booth Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 And have you not realised that your friend Sam was just about the only guarantee we had of staying in this league ? Do you seriously, seriously think that they'd bail the club out of debt then give a manager (who they didn't want in the first place) another sack of cash to fritter? The same manager that said pre season/pre takeover that he could leave the club in a couple of seasons? A reminder. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/146514/Sam-Allardyce-wants-to-quit-Blackburn-to-coach-international-football/ It's bad timing but Sam made it easy for them to make the decision. We really should be used to the guff from Venkys with all the misguided claptrap Sam used to come out with.

beerwins Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 These owners are clueless, there like the sheiks at city without the cash, trying to buy the prem with karma and a positive outlook.
Fife Rover Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Open question to board members: If all appears lost in a couple on months time and we appear to be on a one way ticket to the Chumpionship, what do we as fans plan to do about it? We do the only sensible thing for now and that means wait and see what happens in the next few weeks. We do NOT cross any bridges before we get to them.

We really should be used to the guff from Venkys with all the misguided claptrap Sam used to come out with. Idiotic post. They haven't "bailed the club out of debt". They're servicing our debt, they haven't wiped it out. Those are two different things. They should have given our manager, who has arguably made more good signings than bad his entire career, the opportunity to build on his success with Rovers this January. Rather than appoint a TOTAL NOVICE. So Sam said he wanted to leave in two seasons? What the hells wrong with the man wanting to see us through for another two or three seasons then wanting a new challenge?! Thats entirely acceptable, most managers dont last two years to start with. If anyones' spouting misguided claptrap is you, along with all the other cretins who've been hailing Venky's recent actions.
Brownie Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I've nearly given up hope. Do I support a football club or a brand ? On cold days like Saturday I was honestly wondering for the first time in 36 years whether to renew for me and my lad next season . Seriously lost it at the moment
AggyBlue Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Who is "overjoyed"? I suppose it is those of us who refuse to believe that, at this point, that we are doomed. No, you're just a troll and a stalker to boot
tashor Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 They're creepy and they're kooky Mysterious and spooky They're all together ooky The Venky's Family...... Their house is in Pune Where we'll go to ruin 'em They really are a scream The Venky's Family. (Anuradha) (Balaji) (Venkateshwara) So get a Rovers scarf on A big stick you can lean on We're gonna pay a call on The Venky's Family............

If anyones' spouting misguided claptrap is you, along with all the other cretins who've been hailing Venky's recent actions. I didn't hail their actions. Perhaps if you took your tongue from the back of Sam's trousers for a moment you would see that that's not what I was saying. It seems that anyone who even remotely questions the word or actions of the almighty SA is somehow a Venkys fan. Things aren't that black and white. As for "servicing our debt", is that an absolute fact? Could someone else answer that as TGM will think I'm starting some kind of Venkys fan club and lace his reply with enough vitriol to see off his nervous breakdown for another few years.

