm just trying to play to our strengths a bit more and try to mitigate against some of our weaknesses. We struggle to create anything and anything we do create comes from the full backs. Our wingers aren't particularly good and we shipping 2 or more goals in most games. Having 3 centre backs might just go some way to helping that. We have switched to a back 3 in some games, so it's not entirely new to the team. I appreciate that i'm basically clutching at straws here but we are well and truly in the shit this season, and i'll be honest, i'm just looking for something to cling to as I really don't want us to be relegated. There will be no way back this time.
  14. Spine of the team sold off. Circa 1500 Championship appearances worth of experience removed and not replaced. Cheap players from foreign leagues, or bang average ones from the UK shipped in - all of whom are a downgrade on what we had before, have no idea of the demands of this league and/or simply aren't up to them. Report of a toxic atmosphere at the club. Childish/amateur spats with the local press because they won't toe the party line. A manager that has never gone beyond a year at previous clubs, doesn't seem to have a plan or a clear way of playing, and was probably only appointed in the first place because he was cheap and desperate for a job - and we're asking him to polish a turd. This is just a shell of Blackburn Rovers these days, and all of the above is only pointing to one thing - the big 'R'.
  15. The fact that Robins is their manager and we have a French Oaf.. I can see a hefty defeat! But last time we were relegated, we did the double over Newcastle who were champions! We did have Mulgrew, who could shoot though!
  16. This lad looks like he might be a rare success from the Russian roulette summer gamble so i expect him being sold in summer for 1.5 million or so plus add ons. Probably to Preston or Millwall or similar....

  18. Hard to imagine getting anything out of this one.
  19. He is not blind to it, he has simply accepted that the signings were big risks and highly likely to fail. I cannot feel sorry for someone, who has just sat back and accepted that, as he is as much to blame as the other two stooges and the owners.
  20. Just had a look at XG on Flashscore for the Charlton drubbing. They had Charlton at 1.47 and us on 0.55...
  21. Hardly a star manager, but Bowyer has managed to leverage his 'steady', if unsuccessful, tenure with us into an interesting and reasonably respectable lower league career. - Got Blackpool out of L2 via the playoffs in 2017, amid the dying embers of the Oyston regime. Kept them mid-table in L1 in 2018 (no idea what the expectations were!) before resigning. - Couldn't keep Bradford from relegation after a late hire in 2019 (they were already pretty much doomed), but then fired after a promising start in L2 trailed off. - After a spell as Derby's u23s manager, almost got Salford into the L2 playoffs as interim manager in 2021 (oddly on a 'loan' from Derby!). Made permanent manager for 2022 but only managed 10th (70 points, which would just make the playoffs in some years...) and sacked. - Ended up in the Scottish Championship with Dundee, where he won the league in 2023, but rather randomly immediately resigned after the season. - Pulled off an escape with Burton (9 points from safety with a bit over half the season to spare) in L1 last year, but in some trouble to start the year. I'd guess there some Salford and Bradford supporters may not be too fond of him, but a couple promotions and decent firefighting jobs ain't too shabby for who was originally a rather obscure youth coach.
  22. Once upon a day, that would have happened!
  23. Depends if he went for the pie and pint in Jack's Kitchen before the game.
  24. Not a great spectacle last night, but I don't think we are quite as bad as some would say on here. I noticed a stat on Rovers underperforming on XG on the screens before the game by about 3 goals, so I put this together (bored at work, XG means nothing I know). We've been comfortably outperforming the opposition on XG recently. Yes, XG doesn't win you points, but perhaps indicative that we aren't as awful as som would suggest
  25. I don't think tbh changing the system is the answer as on balance of play we were quite competitive all game against Swansea. The issue is we conceded two really sloppy goals which were all about individual mistakes rather than anything to do with the shape. I am not really sure how we mitigate for that, but Id be worried if we change the system we end up confusing the players further.
