How long until the end of Venkys?

Years I'm afraid. They have no thought or desire to leave. Remember. Indian people are proud and to admit you made a mistake just doesn't happen -

If we were to sign anyone in this window , it would, in my opinion, be wasted money. Ismael is a negative, uninspiring, lacking in enthusiasm and lacking in ability man. He looks miserable, his players perform like , they too , are miserable …why add more misery to any incoming addition? -

Interesting... This issue comes up a lot in our house. How have Venky's got away without a complete revolt in the fanbase? After the initial bout of destruction, I think the slow, lingering glacial pace of the downgrading is a key factor here... Also, there is a problematic (to me)reaction in a proportion of the remaining fanbase, which combines defeatism, fatalism, Stockholm syndrome...and ingrained denial. -

If we are finally looking at League 1 players, we could do worse than look at Ballard from Orient, and Wooton at Stockport. Both having good seasons as strikers. Ballard young with good So'ton academy pedigree, but only half a good season goals wise might make him cheap enough for us; ideally we'd get more experienced guy but I'd rather take a punt on him than a 20y/o Estonian kid from the Belgian third tier which is probably Gestede's plan. Orient nowhere near promotion too, so he is scoring playing for a poor team presumably; I like El Mizouni there too, the midfielder, and I would have taken Koroma on a free in the summer. Wooton I saw a fair bit of when he was at Notts; big target man, and you'd think he can compete with physicality of Champ having worked his way up in National League. I make five consecutive good seasons now in terms of goals (2 in Nat, 2 in L2 and now L1), so worth a punt, though Stockport will want to keep him for their promotion chase, and tbh they are as likely to be in Championship as us next year. I said last January we ought to be chasing top League 1 players, instead we dove into the overseas bargain bin and hoped for the best. Sam Smith, Ethan Erhahon and Thelo Aasgaard were all eminently attainable even for us and would have solved both our striker and midfield issues had we got them last Jan. Even Kwame Poku would have been possible, though his injuries have become a worry and he doesn't play at QPR. -

And yet, when we played them at Ewood in our anniversary game, it became evident that they would beat us 99 out of 100 times. Football is about the games you win and the points you accumulate, not about what could have been if not x, y, z. Unfortunately, we are left with a manager who creates an 'honest' list of excuses for any situation, and when he has gotten us relegated, he will still talk about that game against Ipswich... -

I don't recall Bowyer getting us promoted, but we did sign some useful players to go along side Rhodes 20+ goals that season, so that was a 'bust'. In the promotion season I don't recall who we signed, but nevertheless, the success rate in January is pretty thin on the ground and if the summer is anything to go by, we are more likely to sell rather than strengthen. I fall to see where the optimism is coming from chaddy, but I know we all hope your are right.

I think 15 more years of them and we will be far lower than League 1. -

It says everything about how scattergun our approach was this summer that Alebiousu was given a 3 year deal whilst Henriksson was given a 4. They clearly had little idea themselves of how good these players would be. Not that it will make much difference when we shunt him out the door in January. -

Just wondering. One for the Coalition:Seeing that I have a season ticket and that I will be included in the "official" attendance, even if I stay away...would there be anything more useful I could achieve, while being inside the ground? DM me if you have any ideas.. -

5 defenders, 3 defensive midfielders, an attacking midfielder who cant shoot and a striker who spends most of his time on the wing and isnt a good finisher. -

Shocking take roverandout, sorry to say Look at what Mowbray inherited and look what he left. That first JDT year was Mowbrays squad. I had always hoped Mowbray wanted to move upstairs with us. We’d be in a better state if he was still involved -

Fucking hell give me another Mowbray any day of the week One of the best things to happen to this club under Venkys. He cared and he took on roles that modern coaches like JDT wouldnt Unfortunately I suspect Mowbray’s health has meant he will not be able to do what he did here again. Let’s remember him fondly though - he left this club in a far better state than he found it and was one of the core reasons both JDT and Eustace could have a proper go at it -
Aye and they’re all shite.
