  1. Past hour
  2. Last season Oxford fans regarded it as a miracle that he kept them up. Widely acknowledged they have a League 1 team and budget. Having seen a couple of Oxford games this season i would agree with that assessment. Done a solid to good job wherever he has been. Would definitely want him. If he wasn't undermined by shambolic owners and higher ups I reckon he'd get us in or around the playoffs.
  3. It's back up now, noticed Alexander and Rowett shortened heavily with OGS, Smith and Cifuenetes too as outsiders
  4. West Brom Confirm Andrew Nestor's Departure Amid Relegation Fight Last updated 2 hours ago West Bromwich Albion parted ways with president and sporting director Andrew Nestor after two turbulent years marked by managerial changes and poor results. Nestor oversaw four head coaches—Carlos Corberan, Tony Mowbray, Ryan Mason, and now Eric Ramsay—while the team sits 22nd in the Championship, two points above relegation with just one point from their last six games. Fans expressed frustration online, criticizing the cold club statement and calling for experienced football figures to step in as the club battles to stay up ahead of Saturday's home game against Stoke.
  5. Just a reminder that whoever comes in, will be of benefit to Suhail and Rudy, not for Blackburn Rovers football club.
  6. How is it the other way round? I am not advocating for the safe bet. But if it is the adventurous, we'd better go for the Alebiuso version of unproven instead of the De Neve version 😉
  7. Having kept teams in the division before, I guess.
  8. He did well in Scandinavia and comes across as quite knowledgeable. But I guess the one thing that impressed me was how he kept a dead cert for relegation QPR up. Of course, I agree that Leicester was not that great, and there are no guarantees. A bit better than the rest of the dross we are linked with, and knows the championship.
  9. The thing is they can't any longer even try to bullshit any manager candidates into believing they have any ambition at the club anymore other than to sell our youngsters and buy cheap sell high in the transfer market. The only ambition the board has is to try and keep the books relatively balanced for the slumlords in pune
  10. It's the other way round. Challinor safe hands for league 1... Has a point to prove at a higher level.
  11. He doesn't want it.
  12. what makes them keep-us-up candidates? calm under pressure? can rally the team? what style of football do they bring, coaching style etc.. DJ would make more sense surely?
  13. They still planning on doing this Fans Forum meeting next Monday with no manager, no substantial incomings, possibly sat in the bottom 3 and a legal charge from our kit supplier?
  14. I not seen much from Cifuentes to suggest he'd be a safe pair of hands. If he was plain old Joe Bloggs would he get a second look from anyone?
  15. The club poaching the player should have to pay a fee. The FA could set up a body to adjudicate the amount.
  16. Sensible, keep-us-up, candidates: Rowett Cifuentes A bit more adventurous, but with higher risk: Challinor The rest of the ones currently linked: no, thank you.
  17. The guy who wants out at the end of the season?
  18. Would be good if he could be part of interview process on the new manager Anyone know if he has been involves earlier?
  19. I like Nigel Clough. Not his Dad (who could be) but Im surprised he doesnt get a bit more recognition.
  20. Rowett in isolation sounds acceptable, but I'm concerned that we'd be appointing someone who got sacked by a team below us in the table.
  21. I tend to agree but Id at least give him a chance, same with anyone, even Coyle back in the day. Don't know what it is but my gut says " Hell No" to Alexander but I increasingly I would be quite excited if Challinor came. There's no real rhyme or reason to it, their respective Clubs are only 3 points apart in League 1. Stockport appear to have won 4 out of the last 5 and Bradford appear to have lost 3 out of their last 5. I think the reason is that like you I view Alexander as a managerial journeyman whereas Challinor doesnt really seem to have put a foot wrong in his career as yet. I've had a look at Alexander's record and it's not bad but his recent job with Bradford apart Im not that blown away. I still have it in the back of my mind that he was absolutely terrible at one of his previous Clubs, losing every week which became a bit of a standing joke before he was sacked. Both seem a bit unlikely given our historic aversion to paying compensation as well. To summarise Id be really disappointed with Alexander.
  22. he took oxford to where they are now?
  23. Rowett far too sensible for this lot unfortunatly.
  24. He has shown terrific humility in that interview, a welcome change from the previous incumbent. He comes across as a really decent person and the type of coach players would want to play for. If he doesn't get the job I think it's imperative he is kept on. His understanding of the local area and people is an absolute asset.
  25. Cifuentes in from 33s to 12-1
