  1. Past hour
  2. So if we don't have a dramatic fall off in form in the next three months, we could be on for a good season.
  3. I don't think he does have a choice. He's a head coach, as are most "managers" now. At best they have a voice in the committee.
  4. The Rolling Stones - Moonlight Mile
  5. We’re just 3 points behind where we were after 15 matches last season.
  6. He is definitely not doing a "great" job.
  7. With Pratt I have always thought of a less able Colin Hendry, I hope he lives up to my expectations.
  8. Now this is right. It seems you can see into the future 😁👍
  9. We wont add 2 or 3 quality players in January. We never do. I think the change in formation being successful increases the number of players that we need. 2 centre backs, 2 forwards and right wing back cover. No idea where 7 or 8 came from. A number of Gestede's crap in Gueye, Henriksson, Kargbo and Tavares can all leave for me. Pickering and Ribeiro also become surplus to requirements, although I'd keep the former in case we ever want to go back to a back 4 occasionally, he can also provide extra centre back cover but it seems hes the next on the cull list for earning normal wages.
  10. I understand why his direct approach (in communicating) wouldn't be for everyone, but I prefer to deal with directness. He's clearly got us motoring away from home - and playing some good football as well, to be fair. We're not grinding out results, we're being the better side. At home however is where he needs to find the right formula. And he's not going to get a better opportunity than this period directly in front of us.
  11. Really pleased with how he did. You can tell a natural defender from somebody standing in, or playing out of position. It's football fate, isn't it? Injuries and circumstances often lead to an opportunity - and then it's down to you to take it. He's certainly played himself into contention for the next game. But as far as debuts at this level go, it went about as well as it could have for Pratt.
  12. All just a bit before my time, but some big names in the club's history there, for sure. Faz's record speaks for itself, as does Garner's popularity amongst fans - even to this day. It would have been interesting to see if the latter's abilities extended to doing it at the top level, but it seems as though he was sadly never given the opportunity.
  13. I think the Rovers will hope Litherland will step up, if needed.
  14. Ismael has said that players were signed to play 4-2-3-1 formation in the summer, but results meant Ismael switch formation in order to pick up results and we are now winning games. The squad does need to re-justify in order to have another centre back option, back up for Alebiosu, and at least 1 more striker in the January. Players like Pickering and Ribeiro will probably leave either in the January window or next summer due to not playing and we aren't playing with left back. Gueye will leave due to not playing and Ismael not rating him We can't be signing 7 or 8 new players in January like you might want. We need to add 2 or 3 quality players in January that can help the team quickly. Priority should be right footed centre back, back up for Alebiosu and another striker? do you agree?
  15. Players clearly playing for him. I don't like his apparent collusion with awful transfer decisions. You might say he has no choice, but I think it insults our intelligence.
  16. Always plenty of managers interested in Championship jobs (especially at a pretty unique one where they don’t do sackings).
  17. That's a shame 😂😂
  18. Scratch that. Derby losing now!
  19. What a week-end Rovers win, dingles drop into the relegation positions, Liverpool stuffed at home.
  20. Liverpool losing 3 nil to Forest at Anfield
  21. The very same happened in the 70s, Mounted police charging into us
  22. Bet this wouldn't be on page 2 if we'd lost. Anybody willing to change their opinion on him? He's doing a great job for me, fully expected this team to be relegated after a chaotic summer. I think we'd be screwed if he left, not many managers would want this job right now.
  23. Today
  24. Derby winning again, into the top 6 they are at the moment. Not deal that Portsmouth are winning, equally so Oxford drawing with Boro currently. Norwich getting smashed at Brum.
  25. I wasn't aware that they were there last night but I know they attended the Burnley game at Ewood last season. The backstory, from what I hear is...a group of Zwolle ultras have formed a friendship with a group of Rovers fans who call themselves "Blackburn Youth". The latter have been over to Holland to watch Zwolle with their new Dutch pals and vice versa. It seems like the Zwolle fans might be picking the Burnley and Preston games to attend as they expect things to 'get tasty'. It's not like that in reality though, which is obviously a good thing. Below is footage from this linkup at Ewood last season, when the Zwolle fans were in the corner of the Riverside near the Darwen End. I can see why the police were wary last night:
  26. I think it’s more to do with the fact that contracted players can only be signed in the transfer windows nowadays. Back in 1993, David Batty signed on October 26 and played on October 30. Colin Hendry, if I recall correctly made his debut on the day he signed.
  27. Was worried about him in this game but he did great and was well covered as well to be fair. Needs to be kept involved now because we'll need a natural replacement in the squad for whichever of Wharton or Carter is moved on in summer. Still need to sign another experienced CB though.
