Championship 24/25
simongarnerisgod replied to Forever Blue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
when i played schoolboy football training on a wednesday night was about how far you could kick it,tackling hard but fair and those horrible crosses into the box that you were supposed to head in ,thankfully being small and a full back i never had to endure the nightmare, though having the head the ball straight from a goal kick on sunday mornings was torture, always hated heading the ball, even if you got it plumb on the forehead it still had you seeing stars -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If we are struggling by next Jan and he needs some backing and doesn't get it he'll probably bail out before he gets a relegation on his cv. Ditto if we are doing well then players start dropping like flies mid season and he's told there's nothing in Jan he'll get the feelers put out for another gig and Rovers will happily gobble up the compen before scouring the scrapheap again. If we are plodding along going nowhere and a firesale of players is brewing nicely he'll probably get an extension. -
Thanks to everyone who voted in our Match Centre throughout the season. The votes have been collected, tabulated and ranked & we can now announce the winner of our annual Player of the Season award. In 3rd place is skipper LEWIS TRAVIS In 2nd place is centre back DANNY BATTH But your winner is the midfield maestro SONDRE TRONSTAD. CONGRATULATIONS to Sonny from everyone at BRFCS.com 👏👏👏 ⚪️🔵 MOTM template.mp4

Yeah agreed, really decent season from him where hes been very good alongside Batth. After Travis, Brittain and Tronstad hes probably our most important player to retain.
-
Hyam’s looked a lot better recently. He looks sharper and quicker. Think he was badly affected by injury and loss of confidence. Him and DB have been a good combo

The balls used today would be noticeably lighter and thinner than the leather balls Payton played with in the 80’s and 90’s.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
RevidgeBlue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He's failed in his task for this season but we're likely stuck with him for the forseeable so no alternative but to get behind him unless or until he proves otherwise next season. Personally think he'll be fairly bomb proof if he keeps us bobbing along just above the safety line whilst introducing a few Academy players along the way. Probably not what the majority of us want to see as fans but I suspect that's as good as it will get under this ownership from now on. One thing's for certain though, if he's genuinely expecting substantial support in the summer to remould the squad in his own style, he's likely to end up as disapppinted as the last 2 Head Coaches. -

VAR has worked very well in the Newcastle game. 3 penalties given but only a stupid Ayari handball was actually a genuine penalty, one was outside the box and one was a dive. Van Hecke really does like diving into challenges and can be a bit of a liability around good players.
-
All so the regime can turn around and say that they've reduced prices and made efforts to try and increase numbers. But in reality it won't, it will just break up the support more as a few move from the BBE to the Riverside creating gaps in what has tended to be a well populated and noisy BBE lower.
-
And the reason they bumped up prices in the Riverside in the first place was to get the camera facing stands busier (which worked). Now they’ve gone the other way and it will empty out the others instead. Such a bunch of incompetents, beggars belief.
-
I dont get why Hyam is being lumped in with the disposable crap.

Does Mashed Potatoes support The Arsenal? -
That's probably an extremely low bar.

Riverside is going to look a bit better for the players walking out by the sounds of it but the JW will look sparse. All i see is people saying they are moving there, even from the BBE, only at this club could they create musical chairs with the same set of fans rather than new ones snapping them up. Costing themselves in the process by people moving to the cheaper stand, might as well just have reduced other areas and tried to actually get more in instead of creating fresh empty seats. Unreal lack of brains.

We haven't seen Pickering under Ismael either. Could be looking at offloading him too.
-
New deal, but a squad player at most quality wise. He’s better than Kargbo, that’s for sure.

A decent season in the Premier League and a few caps for Nigeria would probably be enough for that lot. -

He is a journeyman by any definition of said football parlance (27 and he’s been at 8 clubs). Though if being able to read Wikipedia makes me an ‘expert’, then I’ll take it 👌
