  1. Past hour
  2. (I will whisper it, I am pleased Bratfud got promoted. If we are going down this silly grading road, at least it is a proper, historic team to benefit. Plenty more blood and thunder derbies in there now which may be what SL needs to spurn a touch of interest. Hudds may even get 700 on the gate!)
  3. That's Salford gone. I just don't understand, they had so many Instagram followers and a nice, modern stadium. That's how League now works, right?
  4. I would say send Gueye to Cardiff in an exchange for Yousef Salech, 23 year old, superb big danish striker and sign Bali Mumba as cover for Alebiosu.
  5. He also said Davies would have got back and it was at best a 50/50, but if it were his team of course he would be wanting the red. Nothing controversial and not saying it was a definite red
  6. The issue with these figures for most of us fans is that on paper they look 'good'. The Venky-clapping "no one else would ever want to own us" fans can laud their financial prudence for keeping the lights on and the players being paid. The figs look good to the footballing authorities - everything legal and above board, so nothing to see here. The figs look good to any journalists and fans of other clubs. "Why do Blackburn Rovers fans always complain about their owners, they still think it's 1995". I feel like we're being subjected to a fifteen year long psychological experiment. We can see the dismantling, downgrading and deterioration of the football club down to the husk it is now, but the rest of the world will just seen Kieran Maguire's tweet about how our revenue is up and our losses are down and move on.
  7. Looked up some stats for my own sanity, and our record on 90+ minute goals = 19/20- 1 goal 20/21- 0 goals 22/23 – 5 goals 23/24 – 4 goals 24/25 – 3 goals 25/26 - 6 goals (after 18 games) So, we went from being the best in the league in those first 2 seasons, to being about average/mid-table in the next 3, to being by far the worst this season. (Next teams have 3 goals this year) Some of the 90+ minute Top of the Pops over those years: 19/20- Sheff Wed = 10 goals (not relegated) 19/20- Charlton = 8 goals (relegated) 21/22- Bristol City = 9 goals (not relegated) 21/22- Peterborough = 8 goals (relegated) 23/24- Huddersfield = 10 goals (relegated) 24/25- Sheff Wed = 7 goals (not relegated) So my definitely not scientific conclusion is that if you end up top of that particular stat, there's a 50/50 chance that relegation is on the cards.
  8. Despite him being a professional athlete, I still see it as setting him up for failure but he simply can't perform that duty. He has no pace, runs like I do in my dreams running away from a monster 🤣
  9. You beat me to it, he has the nous, touch, turning circle and understanding of the offside rule, of an ox.
  10. What's the actual ruling on the last man, is it a trip is a trip ? Regardless of how it came about? Accidental or not?
  11. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous to me. He's a professional athlete. Asking him to harry defenders on the ball for 10 mins isn't asking anything of him that shouldn't be expected. Setting him up for failure? Please.
  12. Bloody hell, what's with all these multiple week innocuous injuries?!
  13. I didnt put other, but for a short term impactful cameo in the promotion year. Eyal Berkovic, was just that little to unlock defences at the back end of the season.
  14. I cant speak Polish, so the youtube interview is useless to me, but former senior scout, Piotr Sadowski has apparently said that the data driven approach etc is Adam Owens domain Also, Marcel Regula may be a name to keep an eye out for. Sounds like we were having a look at him during the summer, and we do like to revisit old targets According to Sadowski, the Championship side’s plan was to sign the player and send him on loan elsewhere. He hasn’t explained why Blackburn Rovers weren’t able to get the deal for Regula over the line. “I can say that he was the apple of my eye. I really regret that this player didn’t end up there, but at the time, he would have been a so-called ‘project’,” Sadowski explained. “He wouldn’t have earned the necessary points to receive a work permit in England and the ability to play immediately. “Furthermore, Blackburn Rovers didn’t have the option of giving him a ‘wild card’ at the time; a slot that would allow him to play immediately. The idea was to acquire the player and loan him out. He would have developed in a stronger league than the Ekstraklasa and at some point, would have joined Blackburn.”
  15. He's as weak as a kitten for a man of his stature. He gets outmuscled too easily and rarely wins headers even against defenders less tall than him. He's clumsy on the ball, lacks pace and cannot play with his back to goal. And on the rare occasions he gets sight of goal he usually scuffs it. Sell
  16. It’s nothing to do with any of this, imo. He’s simply not intelligent enough or committed enough to be a professional footballer at this level.
  17. I don't think De Neve or Gueye are good enough at the moment. They aren't being given enough time on the pitch for them to have a hope of turning things around, and when they do come on it is all too often towards the very end of a tight match when the rest of the team are tiring and unable to cover for their mistakes. Also Gueye is one of the laziest players we have had in a while. We should loan them both out to Division 1 clubs for at least half a season so they can get some proper game time, and then reassess at the end of the loan period. Pleased to see Cantwell back last night, and we have some real quality in Gudjohnsen, Alebiosu, Tronstad, Morishita and Toth. Ohashi works hard but lacks a decent finish, and I've yet to be impressed by Ribeiro and Tavares. Defensively we're not terrible but, as others have pointed out, there are better options on the bench than De Neve when we need to swap out our left back. As for Ismael, he's in a difficult position if his hands are tied with respect to which members of his squad he can and cannot field. Ultimately, the solution to that lies with the club's management and ownership. Both of whom, frankly, don't appear to give a crap.
  18. It felt a corrupt call from the referee (and his team) to not send off Ipswich's last man. It was a corner too, it looked a corner but the ref wanted to change the narrative of the game even after his inexcusable decision not to issue an obvious red. That referee shouldn't be anywhere near our future fixtures. I'm not a fan of Ismael but shame on the EFL. Last night was a step too far. The referee clearly favoured the boys who were in the Premier League last year all night, it was pathetic. We'd have been given a red without hesitation.
  19. If we don't win this match comfortably the manager needs to go.
  20. Did noticed he stepped off from running at them, no point forcing a play in dying minutes. Just felt he wasn't stepping up when he was meant to when their back line did have it toward the middle of the park.
  21. Here we go..the chaddy and roversfan99 love in.🥰
  22. Today
  23. There's no scapegoats, everything is ultimately the fault of our owners. Gueye is a very poor footballer but we've had quite a specific concentration of those in the last 15 years as opposed to the previous 135 years. Danny Murphy, Myles Anderson and so on. I don't think many fans see Gueye as the main issue at the club, he's just a symptom of how we are run.
  24. A must win. Absolutely no excuses. If he fails to win this, I want Ismael sacked straight after the full time whistle (I want him gone anyway but still)
  25. He's a confidence player and he's also a chaos engine. If you're going to play him he needs to start and you need to be during balls up to him / crossing balls into the box. Asking him to come on for 10 mins to chase hurried clearances upfield and close down multiple CBs on his own is setting him up for failure. He's 6'5" and strong as an ox. He's not a whippet like Ohashi - don't ask them to play the same way. It's not rocket science. And for clarity - I think he's a 10 goal a season striker if you played to his strengths, but he'd have a load of assists (and just generally disrupt the defence and cause chances to break for others).
