FourLaneBlue Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 He also said that if he was given the tools we'd "still be in the Premier League". Astoundingly thick. The man truly is a buffoon. This club has now been going for 134 years yet he has a good claim to being the worst Rovers manager ever. Some achievement.

G Somerset Rover Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Here's the interview that the 'tool' gave: Ince Interview
T4E Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 It gets worse, SSN have just shown another clip of Ince, in which he asserts that "Michael Owen is the best striker in the Premier League". Seriously, what the hell did this guy say to JW in the interview?!?!
brian_gallagher85 Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Nice of Sky Sports to ask a LEAGUE 1 MANAGER about his views on Owen and Ronaldo.....
Alan75 Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 The man truly is a buffoon. This club has now been going for 134 years yet he has a good claim to being the worst Rovers manager ever. Some achievement. Heck even Jim Iley wasnt as bad.
broadsword Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 if I had the tools, he'd have been gone quicker than december.
blue phil Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I don't seem to have voted in the "back" or "sack" poll yet ......
deazel Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...5417443,00.html Ince speaking about his return to MK Dons: "I have nothing to prove to anyone, my record speaks for itself. At Macclesfield I was successful and then I won the double here in Milton Keynes in my first season. Blackburn was a great learning curve for me and I feel like I wasn't given the tools I needed to do the job properly up there." What a tool.

Ossydave Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Not sure what 'tools' he actually expected from the always frugal Blackburn board. You never know though, he may have been slightly misled about the funds available.
jonv Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Not sure what 'tools' he actually expected from the always frugal Blackburn board. You never know though, he may have been slightly misled about the funds available. He inherited a squad that finished comfortably in the top half in the previous season. Yes we did lose Friedal and Bentley, but Robinson has proved an able replacement and as for Bentley... well, I don't mind Andrews but I'll leave that one for Waggy
Ossydave Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I know Jon, I'm not defending him at all, just saying he MAY have been promised more funds when offered the job.
den Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I know Jon, I'm not defending him at all, just saying he MAY have been promised more funds when offered the job. Bloomin' 'eck Ossy, He brought 6 players in. No-one forced him to sell Brad and Bentley - did he not check how much of that cash he would be given before he decided to sell them?
Amo Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Fantastically arrogant. You could say he doesn't want to undermine himself ahead of his new job, but he doesn't accept ANY responsibility. "No finaaaaanchul claaaaaut blah blah etc!"
deryck guyler's spoon Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...5417443,00.html Ince speaking about his return to MK Dons: "I have nothing to prove to anyone, my record speaks for itself. Again I'm definitely not defending Ince.

There's every chance he was told he'd get a decent budget, which was then withdrawn when the powers that be saw the sort of players he wanted to bring in.
1864roverite Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 He had his tool, that was Matthias, a bloody big tool. the man ince is a cocking clown
Amo Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I'm sure Ince said in his opening interview that "we've got a bit in the kitty" then everything went quiet on the budget front. His spending only covered what we received for Brad and Bentley.
thenodrog Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Seriously, what the hell did this guy say to JW in the interview?!?! I can only assume that his agent must have been Paul McKenna. ............... But then again there were loads on here who disengaged their brains for a few months as well.
Stuart Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 It gets worse, SSN have just shown another clip of Ince, in which he asserts that "Michael Owen is the best striker in the Premier League". Seriously, what the hell did this guy say to JW in the interview?!?! Judging by that, probably along the lines of "Keith Andrews is the best midfielder outside the Premier League", "Danny Simpson is the next Roberto Carlos" and "Robbie Fowler is the best finisher in the World". He probably did one of those comedy sneezes after each statement: "bwullschit". Then, "Ere, JW, pull my finger" Thank God we can look back and laugh.
broadsword Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 "I have nothing to prove to anyone, my record speaks for itself Indeed. He's proved himself to be a hopeless arse.
Dunnfc Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Love the bit where he moans about not spending much he spent 9/10 mill on transfer fees alone. Plus he brought in his coaches. We didn't give him a chance... course we did we got dispensation for you etc... Northern media had it in for him was probs my best quote... soft southern @#/? springs to mind... Our board never supported him when he was being "witchhunted"... balls.
Iceman Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 JW: 'we not a bottom 3 club' Ince: 'yet' From the moment, when i heard that i could see that he was going to catch on ######. I was clearly not impressed with him before the season started, but got slated because i thought we could have done better. He had no Epl experience as a manager, nor as a championship manager. His inability to bring an experienced backroom staff with, was just the sort of thing which contributed to his downfall. He mentions he didnt have the tools, what a load of rubbish. Hughes was hardly given the funds that Ince got, yet he handled the situation alot better. The only tool missing from Ince was his brain. He failed to asess the situation properly, and failed to rectify clear mistakes and also didnt learn anything from any of those mistakes.
