  2. "on the other hand, the bacon butties at Gawthorpe are only a short drive down the A671.." or, Cantwell, "Behold! See how the uninitiated hang on my every word as Captain.." Ismael, "STFU Mr Bouffant, when I want your opinion, I'll give it to you.."
  3. Oi Pasha!..is that you hiding behind that Corner post?
  4. Which-ever way it goes, I will be in my house on matchdays.
  5. Shall we open a book? I know where my money is going
  6. We do have the option of playing three at the back, until one of the three get injured or suspended. It is a risky strategy, but it is available. If VI does choose this plan, and it is successful, happy days. If not then he will have to try another plan.
  7. I think we are about to find out.
  8. Valerien Ismael insists his support of the French President does not interfere with his role at Rovers…
  9. Waggott, himself, said he brought Eustace in... Re two factions, in the early days, I always wondered whether the two factions reflected two different owners...
  10. Is that the exit gate ?
  11. "Half of these lads can't kick a ball straight why does Makhtar get to drive the Tractor?"
  12. Bit of fun using the Rovers gallery each week i will add a photo, just add a caption 😆 GO!
  13. Completely different time periods.

  15. I think it was, I seem to recall some link to his playing days at Coventry coinciding with Waggott working for them but I may be wrong.
  16. Yep, I am in two minds as to if that is a good or a bad thing - it stops everyone pulling in the same direction, which kills any hope of us ever progressing But - I am terrified what direction that may be. If it stops us being pulled further downwards, at a faster rate, then 2 warring factions may be a good thing
  17. Wasn't Waggot the man who brought Eustace in ? From various rumours and hints it seems he had a problem with the rest of them behind the scenes and not particularly Waggot who was clearly being sidelined at that point. There has always seemed to be two factions wrestling behind the scenes at Ewood.
  18. @aletheia I can go for plenty of that. I would say that the main overriding difference from my perspective is the necessity of seeing what transpires on the pitch first. Re “stuff”; Some of it has been questionable to say the least (he made someone cry? Come on ffs), and I just can’t fathom what people get out of putting it into a forum, when if some of it was as quantifiable as claimed, it would be in the news. If a colleague of mine said or did something similar to another colleague, I’d deal with it professionally, not leak it to someone to post online.
  19. Marv Johnson - I’ll Pick A Rose For My Rose
  20. But just the right amount of hot… Guns N Roses - November Rain
  21. He is "a 10", rather than an out and out centre forward Even so, has strike rate for last season was just under 1 in 3 (6 in 19, which also factors in his 6 minutes over 2 appearances for the first team) If we take out those 2 games for the first team, then he scored 6 goals across 17 appearances, during which he played an average of less than 62 minutes per game. not bad in my opinion especially for a 16 year old who isn't playing as a centre forward, and is also playing a few levels above his age group Summary 2024/25 19 Games 6 Goals Scored G M GS AST Premier League International Cup 2 114 0 0 Premier League 2 7 471 4 0 EFL Championship 2 6 0 0 U21 PL Cup 2 125 0 0 National League Cup 2 108 0 0 15 824 4 0 National Friendlies 1 90 0 0 Euro Quals U17 3 138 2 0 4 228 2 0 Total 19 1052 6 0
  22. He is not back at the same level, Macclesfield got promoted last season, and are one of the favourites to do so again. so Edmondson has gone from a 2 month loan at a top end tier 7 team to a half season loan at a top end tier 6 team For a comparison, Montgomery was at this level (tier 6) last season, but is 2 years Edmondson's senior (Montgomery turns 22 later this season, Edmondson turns 20 later this season), and Montgomery was originally at Marine who where one of the favourites for relegation, before getting his move to Chorley after Christmas RE if Rovers profits financially from sending players out on loan, there are generally some % of wages covered (although this is less the lower down the pyramid you get, especially as we get into part time clubs), and there may be loan fees involved for longer term loans, although this again is probably negligible below EFL level. Longer term loans like O'Riordan, may have other bonuses factored in, like Rovers getting a bonus if Doncaster are promoted etc. However, major profits with loaning out players tend to only happen if you are loaning out to Championship level or above, which seeing as that is where Rovers find themselves, that isn't going to happen, so the main focus of loans is player development, both for the benefit of Rovers, and the individual players themselves

  25. Was Tyjon ever prolific? In past season or so, he hasn't seemed to have had the impact for the U21s or England youth that his hype would suggest. That said, he is a lot younger, of course, and suffered numerous niggly injuries. I just wonder if he's burning out early.. or whether it is something of a plateau before further development.
  26. Yup, mentioned it before but Crystal Palace played him for several games, I believe, last season, carrying a groin injury. Without having any medical knowledge, it strikes me as irresponsible and, even, cynical, given that his form had captured attention of the media and big clubs, apparently.
  27. Just imagine - Gueye goes, Gudjohnsen gets crocked against France …
