  1. Past hour
  2. With who? No fighters in that team, especially with Lewis soon to be gone.
  3. I wouldn't read to much into that. Any outgoing replaced doesn't necessarily mean like for like. He's more likely inferring we have the budget for one more signing, then it's one out, one in.
  4. Who seems hell bent on dispatching every English player in order to fill out the squad with imports. Not wise, the Championship is very British in terms of aggression and stupid fixture congestion. Not sure how a lot of these lads will hold up on freezing piss wet November nights when things aren't going well. It tends to be your Travis types who pull you through that.
  5. I am sure that they are right on that
  6. Donnarumma available at 26 million can venkys push the boat out just this once?
  7. In the words of Jay Z - uh, everything's for sale - the only if about your favourite player leaving is the if some other club is interested.
  8. I was with a non rovers supporting friend yesterday. I said when Kargbo came on, this will be fun as he’s lightning but can’t cross for toffee!! After about 10 minutes he said that I had pretty much summed him up in one sentence. I would like to see Kargbo on from the start. Players a petrified of his pace. The fact he won three of the four yellows from WBA players yesterday is clearly something that we need to be focusing on. Im worried about us playing Birmingham city at the weekend. They could rip us to shreds if we play anything like that. Have to hope for a way better performance from us.
  9. First home game of the season is a League Cup tie & a chance to mix things up. Results against the Bantams since the 1980’s…
  10. Mafoumbi - I think Dave Whelan's words on the Raos' purchase of Rovers are similarly applicable to this lad's signing "doesn't sound right, and it doesn't look right". Myles Anderson Mk 2!? Travis - there's so much noise around his departure it seems inevitable. Not a world beater but feck me, Rovers are a far different proposition when Travis plays. Again, his replacement will be a virtually unknown, unproven and relatively cheap foreign import who may well not even be fit to play for weeks with his foot injury! Tronstad - another worry, doesn't look the same player as last season and at 30, are those legs going or already gone? Yesterday showed the importance of Championship experience when signing new players - McLaughin was steady without being spectacular but having two centre backs who are so slow is a huge worry. Needless to say - when a team is ripped apart and replacements brought in, it takes time to gel - when the bulk of those replacements are from overseas and unproven with little pedigree, it is even more highly problematical. Lose against Brum and we will already be in crisis and come the end of September, may well find ourselves already adrift at the bottom of the table. The warning signs are already there.
  11. Henriksson as seen yesterday will be playing/competing for the 10 role travis goes - baradji will be in he’s been their number 1 target agreed we should want more up top but going by his interview itl b a right winger only and any outgoings replaced
  12. In the 4-2-3-1, Axel doesn't play in the midfield 2, who tend to sit, he plays further forwards Whilst he does look like he could do a job in the 2,, that's not where he has played in the past, and his game does seem suited to pressing from the front, which is what Ismael apparently wants, so I cannot see him being moved deeper Given the cost cutting, it would not surprise me if Rovers were actively trying to move on Cantwell as well as Travis, and if that happens we may well see something closer to a 4-3-3 with Axel & possibly Baradji flanking Tronstad who will hold more, and a reserve midfield of Forshaw, flanked by Montgomery & Tavares
  13. For all the talk of Baradji and a deal on the table for a while, they suddenly pulled out another midfielder in Axel for that last esc slot. Ismael clearly wants more than one signing and I'd wager he'd prefer them up top. We've lost Weimann/Dolan/Dennis/Woodrow/ACD who were all attacking options - whilst the last 3 didn't work out, they were still options. Now we have zero options. Reading between the lines, Trav will go. Tronstadt will stay until next year. Add Tavares, Axel, Montgommery and Forshaw and that is 5 for 2 slots. 3 unproven but we have options. I think whatever small portion of the Travis money is available will go on front players - probably loans. I'd be very surprised if it goes on Baradji.
  14. What about BC who everyone is raving about? Not much investment there lately.
  15. Unless I've missed it West Brom haven't brought in £45 million in player sales since 2022. They've also had to carry the legacy of a PL wage bill. So whatever advantage their bigger attendances provide I would expect to be wiped out by the above.
  16. I Was a bit angry yesterday with what I saw in the moment, after processing overnight and calming down I’ve still got the same outcome, we’re shit, and most of the new players are shit.
  17. 3 - 4 - 3 Seems the only way to play Miller & Alebiosu, One problem it means no cover for Alebiosu. Think they'll settle into a 4 3 3 Tóth Miller Hyam McLaughlin Ribeiro Tavares (Henriksson or Hedges) (Cantwell or Forshaw) New Ohashi Kargbo
  18. Pears would have let in at least one more of their chances, possibly two. I don’t think it was a penalty, but a free kick just outside their penalty area and possibly a red card. I think we missed Cantwell, and dare I say it Buckley.
  19. If Kargbo is considered to be our best player then we really are screwed. Yep. And as we hadn't taken possession of the ball when the ref blew, the defender was the one who had played the ball last he was right to give it to them. For the Miller one, he waited before he blew, so they had time to take possession and break.
  20. Good and honest write up Parsons but its comment's like this in bold that make me sad and frustrated. An exceptance of mediocrity from long standing supporter's just goes to highlight the general malaise and apathy that has enveloped the Club on all level's. It's so damn sad to read.
  21. I’ll go with: No extensions, some options taking up, others not.
  22. Ah, yeah that sounds quite key. Didn't realise they had lost those 3.
  23. It is pointless but it certainly hasn’t sailed it’s been their number 1 target all summer
