Keith, surely! He's got the pointing down Actually, I'd go for Robbo myself too. He seems settled in, calm and decisive.
Stuart Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Wouldn't be surprised if Kean gave the armband to Roberts. For me it would have to be Robbo.
BangkokRover Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Wouldn't be surprised if Kean gave the armband to Roberts. For me it would have to be Robbo. If that happens I will give up all hope for Rovers.
RoverMad86 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Robbo. Although I do like a centre mid being captain, we don't have anyone to fill that role.
chaddyrovers Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I would go for Samba if he stays. If he goes, then I would go for Robinson. maybe J Jones if he signs permanent
Hughesy Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Robbo all the way! Nelsen is ageing and doesnt play every game Samba could be off Dunn is past it
Kelbo Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Well, heres my head on the block, I'd go for Salgado, just feel his spirit and attitude in each game he plays is spot on, well respected and a top lad.
tcj_jones Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I've already accepted that Samba has gone. I'd give it to Nelsen, with Robbo no.2.
67splitscreen Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Dare Kean not give it to Salgado, Robbo for me, if only to ensure he sighs a new contract with a 16m clause of course.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Mickey Mouse..would suit the club ambiance at present!
Clitherover Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I agree with what people are saying about Robbo as captain, he fits the bill in every way for me.
bennyboyt11 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Goal keepers as captains isn't a wise move when a word to the ref is needed, can't be having him running out the goal all the time!
Backroom Tom Posted June 9, 2011 Backroom Posted June 9, 2011 Givet's beard, unless Dunny grows his Grizzly Adams back, if so that.
beerwins Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 This question is for me a very important one, I did'nt rate Samba as a captain at all, whenever there was a need for a captain to make himself known he was the last person to put an arm round players or speak to the ref or get the lads fired up. The latter stages of the season he lead by example and it worked well but as for being vocal he just was'nt the man for me, I think Sam made him captain to keep him here and it worked until now. I would love to be able to offer a suggestion but I dont know who the players respect or who will be playing every minute, for me it should be someone in the spine of the team, if JJ had signed maybe he would be my suggestion or as TCO mentioned if Givet is being lined up as our main central defender maybe he could do the job.
sparkspakespoke Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Well, heres my head on the block, I'd go for Salgado, just feel his spirit and attitude in each game he plays is spot on, well respected and a top lad. Yep. Hecommands respect and has the experience.
joey_big_nose Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Robinson, Salgado, Nelsen are all clearly captain quality. I prefer an outfield player but the likelihood is Nelsen and Salgado won't play all games. On that basis I would have Nelsen as club captain and Robinson as team captain. If Jermaine Jones signs he would be a contender but maybe he is a bit hotheaded to lead the side.
