LeChuck Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 He was linked before Ince got the job. One of the criticisms against Ince is no premiership managerial experience so whats the difference? The difference is that he is managing two tiers above where Ince was. There's a hell of a lot of difference between the Championship and League Two. I can't believe that needed explaining.

67splitscreen Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 So as philip, says, putting it bluntley, if Ince is sacked, say before Crimbo, and we are flirting with the drop, which we would be, for that to happen. We bring in a manager with a good record in the Championship, and knows diddley squat about the Pemier league, to remodel the team and spend what money we have. Makes sence to me.
DingleBaiter Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 This is a Manager we should look at seriously if the worst were to happen. He's clearly mad Philip; have you not read the whole article? "It's important that you can find your own niche," he says. "Swansea is such a beautiful place. When the weather is nice you can really enjoy the Gower peninsula and the surroundings in south Wales are very impressive. It's the closest you can get to a Mediterranean life. Then you've got the personality and the passion of the Welsh people - it's very similar to the Catalan people. There are so many similarities between the two ways to live. It makes you feel at home." Will that make you move from Malta to the valleys then? He's doing well - always seemed a decent sort - and wish him every success. Dunno about a potential for the Rovers job - he may have to wait a few years for it don't you think?
Majiball Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 What are you all on about Martinez as manager indeed. Continuity is what is required to quote JW, so the answers simple we'd promote Ray!!
gumboots Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 What are you all on about Martinez as manager indeed. Continuity is what is required to quote JW, so the answers simple we'd promote Ray!! Actually I think we'll be keeping Ince.
Hasta Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 This is a Manager we should look at seriously if the worst were to happen. I do recall having Martinez as my second choice (after Big Dick) in the summer but most people ridiculed me.
LDRover Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Yeah me too, I put his name forward early doors. Kind of went off him when Laudrup, Advocaat and Shearer were mentioned.
BuckyRover Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 So somebody who has managed in the championship is better qualified than Ince. Liverpool, Wolves and England captain. Looks like MK Dons might be playing Swansea next season. Ince hasn't left them in a bad state

BuckyRover Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 So how will he be more qualified? I don't recall you singing his praises when nicko mentioned that he was on the original short list
philipl Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I said if the worst happens, he is worth considering. Yet again you are not reading what I posted.
BuckyRover Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I don't think he would be a bad shout. Although I don't think we will change managers for a few years
Tris Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I said if the worst happens, he is worth considering. Yet again you are not reading what I posted. To be fair philip, what you are posting at the moment isn't worth reading. And I've been reading this thing for over 12 years.

Premier league experience? no.....so yes it did need explaining and yours wasn't an explaination!
dopper69 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Just seen an interview with Mr P.I regarding the Benni situation and he seems to have been working on his interview style. Much better presentation and didn't look nervous for a change. Very good to see!
patrickvalery Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Just seen an interview with Mr P.I regarding the Benni situation and he seems to have been working on his interview style. Much better presentation and didn't look nervous for a change. Very good to see! Not so sure he has been working on his interview techniques. I think he's probably just getting comfortable. As a player all you have to do is seem a little bit out of breath and say numerous non commital cliches. I think he is now more comfortable with what is required on the media front as a manager. Although its been based on very unfortunate circumstances, his interviews this week have shown a notable improvement. It helps breed a confidence amongst the public. I have supported him all the way so far but i would have to admit his demeanour has been less than convincing. I genuinely think this has had a huge effect on his popularity. Lets hope this improvement continues. If RSC plays a sustained amount of minutes today and we give him a partner, i fancy us to score a few. Trouble is i can see us conceding too. I would not be suprised to see a craking game today. Maybe a 3-2 win. Here's hoping.
Sysagent Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 So... What do we think of Mr Ince's progress then now after today's capitulation at home?
Frisky Jim Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Not even Brian Kidd was this inept... Paul Ince is a disgrace and should be sacked immediately. INCE OUT!!!
DudeAbides Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Gotta say im not impressed, he seems out of his depth...
Amo Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Inconsistent team selection, poor man-management, and signings that haven't strengthened the side. Ince out.
insiderover79 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I feel really empty tonight, I thought as many Paul deserved the chance but now I am nearly convinced he needs to go and sooner rather than later otherwise we will be stuck on the relegation train. The players seem to not be clicking and we have a very championship feel to our midfield at present. The next 2 games are crucial.
PAFELL Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Not even Brian Kidd was this inept... Paul Ince is a disgrace and should be sacked immediately. INCE OUT!!! I think that I have to agree it is time to replace Ince - but with whom. 7 games without a win - yet in the first half Rovers could have been 4 0 up. Second half they were pathetic.
tony gale's mic Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 JW should hold his hand up and apologise for this mess of an appointment too. We had some very good candidates interested, Michael Laudrup, ten Cate etc and instead we go for a League Two manager. I have it on very good authority (ie nicko) that JW reads this board a lot and that he only got the Laudrup idea after reading this very site. I heard this at the time of the appointment but I doubt it's public knowledge on here and saw no good reason to go on about it. JW is excellent at running a tight ship but the footballing decisions should never be left to him again.
Bobby G Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Personally anyone who thinks that this slide is going to be turned around because of signs they have seen scattered through 15 performances must be deluded. I am beginning to fear our future in the league.
