Good day again my fellow football fans, long time no visit.

Just a quick visit to see how you see your season going. Can Hughes continue the good work, will another club take him from you? Saw Wengers comments and the 100K fine handed to Rovers - did you think these were fair or is it just more big club bias? What is your realistic league target for the year?

So far it looks as though we are about to endure another season of Cotterball (think of Wimbledon without the finesse) despite him having more money in his budget than previous seasons. The ground plans look decent though it seems a shame we are conceding we don't need a capacity of greater 22,000. I predict we will finish below 6th but above 12th and have another season of little joy in the football served up.

Hello again Longsiders1882; welcome back.

I am sorry to see your gloomy prediction for this season. No, honestly I mean it! I may be the only Rovers fan that wants to see Burnley and Preston both get promoted and now possibly Blackpool as well next season. I can't understand why our lot on here cannot see the sense in having all the Lancashire teams in the same div, and as we are not too keen on going down, we need you lot to come up.

Maybe it's because I am one of a mere handful of Rovers fans that can actually remember the excitement of the old Lancashire derby games both home and away and the same for the fans of all the clubs involved. It used to be my highlight of the season going to Turf Moor at Christmas time and coming back with the points, even though it meant navigating through dangerous "waters" all the way back out of Burnley and Rosegrove then Accrington as well. Still it was well worth it and the same applied I guess for the Burnley fans on the rare occasions that they managed a win at Ewood! ;)

Oh happy days! (sigh)

Clearly we have different memories <_<

We do have one bright light on the horizon in the shape of our new director Brendan Flood who just maybe has the ability to get us there - eventually. This season I just cannot see it and I now have some serious doubts about our managers ability to deliver. What is the state of play with the new Rovers owners, is that still on the cards - not seen much media wise about it.

I'm looking forward to the Blackpool games this season. not played them in a little while in the league and their fans will no doubt be bang up for it. The local(ish) derbies are the best and games against PNE have been the highlight in recent years but they don't come close to the intensity of playing Rovers.

Does my old mate blue still post?

Hello again Longsiders and welcome back. Had a friday pub crawl around Burnley a while back, my mate said we would start in 'Maanus'. Thought to meself sounds good that, some sort of Spanish bar, turned out to be the 'Miners', that club under the bridge  What do they call that area ? Under the something or other ....

What do you think of the plans to invest a chunk 'u change at Turf Moor ? New Cinema ?

This is not the thread to discuss this topic, but you can't convince me that most of those cards were deserved.

Hi, Longsider. Nice to see you again. Wonder if there's any chance of another Cup Match against your lot this year.......

Still, at least it looks as if you will be higher than Preston NE this season, that can't be bad.

Welcome back to the dingle, the only one I have met that can spell properly and one who has realistic views on his teams fortunes and prospects.

For me little ol bumley will finish 13th at best, they will lose every derby match involving the seasiders and nobenders but imo will finish above both of them.

happy season dingle nobend are going down.

Whatever happened to that bird who supported Burnley, or that Ranolf/Adolf/Ran-off guy who supposedly coloured in Japanese cartoon porn? I used to be a mere guest when they were on view here. The former was actually quite articulate, and the latter was good for making fun of.

Well I seem to remember she could form a sentence, which is quite an achievment for a dingle! You're right about both usernames. I did think CC could give it as good as she took it (no not like that. Tsk.), although she may have just picked on Abbey when he was plastered :D.

Cool Claret was a teacher if I remember correctly. Her Cool Claret apologises when the dingles were top of the 2nd Division after three games was one of the all time best posts on here.

Anyway, who has some cash on Blackpool being the best placed Lancashire team in the fizzy pop this year?

Alright Longsider.

How are things in that lesser half of Lancashire, lol. Good start to the season for you, but I'm sure your lot describe Saturday's result as dreadful. Tough game against QPR on Saturday as they've endured a tough start and haven't gelled yet. Their off the field problems will also pile the pressure on them, but they will be a real hard act to breakdown. If Lafferty leaves this summer, thats 3 players out the exit door in a week and Cotterill claims you aren't a selling club. Can't see you finishing in top half and I'm very surprised to see that Alan Mahon isn't featuring.

Good enough here for the better half in Lancashire. Unbeaten and tidy result away from home in Europe, but will be an extremely tough season. Bit of a scare with Benni, but I'm sure Santa Cruz will be a decent enough signing for us and fairly solid at the back. Will be interesting how the next few weeks fair out for us both.

That would be 'Under't culvert' - The miners is OK - if a little Royston Vasey, but the other pubs (Princess Royal and Turf Hotel), you need an armed guard.

As for the ground developments, no problem with the inclusion of a cinema, bigger retail area or hotel. We need all the revenue we can get to keep going so if these things help, great. Maybe one day we will get into the prem and an uncle Jack type benefactor so we can refer to 20 million as a chunk a change

Ranoff Westwood got his running shoes on directly after the Rovers beat Burnley at Turf Moor, was it 0-2, in December 2002.

He never posted on this board after that wonderfull Christmas present.

Last seen working in Best Turkish Kebab,Dalston.

I think the point they are trying to make is we don't need to sell so unlike in recent seasons they have to be very good offers. 1.2 million for a defender who we signed for free, who would be out of contract in summer (and allegedly would not sign a new one) and who in 2 years had played 50 times for us and been sent off 5 times was I thought a good deal. lafferty - thats an odd one because he has turned down a 2 million bid and yet does not play him often enough, so not sure there. If it gets as high as 3 million then I'd guess we will sell.

Under't Culvert ! That's it, couldn't remember.

Royston Vasey alright. Bit like your lot and the championship "You'll Never Leave"
