  1. Past hour
  2. The trouble is, it isn't really a shit league at all - there are plenty of well organised teams who know the ropes, have strength in depth, and who will kick the shit out of the novices and journeymen we now have at our disposal. Woe betide our players' confidence and the general atmosphere around Ewood if and when the blind optimism and eternal faith of the self-annointed begins to be tested on a depressingly regular basis. It might even spiral out of all control... On the other hand, we may be about to witness the greatest feat of managerial wisdom and strategic genius ever seen in the second tier of English football. Imagine if the lads come blazing like footballing gods out of the traps after the international break, sweeping all and sundry before them, invincible and polished like potential pound shop premier league contenders. Which will be all well and good until we go somewhere horrible like Deepdale in the depths of a cold wet November - then just watch how quickly the gloss comes off when that odious knobhead Heckingbottom's turgid collection of zombie cloggers just go, 'Naaahhhh, and put their foot through us' (and we know that we get zero protection from refs, even when we have a few hard lads in the side. Can't see the latter scenario (of miraculous gelling of our smorgasborg of cast-offs) coming off to be fair. We are far more likely to get twatted, than feted. So, this shit league eh? I think we might be reminiscing about the Championship as a cultural haven and paradise lost by this time next year. But don't mind me. I'm just a codger. I've only got 53 years of insight and experience of watching the comings and goings at Ewood to go on - so what would I know? SHADOW SHAIKH OUT! VENKYS OUT! RUDE BOY OUT!

  4. Ok, thanks for clarifying that he's got a good injury and disciplinary record. I mean, I kind of knew that, that's why I said it, but regardless. You keep saying "two 7th place finishes" as though it proves something about how good he is. Well even if it did, 7th isn't exactly far above mid table anyway, and want to know what his average finish in the championship is? 12th. Out of 24. He's been available all summer for a modest fee on modest wages and he's gone to a club that will probably finish mid table. Sheff United have been pretty desperate for a CB all summer and I bet they didn't even consider him. We could do with a decent enough CB who is always available. We had one, we seemingly couldn't afford to offer him the going rate of pay, so he's gone. It's bad business, but don't kid yourself into thinking he was great, even for this shit league.
  5. I did read it I put in his record to show you were correct his injury record is great his disciplinary record is great too then below that I put in his player of the year award with two 7th place finishes as our most trusted/played centre back over his time here. Bog standard I think not heโ€™s no vvd but heโ€™s got great qualities beyond what you have suggested
  6. Excellent article thanks for sharing i rarely look at BBC as it often seems they donโ€™t report much on us apart from the occasional match report they keep with their โ€œneutrality โ€œ by not mentioning the elephant in the room all those games and minutes of championship experience has gone not because of contracts but because of ambition and leadership our club is going one way and itโ€™s the opposite of the ambitions of Wrexham or derby
  7. What are you on about? You might have read it, but you clearly didn't understand it. You don't even know what you're arguing about.
  8. I swear those people deserve league 1 or worse the stupid clowns will be making the same comments when we are locking horns with Accrington desperate for a home win to kick start our season. Nice to see the mythical 20 million a season has made a comeback.
  9. And this is exactly why Rudy gestede and Suhail pasha walk all over this club.
  10. Edit - fuck it not worth it
  11. No I read your post just fine A bog standard championship player whose best qualities are his injury and disciplinary records 138 league games available at rovers 22/23 - 39 - 4 bookings 23/24 - 35 - 5 bookings (1 led to red) 24/25 - 46 - 5 bookings 25/26 - 4 - 0 bookings 124 apps out of 138 in 3 seasons 1 red card Two 7th place finished and a player of the year Please refrain from talking nonsense
  12. I maybe wrong, but I thought the new rules mean we must register our 25 man squad within 24 hours of window closing n cant add to it including free agents until window reopens unless we only register 24
  13. Like this you mean? https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-announce-new-role-31961488 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/clygyyzex7yo https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/jonny-evans-appointed-head-of-loans-and-pathways-at-man-utd
  14. Iโ€™ve heard this is a fairly standard role in many clubs, and it makes sense when it comes to the academy and developing our talents. Hopefully, heโ€™s good at what he does. But hiring someone for this kind of position isnโ€™t exactly newsworthy. When have you ever seen headlines about us appointing someone like Michael Cribley as Head of Academy Recruitment? This feels more like the club trying to spin a story out of bringing back an old hero to a backoffice role to cover up losing your captain and our leader in defence. But this it is not us signing the attacker Rhodes, it's the coach. Again, hopefully, a good appointment, but for it to be in the news is just crazy.
  15. There is nothing to suggest that either left specifically because of him.
  16. We are. We buy for low and sell for high and anyone who wants over 10K a week will be sold and will buy players on low wages and sell all assets. no direction just plodding along and being slowly (quickly) being torn apart
  17. We are a development club nothing more and Hyam came and improved as the seasons went on so now in typical fashion someone else will benefit from his peak years for a few million quid, Not being prepared to give good centre defenders a good contract because they are in their 30's or pushing it just shows how clueless and out of touch the people running this club are. You'd still recoup that Hyam fee for a good CD aged 31+.
  18. To be fair, it's pretty much the same at every club. The king is dead, long live the king.
  19. James Edmondson has joined Macclesfield (6th tier) on loan until the end of January
  20. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating. And I'm firmly in the camp that has us getting devoured on a regular basis by sides who have got their shit together in this league (which is an a1 prerequisite that Rudy and Shaiky seem to have completely overlooked).
