  1. Past hour
  2. I think Toth is the far likelier of the two to be be eligible for conversion in January.
  3. Because we have five players who can play wingback (Alebiouso, Miller, De Neve, Pickering, Riberio) but only two who are wingers (Kargbo, Hedges).
  4. Throw Henriksson in this section too.
  5. I go for championship experience centre back myself I can see him going there. Eustace always stuck with him Leonard hasn't had a loan
  6. Hard to disagree with this. He clearly had high standards and, if you didn't either buy into that and work hard, or didn't have the talent, you were out. Players like Szmodics and Wharton thrived - both of whom have spoken publicly in positive terms about JDT's influence on their development. If we'd have backed him and Broughton properly, we wouldn't be pissing around in the Championship still now.
  7. If they are replacing players that looked out of favour and with no way back, with signings to go into the team then I will give them credit. My expectation/fear is that given Buckley/Duru/Leonard/Pears haven’t been involved then they've not been counted as needing to be replaced. If they do then the squad quickly looks to have a chance: Toth, NEW, Young keeper Alebiosu, Miller, Hyam, Carter, McLoughlin, Wharton, Ribeiro, Pickering Tronstad, Taveres, Baradji, NEW, Forshaw, Montgomery NEW WINGER Kargbo, Henriksson, Cantwell, Tyjon, Hedges, De Neve Ohashi, Gueye, NEW If Gueye isn't fancied and he is shipped out, 2 strikers coming in that can compete with/are better than Ohashi then happy days. Of course we're reliant on players hitting the ground running and I still think we lack quality on the left but the squad potentially could be a lot better than expected given all the experienced departures. Over to you RG...
  8. My guess is that there were probably cost and relationship issues with Liverpool that saw Morton getting more minutes than he warranted.
  9. Earliest we can get another ESC player is January if we convert Kargbo and/or Toth. So we can firmly rule out any ESC player (this window, at least).
  10. RΓΆsler wouldn't need an ESC, might go back in for him if they offload Hyam. About right probably but don't see Pears going to Derby, he was Mowbrays mates son, Eustace was lumped with him and had no alternative to pick (god help us not Wahlsted), can't imagine he wants him again. Leonard I just don't see making it, and he's not set world alight in any loan spell he's had either.
  11. I really liked JDT, but you'd need to have never seen a football to not bring Adam into the squad around that time. If anything, I criticise his handling of Wharton, who should have been playing far more in favour of the fairly abject Tyler Morton.
  12. Not possible in this window due to him needing a ESC spot.
  13. 6ft 6, I like the sound of that and fits the Ismael mold.
  14. Wouldn't surprise me if we sign 3 or 4 players in the next 8 days. Expect Travis to Derby be confirmed tomorrow, Buckley going to Saudi, Pears to go maybe Derby, Leonard on loan or permanent. I would be against Leonard leaving permanently. Still think he has a future here. Need regular first team football. Derby will need a keeper if their number 1 leaves for Brentford as the rumours suggest.
  15. We’re being linked with GAIS defender Filip Beckman. Anyone know anything about him? 22 year old centre half
  16. At least potter doesn't come out with pretentious quotes after each game
  17. JDT is the best manager we've had in the Venky era. He just wasn't a yes man and got sold a dream that turned into a nightmare
  18. JDT used to do this too. Hate it. Sheff Utd away in the FA Cup springs to mind!
  19. Going to back 5 wasn't why we lost that game?
  20. Barnsley fans disagree and we will see. He will need to be a bloody good manager to achieve relative success at a club where the ownership seems hell bent on destruction rather than build and decline over aspiration and ambition.
  21. I've watched both Espanyol games so far, tonight's game was entertaining. Dolan has done well so far on the right wing. His crossing has noticeably improved.
  22. Nah Sarge is still there and still scoring. He’s probably the best striker in the league in my opinion. They lost Sainz though, although he seemed to have fallen from both grace and form in the latter half of the season. They’ve heavily reinvested a lot of the cash from him and Rowe etc (unlike us). Unproven new signings of yet though. Not sure how this one’s going to play out. Hopefully I’ll get the bragging rights over my canary mates down here.
  23. And gave Adam W a platform and opportunity to shine. Think he was a great manager, simply didn’t suffer fools and I truly believe he would have had us promoted, if he had been backed by the stooges / owners.
