beerwins Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Benjani back to pompey i hear, nothing wrote yet but a good friend a pompey fan seems to think he is on his way back down there. Makes sense i suppose , pompey have no money to put down for a decent player and its not like city need the brass up front but they do need the space for there topheavy squad. If they do sign him they gotta be 1 of the favs to go down, i would put my money on them in bottom spot if the odds were good.

philipl Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Bassong going to City means NUFC get another big transfer fee and much more worryingly, puts Spurs back into the market for a central defender. Very little by way of solid happenings anywhere but eye openers are: Abramovich has OK'd a £100m splurge on Pirlo, Aguerro and Ribery, apparently... Lucash has not found a home and will return to WHam in reduced circumstances Liverpool got stuffed 3-0 by Espanyol. Agger is injured. Real's bid for Alonso keeps growing City's Toure and RSC both injured Chamakh might be in London talking to Arsenal, or might not be.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Why all the interest in Bassong? He has looked absolute rubbish when i've seen him.
Mattyblue Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Just watching Rangers - Arsenal from earlier on. Jack Wilshere looks absolutely outstanding. How does Wenger do it? Usually by poaching players from other clubs academies
joey_big_nose Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Bent to Sunderland- £14m I didn't realise they had signed Cana. Good player... we could have done with him for 5m.
tcj_jones Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 There's no doubting that Spurs throw huge sums of money away season after season, but they've done remarkably well to get the kind of money they have for Keane, Bent and Berbatov.
LeftWinger Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I didn't realise they had signed Cana. Good player... we could have done with him for 5m. Supposedly ridiculous wages though. Don't think we could have afforded him.
budha Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Johnson has gained a pound or two during his "injury"(?)..
philipl Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Frightening those two photographs! Reports that Liverpool agreed a price of E32m for Alonso with Real Madrid. That will mean Spurs miss out on Turner and I am sorry to say my summer long fears of them coming to Rovers look like being confirmed although at this stage it wasn't Warnock I was so worried about. If Bassong goes to City, Harry will be getting desperate.
Hughesy Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Liverpool have agreed a 18m euro fee with Roma for Aquilani according to reports. Looks like the Xabi deal is almost done....with about 14m Euros left to play with.

Hughesy Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Villa agree fee with Leeds for Fabian Delph City will probably join in. Has MON finally woke up??
mellison24 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 City will probably join in. Has MON finally woke up?? Think he just too off those specs.
Majiball Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Johnson has gained a pound or two during his "injury"(?).. WOW, thats some increase. I'll bet he's got a gut now.
T4E Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Usually by poaching players from other clubs academies You've still got to be able to spot them.
67splitscreen Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Things haven't got much better, even in the new shirts for this season. Must sill have a couple of stone to lose. Is that what the coaches call bulking up young players.
budha Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 The Swiss Football Association have confirmed that Philippe Senderos will join Everton in the coming days With less than a year left on his contract, Senderos is now on the verge of completing a reported £7million move to David Moyes’ side, the Swiss FA admitting that the transfer details are undisclosed. If the sum is correct, the world has gone mad. £7M for Senderos with one year left on the contract. WTF!!
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I bet ever Toffee is at the very least hoping that the 7 milllion figure is meant to be Swiss Francs Then again Moyes may just be getting desperate having missed out on his main !
tcj_jones Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Moyes has lost the plot. £7m for Senderos is daylight robbery, especially when he only has a year left on his contract. I wouldn't have him if he were free!
Majiball Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Senderos replacing Lescott is great news, for us.
DeadlyDirk Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Senderos replacing Lescott is great news, for us. Great news for anyone playing Everton. Plus Wenger is the first to complain about prices being too high and players costing too much, especially in the premiership yet he demands 7m for bloody Senderos and reportedly has only offered 5m for Chamankh. He loves playing games that guy.
