neophox Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Absolutely correct, my friend. The deal should go on tomorrow. I won't ask how you know, just in case you are a Dan Williams plant or used to have any shares in ProActive...only joking. [With a bit of luck you won't even get that reference]. The silence is broken because there is yet another example of people actually knowing about the game and wanting answers. Cheers Thanx alot for the answer nicko! Great so see us cash in on Jeffers.

neophox Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 If I was Hughes I would let Enckelman go too. Don't know why we have him? He could do a job in the championship. We have Jason Brown, Frank Fielding and Gunnar Nielsen. Maybe its time for Gally to leave as he haven't succed as we'd hope.
Mozzer Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 either gallagher has to leave or change his position to a winger..i like gallagher, but looking at our strike options i dont think he will ever get a go upfront..maybe he can cover the wings..technically he is good, but in games when he gets chances he needs to show what he can do, otherwise get rid..

Agree with you Mozzer. Nicko, is there any interest from rovers in some new player before the season starts? It could be a long and hard campaign and we need a big squad. I would like to see us signing a central midfelder who can open up defences and show some creativity. I hope Dunn can do this but im not sure.
rovers_rob Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 After watching the charity shield I have got this horrible feeling that Chelsea might come back in for Benni, they played with 3 wingers up front and now drogba is injured. It might be worth keeping hold of Gally until the new year - just in case.
shane123 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 We are one of 10 Premier League clubs chasing the signature of 6ft 4in, 18-year-old Argentine wonderkid Franco Di Santo - described as the new Maradona. (Sunday Mirror). Nicko is there any truth in this and whats the latest, are we buying any more players.

Cheers for the tip-off. Quality.

The kid is due to come over for trials with a few clubs in the next few weeks. The good news for you is that the agent - Barry Silkman - is the same guy who brought in Adda Djeziri. So he is obviously on good terms with the management. I don't know much about the kid - and he won't be as good as Silky says no doubt - but there is no harm in having a look. The only reports I have is that he very talented, so bring him in and see if it works.
USABlue Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Nicko, you're posting again, does this mean the missus chucked you out?
Dunnfc Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I think hughsie is very quiet with transfers and wont give out any clues on who or if hes plannning to bring anyone else in. I read today on the let website that hes not planning to sell Roberts which imo is good news what do you lot think of this? Franco Di Santo is a very good talent hes on par with Angel Di Maria and are both meant to be Argentinas next big things.
roversmum Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Personally I don't want big Jay to go anywhere except on the pitch playing for Rovers. As for Encks, leave him alone, the man is a legend. (like the look of Jason Brown though, reminds me of my step-son who had enough class to be up there with Benni but chose to be a fireman instead)
Mozzer Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 any news on who other clubs are signing?????????????
Eddie Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Nicko, you're posting again, does this mean the missus chucked you out? ...once you're hooked
Atty Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Great to see you back Nicko some of us really do appreciate your input into these boards; ignore some of them paranoid idiots most of them are so far stuck up there own arse its unreal. Cheers Niko
shane123 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Nicko is Franco Di Santo going to have a trail at rovers
nicko Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Sending messages in secret...from the kennel. Mrs Nicko is not one to cross.
nicko Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 any news on who other clubs are signing????????????? MAN CITY - as mad as ever, Mark Bresciano should be here today, trying like stink for Scott Carson without success and want to sign Manuel Fernandes who is a real player in the right team. EVERTON - Baines has gone, not sure about the Argentinian story. WIGAN - Can't find a left back now that Baines is gone. MIDDLESBROUGH - you will be pleased to hear they are in disaarray. Want Samaras for Saturday. Big Chris Samba will be licking his lips at having him for tea. WEST HAM - Alleged sightings of Gudjohnsen in London, which would be a great signing. ASTON VILLA AND SUNDERLAND - both talking to Hearts keeper Craig Gordon, who looks pretty useful. Which one would you join?
EwoodGlory Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 WIGAN - Can't find a left back now that Baines is gone.I heard they are after Paul Robinson from West Brom MIDDLESBROUGH - you will be pleased to hear they are in disaarray. Want Samaras for Saturday. Big Chris Samba will be licking his lips at having him for tea. Did you know we are 25/1 to score the most goals in the opening weekend of the Premiership season, seems rather generous. PaddyPower Odds Good to have you back, good news about Jeffers possibly leaving for Sheff Wed
LeftWinger Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Did you know we are 25/1 to score the most goals in the opening weekend of the Premiership season, seems rather generous. That does seem generous - particularly as Boro are 16s.
nicko Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I heard they are after Paul Robinson from West Brom Robinson has a back problem, enough to make them ask West Brom to make the fee lower - with extra money after appearances. There is also some Wigan interest in Diego Placente, an Argie left back at Celta Vigo. As for the 25/1...just settle for a 1-0.
bob fleming Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Welcome to BRFCS.com. You'll Never Leave. ...once you're hooked Good to see you back nicko!
bluebruce Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Nicko, I don't think you've commented on this, but I haven't had time to thoroughly peruse the thread. The Sunday Mirror reported yesterday that we are in the race for Franco di Santo, some 18 year old 6 ft 4 Argentinian wonderkid striker playing in Chile dubbed the next Maradona. Apparently us and 9 other clubs are in for him including the top five. I was wondering if you knew anything about it? I find it a bit dubious, since we have 9 thousand strikers already, and it said the deal would be a £500,000 loan followed by a £10 million purchase next summer which would clearly be beyond our budget, but wondered if you'd heard anything. Also, don't we have our limit of non EU players in Mokoena, McCarthy and Santa Cruz? (Though I think Mokoena should be able to apply for EU citizenship in Jan, having been here three years)
Ricky Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Interesting on the Paddy Power link. 33-1 on Southgate to play for Boro this season.... lol, could be a nice double with rovers scoring the most goals on the opening weekend. I wonder if he would consider playing if they have that many injuries. fancy a couple of quid on us to score a few on the opening weekend. Our front line is looking pretty good.

You're not expected to look through 100 pages for a story that was only in the press yesterday. Just try the previous page as I'm sure its on there.
j166429 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Hey Nicko, good to see your back. Any news about the takeover??
