Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 To be fair the point about playing youngsters is a good one Den. Hughes never seemed willing to give any of the youngsters a chance at all, but Ince gave Olsson a try and, while he certainly isn't the finished article, he seems to be one for the future. He also had the balls to play Treacy rather than Pedersen when our Norwegian pop star was jogging around in front of the Riverside looking lost.

Majiball Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 i am shoked Williams has not sacked him yet. He needs to go now Williams cmon wake up and save our club. I have backed Ince all the way, but he has had enough chances now and he needs P45 TODAY WILLIAMS But he can't can he! Ince will go there and then, but what will his team do? Who will replace him? we cannot be left in a situation where we loss all our first team coaches, who would take training? Mathias or Knox as caretaker, I'd rather keep Ince, sort out who's coming in on the hush over the next week or so and then do it with then new man ready to come in. Getting rid is the right thing to do but it must be on terms that do not put us further in the pooh. You could however sack the lot and get Parkes back why he was allowed to leave I'll never know just shows there is no loyalty in the game anymore.
The Prof. Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Fowler to Grimsby!!! Woo Hooooooooo We should warn them - there is a trade descriptions act you know.
CrazyIvan Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Fowler to Grimsby!!! Woo Hooooooooo Right, where is he? I'll kidnap him and throw him in my boot. Then drive over to Grimbsy and drop him off. Who's with me?

Hughes had these same youngsters and knew they weren't the answer, ADB. Not yet anyhow. We can all ask the coaches who the best youngsters are, and throw them in. A good manager will know when they're ready though. That's the difference, Hughes recognised a player when he saw one.
ace Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 We should warn them - there is a trade descriptions act you know. Fowler to Grimsby ? That says it all ...hope he persuades one or two of Ince's fantastic selection of invincibles go with him to Cleethorpes
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Your not feeling the pressure Ince?.....take a look at the table, you ruddy well should be feeling the pressure!!

I hope williams has been thinking of getting rid of Ince a long time ago, not just today. He needs to go now and give as much time for the new manager to help Rovers get help of this mess we are in now.
gillibrand Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Shouln't the title get updated, we will be on the same subject 23 games in and 12 points adrift at the bottom!
gazsimm Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Right, where is he? I'll kidnap him and throw him in my boot. Then drive over to Grimbsy and drop him off. Who's with me? i would but i am taking Ince instead!!!!!
roverfanuk Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Something to remember Ince whilst your not 'feeling the pressure': Our record: Played 15 games, lost 8, drawn 4 and won 3. We have conceeded 28 goals in 15 Premier League games? We have now gone 2 complete months without winning in the Premier League... We have won a single home league game out of 7 played at Ewood this season!? But hey, give him 3 more games against Liverpool, Wigan and Stoke. With our goals conceeded record, im sure we could get a draw against Liverpool and im sure we could get the winable results against Wigan and Stoke...
Sparky Marky Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 If we're going to get out of this mess, then Ince needs to be put out of his misery and replaced by a more experienced man. My vote qould be for Big Sam. We're the exact type of club which he would prosper at.

With our goals conceeded record, im sure we could get a draw against Liverpool and im sure we could get the winable results against Wigan and Stoke... Sunderland, Boro, Portsmouth were all winnable games too.
roverfanuk Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Sunderland, Boro, Portsmouth were all winnable games too. I see sarcasm hasn't passed you by...?
1864roverite Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Waggy I like your contributions but there is NOTHING POSITIVE going on at Ewood Park, NOTHING WHATSOEVER
modes98 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Hughes had these same youngsters and knew they weren't the answer Hughes bought these youngsters, so he must have rated them and thought they were the answer!
CrazyIvan Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Waggy I like your contributions but there is NOTHING POSITIVE going on at Ewood Park, NOTHING WHATSOEVER I'm pretty positive they turn the lights on...
Billy Castell Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I voted sack. I have stuck up for him initially, as I believe people should be given a chance, and this risky appointment may have came off. However, he has proven to be incapable of even giving us a solid start with hope for the rest of the season. The morale is rock bottom and people are already looking at how to cope with relegation. I know I have fought with JAL, Gordon and Jan, but I shall join in with their calls to sack the manager.
Athlete Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Sunderland, Boro, Portsmouth were all winnable games too. add WBA ( the whippinmg boys ) , Bolton and Spurs ( where apoint at least would have done ) add them games to the list
Billy Castell Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I'll get round to sending an e-mail sometime this week urging the board to sack Ince. No doubt I'd get the standard 'thank you for your contribution' message, but if we all do it then who knows. It may hasten his departure.
SamDingle Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Ince must stay. He just needs a little more time to complete what appears to be a magnificently thorough job. You're the new Charlton Athletic.
den Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Hughes bought these youngsters, so he must have rated them and thought they were the answer! Which youngsters? He bought Olssen yes, but the others? Anyway Modes, my point is that these youngsters weren't the answer then and they're not the answer now. So what's positive about playing them when they're not ready?
Hi Mack Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I'm pretty positive they turn the lights on... Nooooo! You not heard?in a money saving ploy they all work in the dark! All money saved is going in to Mr Fowlers wage packet!
CAPT KAYOS Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Which youngsters? He bought Olssen yes, but the others? Anyway Modes, my point is that these youngsters weren't the answer then and they're not the answer now. So what's positive about playing them when they're not ready? Imo thats not the issue here Den To me they are ready (maybe not Treacy who I don't think is good enough anyway) but the team is not - its a common factor not to introduce youngsters when things are not going good but gradually when most things are ok. As we all know though, the situation has been far from ideal and is a tad unfair to call them when the more established players have not been performing.
