2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Could you elaborate further? What is this SBI instrument? (bank?) How much did they borrow? Are you saying that amount is now spent and this is the reason for the dramatic budget cuts? If it is an Indian bank, what are the terms of payback? Can it just go on indefinitely? Who is the borrowing signitory (sic)? Are you suggesting that the only way the Raos leave is if one of i-iii of your list happens? -

Never made clear what we are actually transitioning to… apart from the lower leagues. -
I just remembered how JDT used to attend almost all the U21 games to keep an eye on them all. Anybody know if Val attends any games?

It is as clear a case of the Sunk Cost Fallacy as I've ever come across.. Dictionary Definitions from Oxford Languages · Learn more sunk-cost fallacy noun the phenomenon whereby a person is reluctant to abandon a strategy or course of action because they have invested heavily in it, even when it is clear that abandonment would be more beneficial. -

For gods sake guys .....all monies spent till now is monitization of SBI instrument and borrowed against ... which is why court case triggered for non-intended expenditure and court ask them put their own monies as collateral ... not spending double like media and PR circus... if they sell the club instrument will be called and they need to repay loan ..so they'll keep kicking the can down the road till they can politically write off as bad debt in SBI 3 possible scenario for loan to be bad debt in INDIA I) borrowing signitory dies, II) lynchpin who brokered this(suhail) loses confidence or dies III) Venky's get enough political clout to exit this mess this could be all my paranoia 😄 - Today

I got a reply from the club regarding no sky sports (personally I think they should be trying to make it a bit of a sports bar vibe with rovers historic pictures plastered everywhere, not sure i want to watch re runs of games and interviews we've already seen. 😞 Last season, because of the high subscription fees charged by Sky Sports, we had to introduce a matchday membership fee for access to Blues. To keep Sky Sports in Blues this season, the subscription costs would have been significant, meaning we’d have had to increase the price of membership. Instead, we want to make Blues accessible and affordable for all supporters. Over the summer we made the decision to switch to RoversTV, which allows us to remove the subscription charge while still offering great matchday value. We understand that some fans enjoy watching the 12:30pm and 5:30pm televised fixtures. For those supporters, Sky Sports will still be available in Jack’s Kitchen on a matchday, with access available as part of a £15 upgrade. In Blues, we’ll be showing classic Rovers matches and exclusive Rovers content before and after the game, creating a space that feels even more connected to the club.

What’s your view on our owners, Parson? (That’s our owners, not other clubs’). -
I’d spotted on Twitter that Jackson had been tweeted to re the Blues Bar issue. Now, maybe I’ve watched too many films, but surely any journo worth his salt will be thinking - ‘Club that almost got in the PL play offs less than four months ago has voluntarily relegated it’s women’s side to playing clubs that sound like Soccerdome five a side teams, now they don’t even have Sky Sports showing in their, err, sports bar… there’s a thread here.

In my opinion, it is not so much that some parts of the minutes had been censored, but that there shouldn't need to be censorship. I am not saying that this type of censorship has happened at previous meetings, but the opportunity for it to happen was there. People will now come to their own conclusions.

I miss the days "transition" meant going from attack to defence or vice-versa, and not the gutting of a squad to save money -

There were protests about Jim Iley in the 70s. Remember everyone shouting outside the Boardroom on Nuttall Street. Difference then was they were local businessmen who had customers in the town, so protests could have a direct influence on their business. Today, clubs are owned by global enterprises whose owners are often based on a different continent! -
I think at the time Turkey were a developing nation ((in football terms), & scouting wasn't nearly as worldwide as it is now. The 3 foreign player rule only ended in the late(ish) 90s so clubs didnt stock their squads up with players from afar as they couldn't play them anyway & it took a little time for clubs/managers to start using as many foreign players as we see now It seemed more common in those days to discover an unearthed gem (Kinkladze & Pahars spring to mind as other examples). I am not sure if it played a part in him moving to Rangers, but Souness was Tugays manager at Galatasaray in the mid 90s, so it wouldn't surprise me if he played some part in Tugay moving to the UK, and was obviously a huge part in why he ended up at Rovers after his stay in Scotland I would hazard a guess that it was a "perfect storm" of events as to how and why he ended up at Rovers, and if it was in the current era, he would have been at one of the top 8 or 10 clubs in Europe
