My first thought upon seeing Chris Coleman mentioned was that he has worked with Steve Kean. Forget him being a former player here. It is his association with Kean that has my radar going. Which other Championship jobs has Chris Coleman been linked with recently? I genuinely don't know.
-
It is possible , he still has links with Gestede !
-
Chris Coleman as mentioned as the favourite on the last page would be a laughable appointment. Wonder if he would bring his old assistant from his Fulham days. Steve Kean.
-
Depressing looking at their squad now versus our own - chalk and cheese for a team actually backing a successful manager at the right timing (imagine if we did the same for JDT or Eustace!) Agyemang, Brereton, Szmodics, Bobby Clark, Carlton Morris - any of those 5 would instantly be our best attacking option. I think they've built the best squad outside of parachute payment clubs and Coventry to be honest.

Amass left there to go on loan to Norwich a few days ago. Since then he's picked up an injury and is headed back to United for assessment. -
I think it is probably going to be one from three agencies they have been familiar with over the past 15 years. Miller mentioned the main one to look out for last night in HSH. The other two are Unique (Val's agency) and SMI. Looking at the managers the three of those represent, I'll take a guess and say I expect to see the following in the running/linked by the press: 1) Any from the HSH list. I think there's a possibility Sami Hyypia is being considered for the role. There has been a Liverpool flavour here for a long while, plus Vignal (former Liverpool) has only recently joined the club. Hyypia managed Brighton in the past too, so if anybody behind the scenes has deluded visions of the 'Brighton model' (which this lot could never replicate), then Hyypia could be a shout. 2) Will Still (Unique). Currently available. 3) Marti Cifuentes (Unique). Currently available. 4) Lee Bowyer (SMI). Currently available. 5) Aitor Karanka. His agency is FIA, but he has been linked with the Rovers job in the past and his previous Boro connection makes him a possibility, IMO. He is currently in some kind of Technical Development role with the Spanish National team. Would he leave that to come here? Hmm, maybe. This might be his only route back into the Championship/English football for now. I think Cifuentes and Will Still are going to be out of reach. The former is said to be wanted by Watford. Will Still might feel that he can do better and wait for another opportunity. Number (4) is my guy feeling as to who it will be.

With the greatest of respect to those throwing new manager names around does it really matter who we get when the squad is so weak and we have completely disinterested owners ? If by some miracle we survive this season will next season be any better ? Will the owners back the new manager in the transfer market ? Will they reduce season ticket prices to get the stadium rocking ? Will we increase our 4K Adult season ticket holders ? Will the club engage with lapsed fans ? Sadly we know all of these answers, nothing matters other than strangling the life out of Venkys until they are gone. Don't spend in the stadium, don't spend in the shop and when season tickets go on sale for next seasons "journey" if you must buy one leave it until the very last minute. We are an empty shell, a new manager will arrive and good luck to him, but we are simply shuffling the deck chairs around on the Titanic..

Yes. You've got to limit it to people who have a reputation to repair. Lee Bowyer, Ryan Mason etc..
-
It would absolutely hurt, no question, to see Trav lifting the playoff trophy would be absolutely gut wrenching but if that’s what it takes to get the media talking about the demise of Blackburn Rovers and the attraction of jumping from a club in the play offs to a club in danger of relegation, I’ll take it. We could appoint Jurgen Klopp but still can’t see him getting this current squad challenging for much. Tronstad walks in the summer, Toth & Alebiosu sold on. We need something to trigger a change.

For real?

Just seen Sheffield Wednesday have had a way better window than us in my opinion. Nakamba from Luton Amass Man Utd Jerry Yates Ethan Horvath Joe Lumley Jaden Heskey Nathan Redmond All better than we’ve bought in. -
Kinell that's more than enough of a link to get the alarm bells ringing.

ChatGPT's take... as i shared the full list of next blackburn manager from oddschecker and someone RG can share his dulcet tones with... From your list, the clearest fit for “can speak French and is a oui man” (i.e., comfortable in French and likely to say oui rather than just English-only) is: 🇧🇪 Raphael Wicky 4 Swiss international. Switzerland has multiple official languages, including French. Wicky has worked in multilingual environments and speaks French. Also very likely French-speaking: 🇧🇪 William Still 4 Born in Belgium. Managed in France (Reims). Fluent French speaker. Possible French speakers (but less certain) Carlos Corberán – Spanish; may understand some French but not known primarily as French-speaking. Vito Pereira – Portuguese; has coached in various countries but no strong French link. Slaven Bilić – Multilingual but not known for French fluency. Not French speakers (generally English / Scandinavian / German / Iberian only) Most of the British and Irish names (e.g., Rooney, Gerrard, Mowbray, Southgate, etc.) are not known for speaking French publicly. Short Answer If you're looking for a genuine French-speaking “oui man”, your strongest bets are: ✅ Raphael Wicky ✅ William Still

Coleman was in that section yesterday 🫣 Agent: "World In Motion" - Doesn't look like much of a Rovers link...only Toth & Alebiosu on their books as far as I can see.

Chris Coleman haha bloody hell.

Its baffling that we decided to keep Tyjon. Anything to do with the managerial change? Is Damien going to have him in the squad tonight and insist on playing him? -
That would just hurt too much for me. I doubt the owners even know who John Eustace is. And as for Gestede and Pasha they'll just mention that he wanted to move closer to his family home and that will be that.
-
And has the same agent as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

I'm a massive Asteras Tripolis fan as it happens...........

Every time we get to this point people say: "We're a name, people will want to manage Blackburn Rovers" "It's a Championship job, there will always be takers" Etc, etc. Seriously, at this point, after managers effectively walking out 3 years in a row (Ismael technically sacked or mutual agreement, but he was clearly absolutely sick of it). Who other than grossly unqualifieds and absolute chancers are going to want this job? Everyone in football speaks to each other. Players, coaches, staff. Anyone with any credentials or reputation is going to know we're a complete basket case and will not be applying. That's why we got VI. One or even two failed managers in a row, and the next manager might think they're the one to turn it round. 3 managers in 3 years, always the second the Jan window shuts? It's a red flag you could see from space. All the names we're saying we would like - would you take the job if you were them? I wouldn't!

Yes, absolutely. Not keen on Martin at all but at least he's demonstrated some competence in the Championship in his career. Coleman done nothing in club management in years.
