  1. Past hour
  2. If Kargbo is considered to be our best player we need to understand how to benefit from his pace and crossing (which was awful yesterday). Maybe play him on the right wing to get to the byline and pull the ball back rather than beating the right back and cutting back in?
  3. It hurts so much i get so much grief down here about being a Rovers fan especially these days
  4. Henriksson isnt a number 10, that much is clear. I'd try him further back when Trav goes, seems like his strengths are energy and arriving late in the box. Doesn't have the guile to play behind the striker.
  5. Apart from young lads on the fringes like Montgomery, Duru etc, no first team players will sign a new contract here ever again under this regime. One 3/4 year contract with plan to sell after 2/3 years, rinse and repeat.
  6. The last 2 relegations , many fans predicted it before the season started , this one is no different , the squad of players assembled (if that is the word) is up with one of the worst I have seen in 56 years. Steve Kean , Owen Coyle and IV All under the watch of our fantastic owners , I feel sorry for IV he has been dealt a bad hand but I think he is a poor manager ! The other 2 were beneath contempt ! Venkys Out !
  7. Only just posting as I was fuming during and after the game, and needed to calm down a bit. We had a lot of possession and did nothing with it, the forwards had no service or creativity to give us any real opportunity of scoring. Our set pieces were terrible, and we had a lot of big bodies to target, what do they do on the training ground? Player wise, Trondstad was very disappointing, nowhere near his levels, De Neve has lots of heart but showed little ability, Henriksen was poor the few times the team actually tried to use him, Hedges ineffective. David Webb is a disgrace, not the reason we lost the game at all, but when their players collided and ball fell to us, he stopped the game and gave them the ball, when Miller was caught he didnโ€™t stop the game until our players and manager were screaming at him, he allowed them to get away with far too much. I was pleased we were looking more comfortable on the ball from the back, just disappointing that when it went to the midfield and wide players we were out of ideas. Oh, and if I hear the word transition againโ€ฆโ€ฆ
  8. Apparently Baradji & Mafoumbi have the same agent, so it should be easy enough a deal to do , some money owed could be slid over from one to the other, especially if Baradji is as desperate to come as has been written
  9. I've answered the striker question in the transfer thread yesterday and my reply hasn't changed based on our first game where many fans will over reacted to a narrow defeat or come out with crap about all the new signings were shit cos they already previously said that. For my prediction, its abit fun predicting the score but I WILL NEVER BET AGAINST ROVERS EVER.
  10. Like Kargbo Truly a stupid decision to give him such a short contract I would imagine even given the limited gametime he has had, his performances & subsequent expected wage would be beyond what the bean counters are prepared to offer now
  11. Wasnโ€™t given a squad number so Iโ€™d say itโ€™s very likely he is off one way or another
  12. Who we canโ€™t sign until we offload/pay up Mafoumbi
  13. We better hope he comes good as heโ€™s no doubt already been brought in as Travโ€™s replacement.
  14. From the players with tenuous links, 2 players stand out as really improving our first 11. Both from the Polish league, 27 and 26 so both well experienced. Steve Kapaudi Afimico Pululu. These are the type of players your ESC slots should be used for.
  15. Agreed especially henriksson, I know his season is under way and has fitness under his belt but this is a different league should have came off the bench. Ohashi should have been the 10 with Gueye up top
  16. Thought it was a bit naive of the manager to start so many new in experienced(in the championship) players tbh, ok fair enough he didn't have many options but still... Most managers would have introduced the newbies gradually in the 2nd half to get them a bit of game time
  17. He took him off at half time because he was injured.
  18. Yes, I think that was our game plan... hit and hope. But sadly there wasn't a single player in our team who made me feel that he was capable of hurting the opposition with the ball at his feet. Oh for a Garner, Shearer, Wegerle, Tugay, Bellamy, Roberts (haha!), Duff, Le Saux, Olssen, Hendry, Samba... you know what I'm saying - someone to take the game by the scruff of the neck, a game changer. As it stands it was all just a bit too kick and rush for me.. On the plus side, Toth looks like the real deal - good hands and positioning, dominant (punching) on crosses, some very sharp saves to keep the score down. I think Axel will adjust to the Championship and become a cult figure (it's a tallest dwarf contest at the moment) and stop his silly schoolboy kickabout nonsense once he understands the level. Someone needs to stand up and be a leader, or else we will be watching with our heads in our hands for a lot this season. Candidates??
  19. Iโ€™m far from happy with how we are doing things and how things are being run behind the scenes but itโ€™s pretty obvious with the turnaround those players are going to need time. i just find it laughable any football fan watching that game yesterday came to the conclusion that McLaughlin was rubbish what it does highlight for me is what a lot have been saying and asking for - experience he was miles better than the new signings and even most of the players we already had. Itโ€™s not a coincidence either experience is worth its weight in gold in this division unfortunately itโ€™s not the model we are after even though itโ€™s obvious
  20. Remove Pasha first the Venkys second and then (if still felt necessary) have the inquest. For now, all attention must be focussed on getting these people out of our club.
  21. The press was impressive in the early pre season games. Hopefully given a full week with Henriksson working with the rest of the advanced midfielders & forwards, that can come together a bit more. It certainly needs to
  22. Today
  23. Probably why he didn't last long at those then. Nor is he implementing this relentless press that he was apparently known for. Probably down to lack of attacking players to bring on. Which is down to lack of attacking signings. Which is down to a lack of plan/money/organisation.
  24. McLaughlin, I thought was excellent, great feet, composed, looks a bargain- the rest of the new lads were a bit non-descript to be honest. Did Tavares even touch the ball when he came on?
  25. New season and despite expecting defeat and us to have no attacking threat whatsoever, losing still hurt. Football still makes or ruins a Saturday night. Something you'll never understand Venkys.
  26. He was direct at Barnsley, sightly less so at West Brom & by the time he was at Watford he was very much playing out from the back
