Stuart Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 When is rapidly downwards ever the right direction...? If rebelmswar was here he'd be hitting that slow underarm throw out out the park...!

Backroom DE. Posted April 2, 2011 Backroom Posted April 2, 2011 More than Ince?.. I actually think there is a case for disliking Kean more than Ince, if he was involved in any way with Allardyce going. Hughes left by his own choice, Ince had every right to go for the job even if he wasn't good enough. It was the fault of the board for hiring him, no matter how badly he did whilst he was here. As for Kean... well, Allardyce left under a very dark cloud having being binned by the owners, and he somehow managed to leapfrog Neil McDonald in the process of becoming manager. There's more than a whiff of suspicion about how Kean got into the position and if he was in any way involved with Allardyce's sacking would earn far more scorn than Ince - from me anyway.
Mercer Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Which of these cliches will we hear tonight: I thought the lads were a bit too edgy (despite saying we will thrive on the pressure). We paid Arsenal too much respect. Arsenal are a class act and will be close to winning it. We regroup on the training ground and make sure we are right for Birmingham. We fight on, the spirit is good. We will get it right, we are moving in the right direction. We need a bit of luck. The owners know what we are trying to do and are fully supportive.
Mattyblue Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 'There's a real togetherness within the group'. 'Get a win against Birmingham and we can kick on'. 'Our home form is excellent and will keep us up'. Nurse!!!!
Roversider Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Old mate of mine used to say "If you want something different to happen, you have to do something different". After 2 points out of our last 18 possible and slipping down a very slippery slope to relegation I'd say something different definitely does need to happen. Wouldn't you Roversider? We are drinking in the Last Chance saloon and have nowt really to lose have we? If changing the manager now is the best move perhaps, but changing means an alternative being available to replace Kean, not just creating a vacuum. We actually do have something to lose if we haven't got the decision right and that is our place in the Premiership. In the end the decision will be taken in Pune not here. Maybe if we had a caretaker available in-house I might see things differently but Hughes got rid of Tony Parkes. I am unhappy with the situation but I don't think there are any credible alternatives. Has anyone else got one? That means something constructive after the destruction of sacking another manager.

I'm not privy to the dressing room but what would your opinion be if Kean is actually providing a demotivational presence? The rumours of the dressing room motivational stance seemed to come from the Captain and not the manager. If that was indeed the case the manager obviously does not command any respect and should be dispensed with. Rotten apple in a barrell. This is not a rehearsal, if we get this wrong we cannot have another go at it.
Roversider Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Tony Parkes is on the books again As a scout, I think. He's been away for a while so not sure that he is an option.

This is not a rehearsal, if we get this wrong we cannot have another go at it. If that was the case then it would be an issue. However there are as many statements that he isn't as there are that he may be. For example Hoillet. You have no more knowledge than me in that respect. On that basis it is pure supposition to infer that he is the 'rotten apple in the barrel'. By the way this is the same captain who has just signed an extended contract. As you say this is not something we can afford to get wrong.
Stuart Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well done Steve. You won't get it but you deserve a bit of respect for today's result.
RovertheHill Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well done Steve. You won't get it but you deserve a bit of respect for today's result. Agree - he gets the crap for bad results so he should get a bit of praise for today. Doubt he will though

roverwhelmed Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well done Steve. You won't get it but you deserve a bit of respect for today's result. Got to say, big smile for me for him tonight.
Tris Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Agree - he gets the crap for bad results so he should get a bit of praise for today. Doubt he will though He did from Sam Allardyce on ESPN. @ 19:29 on Saturday 2nd April ... "Blackburn - tactically - did exceptionally well" @ 19:37 ... "they played a very very good tactical game" - SA again
ada2020 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Got to say, big smile for me for him tonight. Looked better today, desperate after the sending off and for the first ten minutes but much better in between. Blues next week is huge now, must win, this could kick start the season. Isn't it nice to post something slighlty positive!!!
Stuart Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 He did from Sam Allardyce on ESPN. @ 19:29 on Saturday 2nd April ... "Blackburn - tactically - did exceptionally well" Very magnanimous. Maybe one of his severance cheques came in this morning! Fair play to you Sam.
ada2020 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 He did from Sam Allardyce on ESPN. @ 19:29 on Saturday 2nd April ... "Blackburn - tactically - did exceptionally well" Refresh my memory, didnt he "stab Sam in the back"?
Roversider Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well done Steve. You won't get it but you deserve a bit of respect for today's result. He will from me, this performance supports my view that he hasn't lost the team and that there is no sense in changing the manager. Well done to the team, management and the travelling fans!
Mattyblue Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 He's our manager, he fails, we fail. Great result and I'll be singing my heart out at the remaining games.
rovers_rob Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well done Steve. You won't get it but you deserve a bit of respect for today's result. Absolutely. Tactics were spot on today, well done.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Which of these cliches will we hear tonight: Dunno but I doubt we'll be hearing much from you Miseryman. Burnley lost too didn't they?
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Credit has to be given to Kean for today's performance and well earned point.
