Completely free hit today, no-one really expects us to win and there'd be no shame in performing creditably but going down to a narrow defeat, so who knows. -
One of the few ‘successes’ of recent years when it comes to Ewood is a Blackburn End lower that was pretty full most weeks (obviously by just concertina-ing the remaining fans into camera facing areas, I.e BB Lower and JW, but still) … so of course they’ve put a sledgehammer to that too.

Morning everyone & Merry Christmas (better late than never). We're capable of doing a number on Boro today as we have done several times there recently. Hopefully our win v Millwall & their defeat at Bristol gives enough of a momentum shift for us to get the 3 points, though a draw would be v good too. Sounds like we'll be without Andri, but hopefully we still have enough for a win by the only goal. -
The bowlers did very well but the batsman apart from Brook and Atkinson. This is seamers friendly pitch. In terms of what? We have rip it every time and got no better. The county game needs massive reform and reorganise. Less games, better pitches and playing at the right time. Who are the better batsmen then already in the team? The top 3 batsmen in Division 1 are players who have played test cricket and failed. Do we go back to them?.

If true, that's a fucking disgrace. Sorry about the bad language, Im an uncouth loyal hardcore older fan. We could do with some proof on this I feel. It does sound feasible, it's the first time I've heard any sort of explanation for the ludicrous decision to raise prices in the BBE (which SHOULD form the seething hotbed of our support) What makes them think younger fans would be flocking to replace the older ones at those prices? Insanity.

He’s still the best centre half I’ve ever seen in the flesh. When the Rothmans Football Annual published their best British 11 Mike was in it at centre half for several years and that was at the tail end of his career. He had it all ability wise. For a tall guy he had incredible leap. Not many tall guys jump very well. I still think his best days were at Rovers, when he went to Spurs they reigned in his attacking instincts. -

That was the name and the gist of it was they don't like some of the chants ( of the loyal hardcore older fans ) in No1 and it was spreading to No2 and influencing younger fans. They expected the pricing to influence the older demographic to move across to the riverside and be quiet because it's cheaper. Then the younger element would fill up those BBE seats because of the cheaper pricing for them and they'd happy clap the team. There was more but that's the general arrogant tone form a guy who thinks he'll just move people around the stadium on purpose because he feels like it. For me it just reflects the general tone about how they see our support and why they couldn't care less when hardly anyone turns up because it's less hassle for them, they clearly have their excuses ready for any questions from above. As i said though i'm only assuming it was real. i'll try and find it but others on here must've seen it.

My word. Revisiting that thread made for fascinating reading. Quite rightly, absolute uproar and outrage for a "digital day" Cup tie against Cambridge and now digital ticketing and the lack of choice barely causes a raised eyebrow. Extremely sad. Just as now, utter contempt for the fans from the Club in full evidence, even with the recently departed and often lamented St. Steven still on the premises. Not a thread that a certain poster who in it was at the time backing the Club to the hilt at every turn and who claimed to have a built in bullshit detector due to his many years of experience will recall with any fondness now he would appear to have reversed his position on the Club completely.

A safe journey to all travelling to Smogland for the game this afternoon. Fingers crossed for a worthwhile journey, and some semblance of a Blackburn Rovers that gives it Arte et Labore for the full 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Middlesbrough looking dry and relatively calm for the duration, so there will be no swampy pitch to contend with. I do hope the PASHA OUT banner has legs and will travel. Keep the visual pressure up on the backroom snake, if nothing else. Anyway, compliments of the season to one and all - let's hope that the Boro side are in the mood for giving gifts, and that our Icelandic tapper inner has his shooting boots on. Here's hoping that the youngsters get another chance to show their worth too. Give em the Road to Hell, so that when you're driving home for (the day after) Christmas you will be doing so with the satisfaction of putting Bob Mortimer (bless him) on his arse. It will make Lee Mack happy, after all.. COYB! VENKYS OUT! -

It took me about 30 minutes at the Accy Stanley friendly. He looked like somebody who had just come out of the crowd to make up the numbers. -

McLaughlin is bang average which was highlighted plenty of times earlier in the season at left of three centre backs. As the central defender of three he is even worse but has been protected well by Miller and Pratt either side who have natural defensive instincts. Mclaughlin wins very few duels, gets too tight/easily turned and thinks hes better than he is which means he spends far too much time playing at the back when we should be trying to get the ball into Cantwell/Morishita and the 2 strikers. First job in January is to get someone competent to replace him as the central defender of the three. No issues with him as a sub/backup as hes always fit and gives 100%. -

Thats venkys rovers of 15 years for you. Not comparable at all. Baradji looks like he can play from what we have seen. Forshaw has been better than Tavares and Henriksson though which says a lot. TGH whilst not brilliant shouldn't be put in with that group. Think Batth was much better last season than McLoughlin has been this season. -
