Cocker Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Working on it...if you find a market let me know. Will name the two leading candidates in the morning. Not before. And Souey is not one of them from what I hear. Certainly not at the moment. Well

nicko Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Well That meant you were supposed to buy the Mirror... Obviously not crossed the sea yet! Alex McLeish and Stuart Pearce would be the main names on the top of the list. However do NOT bet on either as Wigan do not know if they fancy the job. They are both obviously in work right now. That's why my advice was to leave this market alone. However I would have a sly fiver on Curbishley being the next manager to go... No more than that, mind.
EwoodGlory Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Stuart Pearce and Alec Mcleish are the 2 mentioned in the Mirror
Dingle Basher Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 The Sun is claiming that Derby are going to make a bid to sign Huddlestone in January, any truth Nicko?
nicko Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 The Sun is claiming that Derby are going to make a bid to sign Huddlestone in January, any truth Nicko? I can't see Spurs letting him go on loan next time. If he leaves it will be for money. I don't think Derby have that kind of cash and the player would not want to go to a club heading for relegation. From what I hear the Rovers interest is not as big as it was a couple of months ago. Plenty of time to find somebody better...
LeftWinger Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 However I would have a sly fiver on Curbishley being the next manager to go... No more than that, mind. He's 28-1 on betfair according to odds checker - but can't find it on the site.
Cocker Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 That meant you were supposed to buy the Mirror... Obviously not crossed the sea yet! Ha Ha, yeah your right. I cant wait to get the paper next week because from what I hear Tim Sherwood will be on the back lifting the Premiership trophy for us. Also, I think its the last edition of the Today paper - how sad

nicko Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 is there any other positions we are looking to strengthn that you know off?? also any players who rovers are willing to leave or go out on loan come january??? Just the usual favourites - a right back [preferably youngish] and a midfield player who can pass and eventually take over from Tugay. If you get two good ones it would make a big difference. The only worry is cover in some areas of the squad. But when you look at Man City last night there is no way they are a better team...

Unfortunately I was at a meeting out of town last night and did not get the results. Anyone care to oblige?
nicko Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Unfortunately I was at a meeting out of town last night and did not get the results. Anyone care to oblige? Man City 1 Sunderland 0. A game that defined the cliche 'damp squib.'
Dunnfc Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 West Ham captain Lucas Neill wants the club to raise his salary just 10 months after joining them. (Mirror) lol Nicko any truth in this?
nicko Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 West Ham captain Lucas Neill wants the club to raise his salary just 10 months after joining them. (Mirror) lol Nicko any truth in this? Not my story, but I believe it may be correct.
rovers_rob Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Its being reported on setanta web site that reidy has been called up to the Ireland squad. I can't believe that after 1 reserve game that he is ready. nicko, do you know how many games he has had in last couple of weeks ? I can't imagine Hughes giving his blessing for this call up.
ffan Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 rumours going round that ledley king has to retire shed any light on this nicko?
EwoodGlory Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 The ledley king one has been doing the rounds for over a year now. Sad if true, he's a very good player
bluebruce Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 West Ham captain Lucas Neill wants the club to raise his salary just 10 months after joining them. (Mirror) lol Nicko any truth in this? Jesus, no way...didn't he apparently go there for a ridiculous 60-70k a week? And he's been injured quite a bit.
tcj_jones Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Those figures were ridiculusly over-exaggerated. The figure was closer to 35k.
thenodrog Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Those figures were ridiculusly over-exaggerated. The figure was closer to 35k. So why didn't he go to Lpool then? From the Riise thread 35k appears to be the going rate for full backs at Anfield.
roversmum Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Man City 1 Sunderland 0. A game that defined the cliche 'damp squib.' Which is what makes it so darn annoying that they are in the position they are in the league
thenodrog Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 The only worry is cover in some areas of the squad. But when you look at Man City last night there is no way they are a better team... A point made by many including myself after the City match. God only knows why we were hanging on for a 1-0 win when we should have been home and dry by half time.
budha Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Those figures were ridiculusly over-exaggerated. The figure was closer to 35k. I guess that 35k was taken from the Egg's statement that "nobody at West Ham earns more than 35k / wk". Now Ljungberg, Bellamy etc have arrived and certainly not on under 35k, I guess Lucash wants parity with them.
philipl Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 He was on £28k at Ewood and certainly was offered £40k++ at Liverpool. That was why he signed for Liverpool rather than West Ham- obvious when you think about it.