Allardyce didn't fritter any "sack of cash" at Rovers becauase he had very little to spend so I'm not sure what you driving at. But one thing is certain - he would have kept this club in the PL for another season and most likely improved on last season's 10th place. If you cannot understand that you're even more stupid than the owners who have placed the club's future in peril by sacking him.
ROVERS Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 5 million Warchest for january Guys ! celebrate !!! we have 5 Million petty cash (X) i mean Warchest to spend in january! happy days..... Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Anchelotti, Harry! watch out ! after january you guys race for the top 4 spots would be challenged!
HemelRover Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 As for Steve Kean, nothing but nothing can convince based on what I know now that he would have been given the opportunity had he not been a Kentaro client. Kentaro got him the job- it is as simple as that. Post it or shut it. Post what you know. If you cant post it then stop pretending an opinion is fact.
den Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 It's all become very clear now in my mind. From the recent moves by Venky's and from a few snippets from elsewhere it's all so obvious how these guys are going to make their money out of BRFC. It's obvious now why they don't need a big name manager. It's also obvious why they don't need a top four/five finish. They're here to fleece us guys - Venky's and Kentaro.
philipl Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Mrs Desai has given a new interview in the LT> There is going to be a LOT more than £5m available for transfers in January. Will not say how much. Kean will be in charge through January He will have final say on transfers No decision on a permanent replacement for Sam She is researching alternatives Might take until March to make a final decision Full faith in Kean Kentaro are not the exclusive advisors She has a number of advisors including some in Europe So there are some key differences between Mrs D's interview with Mrs D and Alan Nixon's version last night- particularly about transfer funds and the permanence or otherwise of Steve Kean. It is worth noting that Mrs D probably gave this interview yesterday morning so Nicko's post is the more recent of the two if the rumoured board meeting yesterday afternoon (if it happened in the end) which probably involved the Raos in some form of link changed matters. No doubt things will become clearer but it is worth pointing out that the Daily Telegraph ran something almost the same as Nicko's story at 23.000 last night as well. My observations- is this divergence on stories an attempt to show that Venky's and Kentaro are not joined at the hip? (to quote nicko in a previous post) - to what extent can Kean not be a yes man when his fate will be decided AFTER the window closes? He is going to need to be amazingly strong/foolhardy to reject whatever is pushed at him. - other than agent picks, where are the players who will want to come to Ewood now? Is Salgado still willing to be an ambassador for us in that regard? - is the LOT more than £5m to be financed by player sales or borrowing (against a future player sale?) or is this a generous donation? - balance between wages and transfer fees? - is this going to get the players back on board? There is just too much noise from Nelsen's interview to EHD saying he wants out to two other players reputed to be wanting transfers out to players being seen socially and giving the message that the whole dressing room is upset for anyone to sweep that question away. - if as is not an unlikely scenario, Kean does not produce the results but the decision in favour of going with someone else is taken after the window closes, how on earth are we going to tempt them to Ewood with relegation and agents hanging around the place and no chance to change the squad?
dave birch Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Fair enough, Philip, she's given an interview (again), but the bottom line is, there is no end to the confusion. There hasn't been a definitive statement. It would be far better, and certainly with more authority (with them have made a few confusing statement) had the words been uttered by John Williams. edit: philip, despite your edit, my points are still valid. The press releases and comments should be coming from JW. Anywhere else now looks so amateurish.
ada2020 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Oh wait, I just found the "quote", a friend if a friend said EHD is gutted and wants out..............
philipl Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Brownie is pretty spot on in cases like this. The EHD situation is probably for real.
Bobby G Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Brownie is one of the more respected posters on this board. I havent met him but I've followed his posts throughout the time Ive been on here, and have full confidence in anything he says. You can make your own judgment about things.
Wild Irish Rover Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Well he can go then. A big ego and a big influence on dressing room morale, so better to plan for his exit and move to the next game plan, than have him hanging around like a bad smell, infecting the other players with his disaffection for the club.
Backroom DE. Posted December 21, 2010 Backroom Posted December 21, 2010 Considering EHD is by his own admission incapable of playing in cold weather he's not much good to us at the moment anyway. He's been one of our weakest performers in the past month and with the cold snap likely to last until March we can't really afford to wait that long for his fleeting form to return. If he wants to go then let him go and get somebody in who can play well all year round.
Paul Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 - is the LOT more than £5m to be financed by player sales or borrowing (against a future player sale?) or is this a generous donation? A strong possibility and an unlikely scenario, in my view
Bobby G Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 If its more than 5m, and its to be financed by one star sale, then its a misleading quote to give.
philipl Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Let's be clear, Mrs D says they will spend a lot more than £5m in the LT. It is my commentary which asks how it will be funded.

Stupid, apt word.I meant fritter more money away as in they've already spent money on buying the club/debt. And if reports are to believed they are usually frugal with their cash. Although in their eyes they have said they believe the £6mil on Kalinic and £2mil on Chimbonda was misspent funds. But that's not what I was getting at.
