I agree with him regarding Anderson. A hard working player but he hasn’t got the passing ability that Wharton has. Another instant pass yesterday that created the Palace first goal. You could see how he spotted what was on the cards a couple of seconds before everybody else. -

Blackburn Rovers have been warned, to sort the pitch out. Does this mean, no money next Summer to strengthen the squad, heads should roll over this fiasco. Why wasn't it sorted, when Jack Walkers hard earned money was still invested in the club. -
Rovers's January transfer needs

Nixon suggesting that moving Gueye out is largely down to getting the wages down even more! Unreal, the players we've signed must be on less than all the ones that left. -

Grant McCann seems unaware of how terrible Rovers are with communication 😉 https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25679653.blackburn-rovers-stance-january-recall-defender/ Doncaster boss Grant McCann is wary he could lose O'Riordan but stated last week that nothing had been communicated on whether Rovers would recall the defender. "We have to be mindful that with some of the loan players there's break clauses in there," McCann told Doncaster Free Press. There are agreements in place for both parties so we just have to be mindful of that. We have to be prepared for whatever January throws at us because you just don't know with this particular window. But we're prepared in every position and so if we need to go and act then we're ready to do that." "No, nothing as of yet," he added on communications over their loanees. "But I don't think any club wants to make decisions right now. I think we have nine or ten games before that decision has to be made in January. "Even if clubs are thinking of it (recall), I don't think they want to let their players know yet anyway, because it's not great if they know that they're going to be pulled back in January. All of a sudden you can lose focus or form. But, as I say, we're prepared for that."

Everton or Tottenham away, as I doubt I’d ever see Rovers at those places otherwise.

With Waggott gone (and enjoying his lucrative gardening leave), Pasha is likely to be out of the country, so there's nobody left apart from a few minions. -

Grabbed another assist and MOTM display yesterday against Fulham. Nice to see high praise for our academy too in some quarters: https://x.com/rajsinghchohan/status/1997762721543024880?s=20 -

Looking at the radar, it's going to be extremely heavy in the early hours through to lunch - ease off then back heavy before stopping at around KO time.. the only saving grace seems to be no rain forecast during the match. However i think the significant downpour during the day will be enough to call it. River hasn't gone lower than the levels before Kick off on Saturday... - Today

Suppose it depends how much damage is done between midnight tonight and lunchtime tomorrow while the weather warning is in place, but it's then clear from 1pm for the rest of the day. -

A trench installed to angle water down to a tank between the Riverside and BBE with pumps on standby before during and after the game. Angle the the run off toward the trench with new pipes installed. They've either become clogged, or they've perished. Only real option is to put new pipes intermittently, something that can be done during a break that can see our season out until a proper revamp is scheduled in the off season

The lack of apology alone shows a significant lack of class from the club. I'd expect nothing else from those in charge though, I highly suspect they aren’t taking any blame, nor putting any on the owners either. What you've written is the bare minimum I'd expect from a football club in this situation. Absolutely no chance with these clowns in charge though. -
They are out thankfully.

Cricket
onlyonejackwalker replied to Blue n White Rover's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
Why did it take until the shit was truly hitting the fan for us to start playing attritional cricket? We lost 6 wickets in 32 overs. Then Stoke and Jacks put on 96 in 37 overs. Stokes scored 50 from 150, Jacks 41 from 92. They survived 3 hours, left a lot alone, only drove at half volleys, played mostly on the floor. I don't agree this is a poor Australian team. We aren't seriously testing them and they've got gears to go up in my view. This is the culmination of two or three years of sloppy, slapdash cricket. You can't suddenly refine your technique against the very best. It was probably worth the gamble trying to transport one day cricket into the test arena. But enough is enough. Th8s series is over afyer 6 days of cricket. Its been entertaining at times, but only because Root has dug in and rescued us time and time again. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. .... Well done to Crawley this test. He is obviously not an opener, but the test selectors know better than me. I don't dislike him as a batsmen, just hate him opening. I'd love to see him at 5 or 6 against tired bowlers and an older ball. If his aversge still remained at 30, then bin him for good. Robin Smith averaged nearly 50 in home tests and over 40 when jettisoned. Because he struggled against spin. Why not give him 30 extra tests to work it out? What a bad decision that was, poor bloke. RIP big man.
