gumboots Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Every time I receive a text I think it is the annoucement from 88442. It is a Monday, but may even treat myself to a few drinks this evening if he is fired. Will be a massive relief, even though we are still firmly in the sh*t. It's the boost we'll all get from knowing he's gone even if there's nothing sorted though. It always feels better when you've taken the medicine even if it hasn't really done you any good yet and the recovery process is slow and painful. Psychologically you just feel better.

Mc Love Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Even if we did win the next three games...i would still like to see ince gone
T4E Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 This is the only certainty in the whole mess. IF we could win the next three life would l;ook much, much better. It would Paul - not only because of our increased points tally, but also due to the damage it'll do to those around us. The next three games are against fellow relegation candidates. Boxing Day is a massive game.
tchocky Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Another day at work with the distraction of pressing F5 every 10 mins on the messageboard + other relevant sites, waiting for confirmation. Hopefully it won't be in vain this time.
philipl Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Don't want to build hopes but... There there Paul, don't cry, we will let you screw up the Stoke game after you tell us fairy tales about Wigan would produce a statement by lunchtime. Getting lawyers in, sorting out the small print on departure packages for four people probably will take most of the day and even more time would be taken up by appointing the new guy if that is part of the deal for today. So, an early announcement equates to Ince staying in all likelihood. Remember, Spurs didn't get round to announcing Ramos et al out, 'arry in until something like 10pm on a Saturday evening. And if (very unlikely) it is BFS, the background checks and dirt digging needed will be at least as extensive as what Spurs had to do before they felt sufficiently confident their Manager would not be receiving any more midnight police calls or sudden press exposees which could blow the club off course from its relegation battle. With it being Rovers, you can be absolutely certain that a BFS scandal will get broken in the papers if he were to be Rovers' boss and there is a scandal to be broken.

Earlydoors Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I totally disagree with the notion we are playing total football. Total football was glorious to watch but although it seemed spomtanious was actually based on a very disciplined system of players being aware of their colleagues and moving to augment attacks and defending from the front with players being sufficiently aware to move to fill the nearest hole when colleagues had ventured forwards. Rovers are playing none football by contrast. There is no system to neither the attack nor the defense and midfield is a floppy appenbdage that is nowhere near either of the other two when it is needed. Whatever happened to MGP's much vaunted tracking back?- even that has disappeared in this miasma of Ince's none football philosophy. I think the point is, Ince is trying to impose a style upon Rovers with no regard to the ability of the players. If we where a top 4 club we'd be able to buy players to play any system. What he needs to do is find a system that compliments the players we have and if he wants to change it, do it incrementally.
Heinz Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Come on guys. Williams comments in the LET about how dissapointed everyone was in the skybox and Incey + staff not traveling to Dublin but rather attend a meeting with Williams basically confirms it: he's out.

John Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Got SSN on and I think they said they are speaking to one of his coaching staff within the next hour........
roverfanuk Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 A "Blackburn Rovers coach" is going to talk to the SkySports News team in a bit... Looks like Ince stays... :angry2:
brfc4ever Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Cant believe he's still here. When I woke up after a long night at work I fully expected to read about him being gone. If it does happen today, I'll be drinking beers and listening to Happy Mondays all day long.
philipl Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 As I posted elsewhere, giving Ince the Stoke game even after a ritual beating in the Chairman's office equates to a lunchtime statement. Sorting out the departures of four people (probably) with dignity and not too much cash could take until the small hours of tomorrow morning. PS please let the member of the coaching staff say that he will be the caretaker....
Heinz Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 A "Blackburn Rovers coach" is going to talk to the SkySports News team in a bit... Looks like Ince stays... :angry2: Ince will come on to declare his resignation + backroom staff (i hope)
G Somerset Rover Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 A "Blackburn Rovers coach" is going to talk to the SkySports News team in a bit... Looks like Ince stays... :angry2: Nah it's all okay. It'll just be Winterburn live from the Emirates.
John Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Really looking forward to hearing the 'give him time' phrase again.......
Heinz Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Really looking forward to hearing the 'give him time' phrase again....... Me too. But this time to clear his desk.
Mc Love Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Nah it's all okay. It'll just be Winterburn live from the Emirates. Haha deadly stuff.
robborover Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 If Ince does stay then how long has he got? How rubbish does he have to be to be sacked? He must be the biggest blagger I have ever heard of! We are nearing the point of needing 'European form' just to reach 15th now.
broadsword Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 This is the only certainty in the whole mess. IF we could win the next three life would l;ook much, much better. If I had a big dick, 500k in the bank and a nice little detached house in richmond, my life would look a lot better too!
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 If he gets the Stoke game and we lose we are dead and buried. My gut feeling is they won't sack him because the board are split on who to turn to and there is probably an issue about compensation. Though common sense tells you it would cost far, far more if we lose our premier league status...
