I’m not so much worried about him being ready, as opposed to whether someone who has spent the majority of their career in the Italian pub leagues is anywhere near as good. -
The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.
chaddyrovers replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
All fair points Parson. Given that Pears hasn't feature all pre season and the comments from Ismael plus these hair transplant rumours I don't think we see him again. Didn't Raya go on loan to Southport? Can I asked you for your opinion on Jack Barrett and whether you think he could make the step up to be third choice or not? -

If you cant see that the twitter account in question is someone on the inside, trying to manipulate fans against departing players and trying to make the club seem helpless in such situations, then I dunno what to say. It is someone who has a 100% record in revealing news. For that, they must be right up the food chain. Whether its one of Gestede/Sufi/Owen or someone they are purposely feeding news to, I dont know. The account aside from revealing incomings has been happy to repeatedly imply that Brittain and Travis have been unprofessional, have defended the club on contracts and claimed they were offered ages ago despite all of those players saying publically that they hadnt, and has got into spats with fans who have not swallowed the bullshit, even calling Glen Mullan a "doom merchant." For someone so keen on strong communication, you surely not only can see that but recognise that its grossly unprofessional from the individual and the club to communicate like this from behind an anonymous twitter handle. I did expect Travis to leave but only because of our pathetic inability to sort contracts out. I also knew that these issues would totally overshadow everything else. Its depressing to see another key player leave and replaced this time by a guy relegated from the Swiss league, on loan, who is injured. -

Weimann and Sanderson been really weak -
Derby look atrocious - they've regressed badly since last season. Bristol look pretty handy also, some clever play.

The Venkys don't care. The really don't. They don't know how we're doing. They don't care if we get relegated. They don't care if you do or don't go on the games. They don't care who's in charge of the club on a day to day basis. They haven't provided instructions to the management on how the club is run as that would require them to care, but as I mentioned before they don't. They don't care if we sell our best players and replace them with cheaper players, they really don't. All they care about is the massive black hole they have on their balance sheet because they happened to buy an old English football team. A black hole which has been funded by debt and grants provided by the Indian government (and others). To this date they haven't realised that debt, there is no sunk cost fallacy. At the moment, they haven't lost anything, but if they sold they'd need to book a huge loss in their accounts. This is a problem. The thing is that the debt isn't on the club. If the Venkys sold up, the black hole wouldn't fall on "us" due to the equity set up (there are smaller debts, e.g. from HMRC, we do need to be concerned about but we can ignore them for now). If you chant against the regime at home games, it doesn't matter because they aren't listening. If you protest before the game, it doesn't matter because they aren't watching. If you throw a chicken on the pitch, it's done on deaf ears because, well, we're just an asset. The only way you can impact change is by one of the following: 1. Help get them promoted to the prem so that we are worth more than the black hole and we can be sold. 2. Get the debt in Indian forgiven so the owners will sell. 3. Make the situation so fucking embarrassing for the Venkys IN INDIA that they will stomach a huge loss on their balance sheet. This means going to India and doing things. So, what are you going to do? And I won't accept hiding from the problem by not attending the games or shouting Venkys out into a vacuum.

How poor is West Ham defending? They need a coupe of signings but I don't think they got the quality to play wing back system Chelsea doing all this without Cole Palmer.

Wet Spam 4-1 down after 55 mins. Potter under massive pressure already this season. They deserve everything they get there, deluded babies. Hounded out the manager who won them a trophy over 'style of football' and everyone they've brought in since to play tippy tappy has been muck Edit *5-1 after 58 mins 😄

So why did clubs spend 2 billion in summer but only 90million in January. Why didn’t they just all go out and buy their targets in January? How many England under 21 caps did Alex Scott have when he moved to Bournemouth in the summer before for almost £30 million? -

Its good that Travis's replacement has signed already and here. Looks hope he is ready after the international break. Loan to buy is sensible move given what we know about why he failed a medical a few weeks ago. On Travis leaving, its a shame he is going but most people thought he would go this summer. Don't get why Derby but its his choice. Eustace factor I guess. Well, its got busy later in the day and Nixon will do a story on a winger on Sunday who is turning on Travis? Didn't you think he would leave this summer given the Eustace links and he had 12 months left on his contract Yes I did and people did ridiculed me. I think its a very smart move by Ismael but also given Cantwell trust and leadership of the head coach. -

In recent years this is a game I’d look at and think, a definite point to gain and no reason not to go for all three and full optimism and belief going into it excited to watch the game. There is no excitement for tomorrow or optimism, expecting us to be marginally beat by another team who will likely be fighting to avoid relegation alongside us -

It was 18 million. That is not a big fee, it's paid over his contract so he signs a 4 year deal less than 5 million is going on that seasons books. If there was zero doubts about him then bigger teams would have been in for him at the 18 million not waiting until the summer and paying 30 Also do many clubs make world class talents available for such little fees in january usually they add a premium ffs?.There was an opportunity there to get a top talent for peanuts really but nobody bit apart from Palace. -

Adding 5 million to their books for that year would have made them fail Psr? Imo he would have gone in the summer anywhere for between 22-25 million. I think his talent is worth more but I genuinely think its pie in the sky to think we would have been receiving bids of 30 million for him a few months after teams could have bought him for 18. Wrongly I agree but Archie Gray had a bigger reputation than Adam Wharton and again I know some think it means fuck all but Gray played all age groups for England was in the under 21s at 17 or 18 years of age and had been involved in a Leeds squad in the prem. Dibling was a bright spark for Southampton last season in the Premier league hence the ridiculous price tag If we had been in the Premier league and got relegated with Adam Wharton and he showed the quality he had done for us in the championship then we would have been getting massive bids -

IT - WAS - JANUARY. Go research the top 10 fees paid by teams in the Prem in Jan 2024. Then look at the top 10 fees paid that summer. Premier League clubs spent just £96.2m on new signings during the January 2024 window - the lowest winter spending in three years, with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) slashing clubs' spending power. In the summer practically every club bought at least 2 players for over £10mill. Some were buying multiple players over £20million. Premier League clubs splashed £2.08bn on new signings during the summer window - not quite hitting the record-breaking £2.44bn spent last year. £96.2mill in Jan. £2.08bn in summer. Still think we wouldn’t have got much more? -

Amazed reading the LET comments about Trav leaving…. Has to be plants. a player who bled blue and white and did work hard for the badge - not a mutinous snake if those views resemble even a portion of the views of the wider fanbase we really have hit a low point in humanity and mental capabilities. As soon as a player or manager leaves now suddenly everyone is a greedy snake who we should be glad to be rid of…
