  1. Past hour
  2. I was sure Edu rang a bell in a Rovers context, and it transpired he scored an own goal whilst playing us once, back in the league in 02-03. We were the only team to do the league double over Arsenal that year. Imagine such a world 🙃
  3. Ange Postecoglou talked about his footballing philosophy in this interview that I found pretty quickly; Big Ange's football philosophy I'd say it can be summarised by this quote from it; "Winning 4-3 is more exciting than winning 1-0. The more goals we score the happier I am about the football we’re playing". Nuno's Forest last season were the absolute opposite of that. They were happy ceding 80% possession and hitting teams on the break. I watched enough Spurs games with Ange in charge to know that 5-4-1 wasn't his preferred method. He has to play that way presently as his Forest players aren't set up to play his devil may care brand of attacking football. So far though he hasn't been able to shape what he has at his disposal into a cohesive group. You are correct that Nuno left because he could not work with Edu but that has nothing to do with how Postecoglou sees football. Any sensible new manager decision should have been made knowing that the current Forest squad is used to a type of football far removed from what Ange plays. Chris Wood cannot do what Solanke and Son did. Nuno put Forest on the spot so they hired someone quickly who was out of work and had Prem experience. Not the ideal way to guarantee continuity. As to ten Hag. Leverkusen did lose players, and brought in new ones; what teams didn't? However, as the BBC noted here; ten Hag sacked Leverksuen made a strategic decision. "Nobody wanted to take this step," Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes told the club website”. "However, the past few weeks have shown that building a new and successful team with this set-up is not feasible." "A parting of ways at this early stage of the season is painful, but we felt it was necessary," added Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro. Ruthless yet it's looking like the correct decision.
  4. They are separating the happy clappers from the pro LT non clappers 🤣
  5. Further to this point, the players that have played in the actual league match will have to go out and do a cool down that I would expect to take no less than 20 minutes. So in reality it's going to be an hour and a half before the other game could kick off. Everything about this is just so comically shit. I love it.
  6. i had`nt thought of the sectarianism, hard to believe that b*****s is still virilant up there
  7. As he was injured he didn’t go out on loan. Meaning he’s still here. And last week the Rovers website , when stating Baradji was a “longer term” absentee stated that the under 21 game on Friday would come “too soon” for Carter and Garrett.
  8. Risky business hiring Ulstermen at Rangers. They'll have to find out which school he went to and everything. I honestly wish I was joking.
  9. Can we all just agree this is most farcical decision since the Loons thought they could buy the Champions League by employing a total agent pillock to sack Sam and employ a twat as manager?
  10. And to think after the home defeat to League 1 Bradford, we had one or two saying how we had likely found an upgrade on Travis.
  11. But equally, it wouldnt logically lead you to then giving him the job, especially considering his overall CV, and especially when it is such a big job that surely requires more managerial expertise. Still unclear why being a club legend should be a deciding factor.
  12. Nah it’s on the weekend this one for once.
  13. Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - Can You Love A Poor Boy
  14. There is no quick fix to Rangers problems. I dont think Ferguson's interim period was ever to be successful when you major problems there.
  15. Today
  16. You make a very fair points there but like I said previously Ange hasn't come in and played his style from Spurs. He played 5 at the back yesterday against Newcastle something he didnt do Spurs. This doesn't look like Spurs Ange at Forest. I would have gone more attacking yesterday On your Edu point, the Forest owner went to get him from Arsenal and appointed him officially only in July. He wasnt going to sack him after 2 months was he?
  17. Didn't expect any of this to make sense did you? Hand over your money.... silly fan
  18. Personally I think he is a long way behind Buckley at the moment. I am struggling to see how even if he gets up to pace of English football he will be much better than Buckley.
  19. The actual Queen's Park are in a league fixture themselves that day, unsurpringly, so there's the excuse for that not happening. Carrying on the FA Cup theme, we won the 1886 edition via a replay with West Brom at Derbyshire's county cricket ground, just a mile or so from Pride Park. Maybe that could have been an angle a competent board could have pursued if we had to go down the 'afterwards on Saturday 5th' road - play a West Brom legends XI to demark the final flourish of that record we still hold - the only extant club to win three FA Cups in a row, having just played the team whose town we did it in. Ho hum.
  20. I quite like that he has bluntly said Taveres was dropped from the entire squad as he wasn't performing well enough in training and in games.. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25517874.blackburn-rovers-boss-reveals-reason-tavares-absence/
  21. i wouldn`t be surprised if rangers try and coax kieren mckenna to move up to glasgow i hope this is`nt last we`ll see of russell martin, his ineptitude coupled with his insane sense of self belief makes me laugh,he`s like the black knight in monty python,he bravely carries on despite being a complete tool with no discernable qualities as a manager
  22. We're probably in talks with a Sunday team from the Queen's Park in Blackburn.
  23. Ally McCoist is a Rangers legend and he was utterly tepid in the dugout there.
  24. The loan moves out seem to have been badly chosen (mores than previously) in the main this season O'Riordan has been a success, he missed the weekends game with an ankle injury, apparently he was touch and go, so shouldn't be out for long Edmondson has been doing well at Macclesfield, quite possibly he may get a loan to a 5th tier team in January, I would say or 4th tier, but think that Rovers may be scared of doing so based on what has happened to the rest of our loanees this season Pratt has just has his initial loan extended by a month by Chorley, although he has not played a lot for them, seems to be on the bench more often than not. As far as i remember,. this was the only loan which was started or extended following Jordan Rhodes being appointed as loan manager (I would have expected a lot more, last season we sent out a huge amount of players on short term loans, and expected similar to happen again) Barrett warms the bench for Tranmere, although may play this week in the EFL cup Olson & O'Grady-Macken can't even get on the Oldham bench in League games, although they may feature in the EFL cup this week Garrett is injured rather than out on loan Duru doesn't get on the bench in the USA, and apparently has a "questionable lower body injury", whatever that means
  25. Why? His interim period wasnt particularly successsful and his CV beforehand is very non descript. Dont get the logic behind trying to fix things with a "club legend."
  26. We have our excuse why football wont come home in place at least.
