  1. Past hour
  2. Listen to Reg, spot on, as always: One of the best stadiums in the EFL. Which is incidentally kept in pristine condition in all areas. Ewood Park stadium is a credit to our owners, no financial cut backs to our iconic ground, well kept and maintained.
  3. I reckon Kargbo could be one of the new hero's, he could chip in with a few goals. Haven't seen Tavares in action yet, but I like his attitude, hes something to prove in English football. Hopefully we'll hold our own in the 25/26 season.
  4. Off Topic a bit, but has "The Gooner' come off twitter?
  5. I wonder whether disclosing how many players we have per โ€˜wage scaleโ€™ (eg ยฃ2,500 - ยฃ4,999 pw) would get around any data protection issues?
  6. Just listened to it at work good pod lads it's really interesting listening to all the different podcasts everyone has mixed views on things this the more level headed in tune pod imho
  7. If you are talking about Henriksson it's every Scandinavian footballer's dream to play in England. Fans follow English football too and don't begrudge their players that oportunity. Besides, a move to England usually give their clubs a significant cash boost.
  8. The Club has fooked up as a number of us predicted. They did not like being held to account by WATR so they turned to the FF to tick their box of consultation thinking they would get their own way. They were always going to get caught out with their pants down. There are some decent, intelligent and forceful folk on the supporters side of the FF. The latest score is: Supporters 1 v Narcissists 0 (own goal)
  9. been 9 for a couple of years from the summer of 2023- https://www.efl.com/news/2023/june/changes-to-championship-substitutions/
  10. When it is such a continuous pattern, and it stretches beyond the odd player running it down. When we have extended one players contract in is it nearly 2 years, and that was a new signing that signed on a peculiar 6 month deal. When we have key players coming out and saying they hadnt been even talked to at easter, with 1 year to go. Then yes, it is Rovers' fault.
  11. Wow, that is one stat that keeps inflating! I thought it was a mere 7 still...
  12. I have just woken up to the fact Keith Andrews is now a Premier League manager at Brentford. WTF???? His coaching experience to date (according to wikipedia) is : Brief stint as assistant to Karl Robison at MK Dons where they were relegated Assistant for ROI U21s for 2 years Assistant for ROI national team for 3 years Six months as "back room staff" at Sheffield Utd One season as Brentford's set piece coach Zero head coach / manager experience Any premier league team will have job applications from all over the world of the best managerial talent out there. This is really quite an amazing achievement by Keith! His coaching record would be seen as a bit of speculative punt by a lower half Championship club. Must have really made an impression with his set pieces to get a prem gig.... Any of our Irish fans got an insight into this incredible turn up? I guess he must have built his reputation with the national team?
  13. It has to be unless both clubs agree otherwise. I doubt thereโ€™s many occasions when both clubs would benefit from the fee being known. Personally I think all fees should have to be disclosed.
  14. Unless I am in the room how would we know. You act and posted like everything is Rovers fault but isn't the case. Some players will want and stay, some will move on cos they want a new challenge, some want more money than what we want to pay so move on or a middle ground can be found and agree terms. But you know all this RF99 My point was about the transfer business and us signing players that fitted in Ismael's profile of player
  15. End of the day why is this thread titled like it is? Because thatโ€™s generally been the remit of the FF. The club have tried to manoeuvre the FF in to being the group that covers all consultation with the club, and they were getting away with it too. So all power to Glen et al for using their conniving and pathetic shenanigans against them.
  16. Do you know what time they open on match days?
  17. The only thing that makes me think there was something in it was unleaded said it was expected to happen two years ago but it all went quiet. If it's been stalled for 2 weeks I dont see it happening but hypothetically at 28 I dont see the players age as an issue especially if he is good technically and not solely reliant on pace. Nor should the fee be an obstacle bearing in mind much of the headline figure will consist of add ons (if met) and the rest is payable in installments. I know you're not knocking it yourself and are only giving reasons why the Club may turn their nose up at it but Im not sure why a few are complaining about the fee - it's not their own money they're spending!
  18. In a normal world apologies would generally be acceptable for this kind of behaviour but (if this is what happened) they are trying to pretend it didn't happen. The absolute arrogance of them.
  19. No this story is true, @unleaded confirmed our interest in him. Down to Rovers getting it sort and hopefully we are doing that, think he would be smart signing and good player for us cos they have salary caps in NBA and you find the key players on more than a squad player.
  20. Glen's own words.. "My issue is the unprofessional outburst and aggressive nature of some of the club officials. They went to a place where they lost total control of their emotions and lashed out stating things they now clearly regret."
  21. Today
  22. American sports have the salary cap which is why those details are available.
  23. If that's the case (I have no idea so will accept you at your word), and it is legally possible to do so in the UK/Europe, then I would love to see it in football here too
  24. They're more than happy to share salaries in the NFL / MLB etc.
  25. Completely agree, At a bare minimum, they should have to publish what the guaranteed amount is, along with possible maximum amount, & with sell % Also think the same should apply for player wages (as far as it can) Probably restricted in that can't legally force clubs to disclose individual player wages/bonuses etc, I imagine that would infringe data protection or similar of the individual players. But it could be possible for them to be "forced" to publish an amalgamated basic wage amount etc (accounts currently only have to show a wage for all club staff including directors, tea ladies etc)
