LeftWinger Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Huddlestone Thread Interesting comments on Huddlestone here. They're from December of last year - but they're all raving about him. I can't see Spurs letting him go to be honest - but if they did we should definitely get in there.

modes98 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Modes, he makes me look like a stick insect, those stats are way off. My god the man must be huge! Good job he is very good and we have a top nutritionist.....ah erm well we may have a new one soon.
nicko Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Jason Roberts is staying at Rovers. Fulham have given up the chase.
tcj_jones Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Portsmouth have offered Sean Davis plus David Nugent on a season long loan for Papa Bouba Diop. Sounds like an extremely good deal for Fulham that. It seems to fund the Nugent deal, Derby are set to ship Earnshaw off to Charlton. They only bought him a couple of months ago Earnshaw move Absolute madness! I really like Earnshaw and find it really, really strange that both Pompey and Derby are willing to sell their big money signings weeks after they joined the club. On a new central midfielder. If Hughes feels that Hughes is top quality, then bring him in. Otherwise, I'd much rather wait until the end of the season when we know Tugay will be leaving and after Dunn has had time to prove his fitness and form. I also like the idea of us having money to fall back on in January, where Hughes has previously performed mircales and really improved the squad three seasons running. Also, that's goos news about Roberts. I don't want to disrupt such a strong front line that is performing well.
AggyBlue Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 On a new central midfielder. If Hughes feels that Hughes is top quality, then bring him in. Which Hughes is this?
Oakland Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Jason Roberts is staying at Rovers. Fulham have given up the chase. Good thing! He's top quality cover for Santa & Benni.
tcj_jones Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Which Hughes is this? Well I do find the idea of Hughes thinking of himself as quality pretty funny, what I actually meant to write was "If Hughes think that Huddlestone is quality..."
Fife Rover Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Well I do find the idea of Hughes thinking of himself as quality pretty funny, what I actually meant to write was "If Hughes think that Huddlestone is quality..." He wouldn't be far wrong though would he?
spencey7 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Jason Roberts is staying at Rovers. Fulham have given up the chase. That's very disappointing, and bigger-fool-him really. Benni and Roque are better than Jason Roberts. That is a simple fact which no-one with even half a brain will deny. When it comes to our other strikers, I'd much rather see Derbyshire 3rd choice and Rigters (remember Rigters?) 4th. I know some Roberts fans will say he's a "different type of player", and "another option", but I don't see why it's necessary to have an "option" who needs 25 chances before scoring, constantly gives away free kicks and isn't too clear on the offside rule. My prediction: Roberts to Fulham in January, for significantly less than £4m.

Mozzer Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 who said roberts is better then roque santa cruz and benni mcarthy???? to do well in the league and cup competitions you need strength in depth..god for bid if anything happened to roque santa cruz or mcarthy, we'd only have two inexperienced players, yeh matt derbyshire is doing great, but rigters-it remains to be seen, roberts has experience and i think he could get into double figures this season...
Ricky Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Will we be losing Benni for the African nations this year as well?? Surely if thats the case we'll need Roberts
Cocker Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Will we be losing Benni for the African nations this year as well?? Nah, We will lose Benni cos he will go on holiday. He will say he is going to play for them but not turn up as normal
Eddie Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 So we've had an interest in Huddlestone in the past, but there appears to be nothing there at the moment?
modes98 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Will we be losing Benni for the African nations this year as well?? Has he finally made his mind up then? Didn't he retire, then get picked and not turn up because he had retired and the coach had a hissy fit about it?
benlloninho Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 any truth in Liverpool buying Heinze from Real for £6.4m?
Shabani Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 id love that, just to take the ###### out of fergie
lockers Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I think Sanchez is starting to believe there is some kind of hype surrounding him and he thinks he's better than he really is. The only thing he did at Wycombe Wanderers was a superb run to the FA Cup semi-final, other than that he achieved nothing. He finally got Northern Ireland winning a few games and now the bloke thinks he's God. He certainly isnt a Premiership manager of any quality. The falling out at Fulham was only a matter of time. I wish I could get in contact with Charlie (the Fulham fan from FanZone) as I'm sure he'd have a few choice words about Sanchez. No Sanchez does not 'believe his own hype'. He simply does not take @#/? off anybody, players or the press. Several Northern Ireland players 'believed their own hype' during the Sanchez era at Northern Ireland, and they were swiftly booted out, never to play for the Ulstermen again under Sanchez. Examples George McCartney - Thought he could pick and choose which games he would play in. Out (Back in under Worthington) Jeff Whitley & Phil Mulryne - Deliberately broke curfew to go out and get hammered the night before Northern Ireland were due to play Azerbaijan, they were booted out of the squad and subsequently missed the back to back victories over Azerbaijan and England. (Neither in Worthingtons first squad as manager although i think Mulryne has persistant injury problems, not 100% sure though)

The only thing he did at Wycombe Wanderers was a superb run to the FA Cup semi-final, other than that he achieved nothing. He finally got Northern Ireland winning a few games and now the bloke thinks he's God. Sanchez had a massive falling out with the local press here and ended up looking like a right tit. People from this part of the world are not fond of those who get above themselves and Sanchez's behaviour in the latter part of his reign lost him a lot of support.
LeftWinger Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 any truth in Liverpool buying Heinze from Real for £6.4m? That would be great! Can you imagine Fergies face! It's also a lot more likely than the idea of Crystal Palace buying him then selling him to Liverpool.
nicko Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 SCOOP ALERT There could be a right back arriving. In fact, he's here on trial. We will find out if he is good enough by tomorrow. The word is he is very decent, but may be a little young. Name and details at 9 - don't want to tip off rival papers on this one.
Mozzer Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 a young right back, is it for the first team or reserve team?? will he pressure emerton basically???

Eddie Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 That would mean Hughes officially lied to us all...I hate him.
